    Life saver bro triple A cancelled my appointment twice in the middle of a good ol Florida thunderstorm. Found a paper clip and tried this, after a couple tries it started right up. Thanks 👍🏽

    Well, this is timely and useful information - thank you. Parked my 1991 SC400 over at a buddy's house over a year ago. Went to go get it and a no start condition. I put fresh fuel in the car - still nothing. Starting fluid got it to start but not run, so the problem is fuel related. I will try this, and hopefully I can get it to drive to the house where I have tools to actually work on it. It may still be the fuel pump since fking alcohol in the gas attracts water and allows sh!t to rust even with Sta-bil added to it, but this is certainly worth a try. :)
    I was not looking forward to pulling/towing the car since the front spoiler/cap would need to be removed to avoid damaging it. I would have paid for a tow truck, but it would have to be pulled out of his back yard anyway since his gate is too narrow for a tow truck and it's only a couple of miles to the house.
    I would say that the original problem why I parked it was that I had too many cars, boats, motorcycles, etc, at the house - but let's be honest - the real problem is that I live in the city, and the fking Nazi city code enforcers were going to make my life hell if I didn't move a few... like anyone can have too many boats, cars, and motorcycles. lol

      Follow up...
      Bought an inline fuse holder and jumped the correct connectors, and fired her right up and drove home with zero problems... Saved a tow fee or at least major time and work dragging it home after removing the front spoiler. Many thanks! :)

      I know this post is 9 months old but just in case you are still driving it with a wire or paperclip. Instead of buying a new ECU, you can do what is called ECU Bypass. Its super simple! You can look it up on one of the Lexus forums.

      @@mattm2948 Thanks Matt. I'll look into that. I just used the paper clip to get it home. It had been sitting for almost a year, so once I started cleaning contacts and, etc everything went back to working normally.

      @@kingmike8031 i don't recall exactly but the y were under hood on top of the motor and just 2 wire connector an IO found it on The it internet. it always worked fine after that ... no jumper

    Check your ECM for blown electrolytic capacitors. Notorious for them.

    Ok.. This is what I found. If you have a short to ground somewhere to the fuel pump and jumper B+ to Fp, you can cause a fire and possibly burn your car to the ground as this Fp wire on the OBD1 port is not fused !!! Remember that !! Make sure your jumper from B+ to Fp is fused !!!

    Did the fuel pump kick on as soon as you jumpered B+ to Fp ? Or did you jumper and then turn the key on to make it happen? Let me know. Thanks.

      So I just tried this, and my SC400 fuel pump turns on when I turn my key.

      Darion McClinton As long as there is no short on your Fp wire, there will be no fire !! Make sure to fuse your jumper.

    Ey i got an ls 400 that wife lost the fob still got the metepal metal key part car would r turn over but no start due to the ecu im suee sure anywa after a bout 9months of trying to figure it out toolk out the glove box ecu and and a relay under 5he left side i thought was open circuit relay but was te searts put it all back found this video beforee rthe car would turn over now it wont due that any ideas wwa to check ao i ca try rtye fo b+ trick thanks or how do i get on s the ls or lexus forum

    How boss you have to help out..I took my ecu out after installing new fuel pump....I had 2 ecu's one original that I took out and placed inside my home it sat there for 8 years because I bought a used one from Ebay..car ran good with used one...remember then this car sat for 8..so I sent the ecu that was in car to ECUREPAIR on Ebay they sent it back...said It had corrosion..went to auto computer solutions on Ebay they said send the original so i did..got it back put it in car and the car runs like shit and catalytic converters are glowing

    It's been almost two years since you've posted this. Don't know if you still have the car, but did you ever determine what is making that grinding sound? From my experience it sounds like bearings are going out, most likely on an accessory, most likely the alternator (also perhaps the source of the "whirring" sound). Cheers!

      running rough and high idle maybe because its supposed to be getting a lower fuel pressure at idle

      I ended up doing a 12v mod for now while I’m waiting for my ecu thanks for your help diagnosing my car 👌

      My 2012 tundra had a VSC lamp that tripped after swapping my steering rack... diag bricks don't reset it, paperclip jumps so.... I had a BMW 318 that had the a/c recharged but it won't allow the compressor to turn on and stick in freon if pressure is too low, PAPERCLIP JUMP. Please tell me that you know a "proper" dealer tool will do the exact same thing, albeit electronically.
