Not to bad, from my experience you should have around 650-700hp on that engine with 42 psi. I used to run a Detroit 60 12.7 up sandstone mountain a few times a week. Have a compound turbo set up that will push 90psi and as long as my EGTs were under 1100 i never worried. You really only have to worry about egt and injection timing, and without a custom tune you should be safe. Just as a thought for you my 12.7 has seen well over 100psi at truck pulls on my hot tune and is still running perfectly after 600k miles on the last inframe. 😎

I haven't really messed with the pdi stuff, but there is a UA-cam channel and the guy that does the channel does alot of tuning and uses pdi stuff, the channel is Gentry and sons trucking, I'm sure Tim would be willing to chat with you about this type of stuff

Not so much the head gasket, the problem is the factory head bolts will stretch. Happened on my 3406e and blew the head gasket out so I ended up going with cryogenically treated head bolts torqued to 340 instead of 330 and worked great.
A if I'm rite you can stick a 44mm or bigger waste gate rite after the turbo but your gonna have to weld it in, you can buy an adjustable one those guy at fire punk do that those guys are in Ohio their on UA-cam I know they put it on before the turbo but your manifold doesn't have a spot for it just a suggestion I could be wrong
I might be wrong about this but don't you want to have at least some boost while cruising? like 20psi or something (just above 1 atmosphere at sea level) just to help the combustion
@@TruckingPassion yes I'm aware of that but doesn't that only apply to gasoline engines, as far as I understand diesels works differently because they basically run at wot and you regulate fuel amount with your gaspedal rather than a throttle plate.
Hey bud it is nice to come across your vedios man. I just got myself an 05 w900 as well. High kilometers on the Odometer. I see a weird reading on my turbo boost gage as well. Amma keep an eye on mine too. I was wondering, do you hear bapping sounds from your air dryer?
Not sure what bapping is to be honest....lol As far as your turbo reading, on the 05 if its got a cat motor on it it'll be an accert and those have more boost than my 3406E
My ACERT CAT in my 05' W9 doesn't boost like that, and I got the PDI manifold and both PDI turbos... Cooler has no leaks after it was tested... Hose clamps all tight.. All the turbo pipe clamps are tight... But I don't have the tuner... Used to get an occasional 50 psi on a really hard pull with the stock manifold and old turbos... But this setup boost faster on the compounds, but tail off around 35 pounds... If I stay in it long enough I can touch 40, those numbers are on an empty trailer... Haven't had any load in the trailer yet...
Yep… Had if for about a couple months… The tuner fixed that problem… I have the PDI tuner and have the Power tune running… Makes noticeably more power on less boost… Truck is all good now… Just changing out the old rusty pipes from the turbo back to the stacks… What a pain in the ass of a job…😆@@12felt

Folks were saying theirs were getting reaching 1100 degrees but none actually mentioned how they drive, what trailer or how much weight they’re pulling. You basically have pdi’s full stage 3 kit. How much of a difference did it make on your exhaust temps?

It seemed the heavy haul guys with the tuner, manifold and shorter gears were seeing improvements in mpgs and egts. Long as you stay under the rated torque for the transmission that setup will be very versatile to your truck from being able to pull harder to sipping fule running down the highway. I would use the economy parameters as much as possible with light or empty loads, that's where you will see a considerable difference in fuel mileage. An with the prices of fule these days more mileage=more money in the pocket.

On my PDI the gage goes to 80psi.....I have the boost gage in the middle set as the big gage....the 4 little ones I have my turbo speed, fuel rate, oil psi, oil temp.....

C15 usaualy in Australia they are flat having 550 HP flywheel due to so called emissions and the way CAT Australia has to set them up ... you guys in the states are putting 550 the ground out of the crate ... had the pleasure of driving a Pittsburgh set up C15 here in Australia... 22 tons of tomatoes ON and it would eat other normal C15 running empty ...

I've knocked job's back because it was a Detroit powered truck 😂🤣😂 we bypass the EGR on The Cummins over here and pretty well get them cracking as well for a second choice ... cat stop putting engines in trucks over here in about 2008 -09 until they started building their own trucks which were truly hideous to look at ....

Looking like you need to get a new boost gauge. KW dealers have one that goes to 60 pounds. Then you won't be pegging the gauge all the time.
I'd go with glowshift gauges. Digital ones. Instant readouts.

General rule of thumb is more boost more fuel has to be pumped in too

Mine sits at 70 to 72 when cruising around 1300 rpm and above. That's normal for cats

U can change the pdi gages there's one for the boost so u can actually see what ur boost really is on the PDI ....motor sounds smoother now
