      Abs... olutely! 😁 .. I've no idea how I stumbled in here, but, she's very impressive and a great presenter too! I hit the gym just once a week due to work/carer responsibilities but do a bit from home a couple of times a week in between. A few of these leg raises in the mix not a bad idea at all! :)

    There are two ways for your abs to show!
    1. Reduce your Body Fat Percentage "abs are made in the kitchen"
    2. Increase the size of your abdominals through hypertrophy training!

    HERE ME UPP!! If you want to see your abs you need to do TWISTING EXERCISES!! Don't just stick to basic linear motion movements, try adding moves like the Russian twist or some different cable moves!! They really bring out your abs and showcase them better than ever!!

    • @Muslimah1987
      @Muslimah1987 5 років тому +55

      I can vouch for this! I did the same ol' abs exercises for months and while I got results, the 'abs lines' only came in once I added the twisting stuff - side planks etc. The abs are a large muscle group so makes sense that exercising different regions gets the most effective results.

    • @islagurney3272
      @islagurney3272 5 років тому +19

      Yeah because those exercises work your obliques as well as your rectus abdominis so your entire abdomen section tones up and you can get 'ab lines' and 'v-lines'. However, you don't need to do them to see abs but obviously, it helps.

    • @mercsan117

The same is true for any muscle group, yet we never talk about them like that. You're going to have more arm/leg/back/whatever definition the lower your body fat is, yet people still train arms/legs/back/whatever in order to increase that definition at a healthy body fat percentage.

      @@MystiqueHarmony This. Tired of people not using proper verbiage on this topic. Everyone has Abs. Everyone! if you wanna see your abdominal muscles, you need to get lean which means you need to eat clean and burn them excess calories. You don't even have to do crunches of any sort to build ab muscles as there are many other exercises like squats that indirectly train them. Other than when i was in high school and the military, i never trained my ab muscles - but when i decide to get lean, because of all the indirect training, I'm blessed with great abs. Always get questions as to how do you get abs, and to make them look like that etc etc. For me it was swimming, squats, and deadlifts. All that core training got me the abs aesthetics i have today. But it takes hours of cardio and a micro managed diet to see all this hard work.

      It’s not bullshit. I know many people don’t have to work their abs directly but that doesn’t apply to everyone. Some don’t have good separation and need to really work abs to get good definition. It’s no different from other muscles. Some people have great bicep peaks without targeting biceps and others need to target biceps.

    • @bettercallsaul8065
      @bettercallsaul8065 5 років тому

      Real boxing Fan1 Your saying what I’m saying in a different way, just because you don’t directly work on your abs doesn’t mean your not working them out, more and likely I would say MOST not all people do compound movements which a lot of them work your core as well, yes genetics play a part and no one said anything about changing the shape of muscle your arguing points that no one has even said. All I said and to be clear, in order to have great abs, you need to work on them, do genetics play a part? Ofcourse but they are NOT made in the kitchen, it’s when they are visible. If you compare 2 people who are the same weight and need to lose the same amount of weight to have their abs visible, one works directly on their abs and the other one doesn’t, CHANCES are the one who works on them directly will have a better 6pack. No one is arguing we don’t have muscle because everyone does. I really don’t know what your point is or what I said was inaccurate so if you could point out what specific point I made wrong so I could correct myself

    • @bettercallsaul8065
      @bettercallsaul8065 5 років тому

      Real boxing Fan1 okay then I wasn’t clear I assume, you literally don’t have to lift a weight in your life and still have muscle, not just abs but with any muscle group, my point was in order to have GREAT abs, or biceps, or calves or any small muscle in your body, you should work on them to optimize them and not neglect them because yes you might have them there but 9/10 if a person works on them directly and you don’t they will more and likely have better looking abs. Even if I was 20-30% body fat I would work on my abs just like any other muscle group because once you lean down you will see the best result compared to if you never have worked on them directly that’s all I’m saying

      It depends. Some people are lucky enough to have a fast enough metabolism that they just have to train their abs in the gym/ at home to see them as they already have a low enough bf (because any calories they eat are burnt pretty quick). Others have to manage their diet more than work out to see their abs. It all depends on genetics, lifestyle and what works best for you. There are plenty of examples of people that have abs solely from working out and visa versa.

      @@RiKo18 I'd love to see what kind of progress glutes make after 6 months training everyday. A lot of people say you need rest days etc. to grow. Also what kibd of musculature woild develop as a result. I bet millions of people are curious to see that result

    I use my AbCircle Pro machine.....went into caloric deficient and showed abs in 2 wks...always..sometimes 1 wk..I have had that machine since 2009.....never fails.....gets me back right quickly when I fall off from exercising and healthy diet..I also do wood choppers and use Captain's Chair for lower abs....💯💪.....your hard work paid off that's awesome 🌟 🙂......

    I love the honing in on time, reps and target area. Like this is very attainable. That chart was so bomb lol. Definitely might screenshot it!
    I love core workouts, so this will be nice to consider in how to incorporate some daily movements that CAN give me progress with consistency!

    Hey peeps I thought hey this does not take much time to do so I will try it right now I just finish day two and thought I would comment updates on were I am with it🙃
    Day 1: It as easy for the first two reps then that it was harder for the third fourth rep . . . My core felt like IT WAS ON FIRE
    Day 2: I did three reps and there third one seemed a little easier only did three because I am tired from staying up writing a extra credit paper for class that I stink at so going to fail that class. At least I will hopeful have abs by then though😭
    Day 3: I did three reps they when good other then the fact that I accidentally injure me left leg it would pop ever single one I did and hurt bu that’s not because of the leg lifts
    Day 4: it was just like yesterday my leg still hurts
    Day 5ish: ok so I caught the flu yea not so I didn’t work out for a few day but I am now healthy and back at it today I did two reps of leg lift and one rep of crunches feeling pretty good and it spreed it out more over my core

    Do you have any tips for training your abs without making your waist wider? I naturally have a smaller waist and it gives me shape since I don’t have hips. I don’t want to have abs but look like Spongebob 😩 edit: just want to add that I do ab vacuums already I’m just inconsistent with them

      Abs like spongebob (lol) are given by huge obliques together with a narrow upperbody. My guess is that won't be you since you have a smaller waist. Also, you are pretty lucky with a small waist. If you have no hips, you can do loads of lower body stuff (Steph has a great glute and legs workout on here) and it'll give you some lower body gains. That way, if you're obliques did grow a bit, your butt etc would be bigger.
      Try not to worry. There are not many women with huge obliques that have blocky bodies who are natural.

      Lord Chumpington Thank you for your help! Also yes really good point since most women I’ve seen on the var/stalanzolo are very blocky in the mid section

    Thank you thank you thank you for this!!!! I work full time and so busy with kiddos that this quick ab routine is exactly what i needed! I love love love that you had to work up to using the machines! My hubby would tell me to use the machines but they always hurt my back and they were very difficult for me...probably because I had just had a baby! Thanks again! Love the videos. I can't believe how much you are able to train when going to school so many hours and study..dedicated to fitness!
