Im from Birmingham but often go to areas like Cradeley Heath, Blackheath and Brierly Hill... Its like stepping back in time and the people I find to be salt of the earth types. The charity shops and markets are the best. Not much else up there mind.

I moved to the black country thirty years ago , the council use to have a bulk collection every year , when that was still happening it seemed there was less fly tipping. From a dy1 resident. Lovely people live here.
There used to be one once a month round by me in the Sandwell borough they stopped them years ago now you have to pay extra for a garden waste collection too

The place that you mentioned in your video, you called it the North was actually officially called Charlemont Farm, West Bromwich. I don't live there but I have worked in those tower blocks back in the 1970s and I have to tell you that it was a very nice place then.I used to work for a company called Telefusion who was the main contractor to install cable television, one of my work colleagues used to live there. The Midlands isn't that bad as I still live there, Wolverhampton lol 👍

Only this week a 13 year old was murdered in the boarder of Rowley Regis/Oldbury. I've seen the decline of Dudley,especially the town centre which began when Merry Hill opened.All the large shops like M and S moved out. The majority of school-aged children are also on free school meals. However, one of the largest employers in the area is DPD.
Yeah........... Based on a few local rumours that I've heard since it happened, the killing of that 13 year old in Oldbury is a complete and utter shit-show. I won't say anything here, but it'll be interesting to see what details are made public when the whole case goes to court (I've got a feeling this is one that'll get swept under the rug pretty quickly 😐)

I've lived in all these areas, the flats in Blakenhall were took down due to people chucking themselves out the windows, these areas are high in certain ethnic races, for some reason they enjoy trouble.

The Lost City is a housing Estate in Tipton known for having 1 road in and 1 road out. You also missed the New Square area of West Bromwich that's where the big stores are and the Astle Retail Park. Also the Baggies fans only recently got done for Hooliganism as there was trouble in the FA Cup against Local rivals Wolves
I live in Wolverhampton and have also lived in Wednesfield, Wednesfield isn't that bad really I'd rather live there than heath town! The west park is lovely I go regularly and it's actually very pleasant I've never had trouble there. I think alot of the fly tipping is because in order to use the local Tip they have been asking for photo ID and proof of residency placing more barriers for people. The council will take larger items but it costs extra for them to take them.
I am sorry but the community is responsible for making where they live a nice place, it seems there is no community spirit anymore, most people look after the area where they live, keep it clean, do not dump rubbish all over the place because they live there. If all these people are not working then what are they doing? why are they not out weeding, cleaning up the rubbish, sweeping the pavements outside there buildings? cleaning up all the graffiti? - It is because they have no self respect. They expect someone else to do it and it is someone else's job. They get no sympathy at all from me, if they choose to live this way and have no respect for where they live then that is down to them.

My ex mother in law lived just up the hill. I had my car vandalised twice. First time they stole the windscreen - YES i said stole! My first kid had been born, and I had to drive to Coventry (30 miles) with the screen held in by black tape, because they had knifed the seal to get the windscreen! You couldn't pay me to go back - though the yellow chips are the only positive!
Tipton was great till they knocked the factories down and built crap houses, to many people moved into the area we weren't born here so you don't know anyone anymore😢
Tbh, people keeping themselves to themselves is how it is in non-rural areas for the most part. I would say Asian areas are more likely to know each other than any other.
I used to live in a tower block in Blakenhall (Wolverhampton) called Phoenix Rise, about 20 years ago there were 6 tower blocks two of which had 17 floors and 4 which had 10 floors in the area known as Blakenhall gardens. 5 were owned by the council and 1 (Phoenix Rise) which was sold to a hosing association. From 2002 they started knocking the blocks down one by one until the last block (Phoenix Rise) was knocked down in 2011. As far as I know there are lots of new build houses there but i haven't been to the area in a number of years
What I don't really get is why would our Govt. and local councils not want to improved our beloved country, instead of letting it run down into a hovel ... it's not the fault of the residents (well, most of them) that these places are so run down. SHAME on the powers that be for creating this mess 🙄 and it is country-wide EXCEPT for the most affluent areas where ppl don't care about others 😮
As someone who was born and raised in Tipton from the late 80s. Tiptons developed back into a charming wonderful town. Also, the lost city, is commonly known for a particular area in Princess End. Not the whole of Tipton. 😅 Tipton has wonderful areas, the canals and national forests around aren't half bad. Yeah it has it's fair share of crimes, but hasn't anywhere else that's low poverty stricken? 😅 people ay half bad either. Whitmore Reans WMC was great in the 70s and 80s. My mum was a barmaid there. They had lots of things going on. The Avion Centre close by was the go to shopping area for locals. Loved growing up there.
The area of west Bromwich that you called the north is known as stone cross ( the area with all the shops) and the high rise flats is charlemont . These areas used to be nice, however gangs have unfortunately moved in.

Walsall has been seriously let down by its council. Youth services are fucked. Education for immigrants is run by volunteers. Police non existent, street racing is a local hobby. Littering is out of control. I live in Palfrey, its not that bad as far as community feel goes. Very mixed ethnicity but mostly the adults get along. The kids are bored and youth services are nonexistent. The local pastime is car racing, gas and weed smoking. Caldmore is a village with a very mixed population. The place would improve if the council made it easier to get about on foot, blocked with parked cars so what could be a vibrant little town centre, its just angry and congested. Walsall is a shit hole but could be sorted out with a willing council leadership. Most locals want it cleaned up, the worst bits are the white working class areas. The more Asian areas like Palfrey are probably more cohesive socially and litter picking parties are busy. We have lots of green spaces here that are under used. Potentially a great place. Side fact, at least 70 languages spoken here. Side fact 2 towns name apparently means valley of the foreign speakers....
Those that voted Brexit, who genuinely believed that scapegoating the EU for all of Britains problems would solve things, need only watch videos like this (or even better, actually visit these areas) to understand that the real enemy were the Tories that pitted people in this country against each other while their austerity measures and corruption destroyed communities and exacerbated widespread poverty.

A one sided view of Tipton which has lots of new housing and all of the old council houses are really well developed and looked after. It's actually a really nice area where people get along. The video has just been made of the older property and he's basically filmed litter. Majority of the shops are newly fitted too.

Well the estate with the block of flats was Charlemont farm but where the shops are, that's Stone Cross.

The reason it's called the lost city is because there WAS only 1 or 2 roads in and out but that's not the case anymore but still retained it's name, I was born and bred around the corner on the rocket pool

The area in the north you mention, is known as Charlemont farm estate. I lived with my ex in one of those flats before renovation. The "posher" ones are all private - hence the cameras. My ex mother in law lived just up the hill. I had my car vandalised twice. First time they stole the windscreen - YES i said stole! My first kid had been born, and I had to drive to Coventry (30 miles) with the screen held in by black tape, because they had knifed the seal to get the windscreen!
You couldn't pay me to go back - though the yellow chips are the only positive!
Tipton was great till they knocked the factories down and built crap houses, to many people moved into the area we weren't born here so you don't know anyone anymore😢
Tbh, people keeping themselves to themselves is how it is in non-rural areas for the most part. I would say Asian areas are more likely to know each other than any other.
I used to live in a tower block in Blakenhall (Wolverhampton) called Phoenix Rise, about 20 years ago there were 6 tower blocks two of which had 17 floors and 4 which had 10 floors in the area known as Blakenhall gardens. 5 were owned by the council and 1 (Phoenix Rise) which was sold to a hosing association. From 2002 they started knocking the blocks down one by one until the last block (Phoenix Rise) was knocked down in 2011. As far as I know there are lots of new build houses there but i haven't been to the area in a number of years

As someone who was born and raised in Tipton from the late 80s. Tiptons developed back into a charming wonderful town.
Also, the lost city, is commonly known for a particular area in Princess End. Not the whole of Tipton. 😅
Tipton has wonderful areas, the canals and national forests around aren't half bad.

Whitmore Reans WMC was great in the 70s and 80s. My mum was a barmaid there. They had lots of things going on. The Avion Centre close by was the go to shopping area for locals. Loved growing up there.
The area of west Bromwich that you called the north is known as stone cross ( the area with all the shops) and the high rise flats is charlemont . These areas used to be nice, however gangs have unfortunately moved in.

lived in dudley my whole life if there's one thing you learn it's that the most dangerous places are the last you look and from what id seen you had not seen the worst here we actually say russels hall and kates hill are nicer areas to live in this town
what tipton misses out on in resources ,funding and a bent local council the people more than make up for ,they are the salt of the earth ,if you know, you know what i mean

Lost City was named because there was one way in and out. Get your facts right.
Walsall has been seriously let down by its council. Youth services are fucked. Education for immigrants is run by volunteers. Police non existent, street racing is a local hobby. Littering is out of control.
I live in Palfrey, its not that bad as far as community feel goes. Very mixed ethnicity but mostly the adults get along. The kids are bored and youth services are nonexistent.
The local pastime is car racing, gas and weed smoking.
Caldmore is a village with a very mixed population. The place would improve if the council made it easier to get about on foot, blocked with parked cars so what could be a vibrant little town centre, its just angry and congested.
Walsall is a shit hole but could be sorted out with a willing council leadership. Most locals want it cleaned up, the worst bits are the white working class areas. The more Asian areas like Palfrey are probably more cohesive socially and litter picking parties are busy.
We have lots of green spaces here that are under used. Potentially a great place.

Those that voted Brexit, who genuinely believed that scapegoating the EU for all of Britains problems would solve things, need only watch videos like this (or even better, actually visit these areas) to understand that the real enemy were the Tories that pitted people in this country against each other while their austerity measures and corruption destroyed communities and exacerbated widespread poverty.

West Bromwich is one of best towns in England. Everybody comes from surrounding areas to the local pubs which serve Indian food. The town centre is developed. He didn't show the new side. What a poor video. Basically just filming litter. Also lots ofbreally nice houses new and old
A few pubs serving decent food doesn't offset the surrounding area being a complete dive 🤦♂️

That's the Lost City Estate as it's known my Dad worked with people of there in the 90's he Wore Armami Clothes that he nicked of the back of the wagon and drove a BMW 5/7 Series from selling all the Stolen goods to people

There is nothing wrong with smoking weed! If the UK would only legalize it, there would be more money in the economy and old people could have their winter fuel allowance! I live in Wednesfield. I lived in Heath town and Whitmoreans. This video makes it sound worse than it actually is but it is any other city/town in UK.
A one sided view of Tipton which has lots of new housing and all of the old council houses are really well developed and looked after. It's actually a really nice area where people get along. The video has just been made of the older property and he's basically filmed litter. Majority of the shops are newly fitted too.
