Secret of Philip is probably that he keeps seeing the world from a child's perspective! Absoutely stunning piece of work once again :) Thanks for sharing and merry christmas to you and all your family!
Mister Bloom, you are a master. Besides the gorgeous images, the music combined with just a sprinkling of live sound brought back our stay on the South Bank.
wow this is amazing work I love this camera you are a master in 2024 from 6 years a go I will buy one now keep the good work going master what a cinematic view pace or creativity
Agh made me homesick. I used to visit both Richmond and the South Bank frequently but alas now live in Alberta, Canada. A simple tale beautifully filmed. Thank you Philip for jolting the nostalgia
Beautiful - so nice to watch a film without over used gimbal and slider shots. This is how I want to shoot - bloody brilliant. Well done Phil 😎 🇬🇧 .. and no that's not a Brexit Union Jack, it's waving the flag for a very talented fellow countryman.
Loved this comment and what a way to shoot - classy, simple and impactful. I'm a brit - asian lad, born here, London and found it sad that you had to add post comment caption - 'not Brexit'. It made me chuckle then sad. Great comment friend, Mr Bloom has the magic.
@@mashudali8482 the union jack is pretty much owned by the conservatives and brexit/far right in Britain - so yes if Im using the flag I will divorce myself from those people
I am sure this is some of the best footage out of the EVA1 solar... Panasonic knows you mostly shoot on Sony but they need to get you to do their marketing videos.....Bravo sir Bravo
I've been trying to shoot this type of video a dozen times after watching some of your earlier clips, all of which have really inspired me.. but the slo-mo of the bubbles here was just superb... beautifully shot... bravo mon vieux c'est le point dans la vidéo où je me suis dit.. Wow !! Excellent !!
Bonjour, c'est super votre video, je me demande quelle objectif, vous avez utilise svp? J'ai une dvx 200, mais la Eva est magnifique, surtout le pique d'image, le profondeur de champs, j'adore, merci. Cordialement.
Wow. Not sure what it is but there is something oddly satisfying about this video. Love the Color grading, the music is phenomenal for a second I thought it was sinner man but it's not.... Brilliant work and best of luck for your future endeavours
Mubarak Abdulrazzaq it doesn’t explain specific settings for each and every camera as that would take hours and be dated quite quickly. The settings I explain are the keys ones. Log, iso, shutter speed etc
Spectacular. This is Philip just shitting something out in a day of shooting while testing a camera. He makes beautiful movies like it's a bodily function.
Marvelous work Phillip :) Love the way you look at things through your lens, its truly a treat! Thank you for sharing this with us. Greetings from, Karachi, Pakistan.
There is something really cinematic looking about this camera. The last shot looks like 35mm Film. Film convert does help in creating the illusion but I still think the camera does very well. Surprisingly clean with neatvideo. Beautiful edit and great optical artifact find.
Aaaargh Phil!! You dont make it easy for someone looking to invest a small fortune into a camera lol. But in all seriousness a masterful job done here sir. I appreciate very much your choice to lock off shots where every frame thus becomes a moving painting. Thankyou for freely sharing your gift with all of us.
BRAVO Philip! I feel like this is one of the most beautiful, artistic pieces I've seen from you - Panasonic must love you for making their camera sing like this. :) By the way, your masterclass is some of the best money I've spent in a while, and I certainly see a lot of your lessons on display here.
Philip can make footage from pretty much any camera look good, but the EVA-1 sure does capture beautiful images. This is an absolutely beautiful short. I'd really love to see a hollywood filmaker use one of these "pro-sumer" cameras on a big full length feature. I think it would be a really cool demonstration of vision and skill over gear.
cheers. i wouldn't call it a pro-sumer camera. this is most definitely a pro camera but just for a lower market than Hollywood. I can't see what you are saying happening as why would they as it would be a compromise over say an Alexa or a RED and if there is big money involved it couldn't happen
Philip Bloom I know it would never happen. I just think it would be neat to see. I have always thought it would be cool maybe to see a film festival where big names like Martin Scorsese or the Coen brothers made short films with cameras like the GH5 or the Sony A7SII. I know it would never happen, I just think it would be neat to see. Thanks for the reply Philip, I'm a huge fan of your work. You're the reason I bought a camera and started filming things!
The image is delicious, amazing job on this Philip, but am I the only one thinking that the EVA1 isn't able to look cinematic? It doesn't have that cinematic "imperfect" touch, even though it looks awesome, perfect, sharp, detailed, crisp quality etc.
This is shot so well, it could be any camera, really. I love the edit too. I clicked to see what the footage of the camera looks like, but what impressed me was the work of the cameraman. Well done.
Great Phillip thanks for this. I really like the image looks very organic which I know is also a result of the picture profile, grain and grade but it all works really well. What profile did you use for this?
Beautiful. I'm always curious whether people walking through the shot hassle you about what you're shooting? Do you give them a card, or play it cool and say you're testing something?
Thanks for the video, that's the type of production that makes us fans of you, .... I wish you hadn't become so commercialized recently, it seems like almost everything you post (at least on FB) is just promoting brands, I've almost un-followed you quite a few times because of it, but.... then you post a video like this to remind us why we like your style and work. :)
hi Daniel, am afraid it is pretty much all in your head! I hardly ever promote brands, I share stuff about kit I am using/ love. The only paid stuff I have posted (other than my masterclass) was from Western Digital back in March. The rest is enthusiasm. Please don't mistake it for "promoting brands" I do tag products/ brands otherwise I just get loads of comments asking what they are.
Well, you're right, I guess I was still under that impression because for a time ( a while ago) on FB it seemed that every post was a product post, but that was a while ago. Anyways, you're a great film maker, love your stuff, keep'm coming.
This may seem a bit odd to ask here - but I noticed a bit of a difference in some of these latest videos; and I can't quite put my finger on it... but feel there is somehow an overall improvement on what I always thought was already superb workmanship. So ... do you feel your doing the Masterclass course has brought something to surface for you, or have you simply been trying some new things? Fantastic as usual Philip... and thanks.
Secret of Philip is probably that he keeps seeing the world from a child's perspective!

I am considering the EVA1 in 2024 as well. It looks like a very capable camera.
@@harlemwoodstudiosit is man. It’s a great camera and image. If you don’t need ibis or open gate. It’s a fantastic camera. Better image than the s1h
Agh made me homesick. I used to visit both Richmond and the South Bank frequently but alas now live in Alberta, Canada. A simple tale beautifully filmed. Thank you Philip for jolting the nostalgia
your documentaries are not only a reportage work but a message written by a man who look at the world through the eyes of a child.
One of the best you have done.
Less art, more mystical feeling.
Less pretention, more revelling in pure visual delight.
This is AMAZING!!! That's visual poetry with beautiful colors and really nice low light capabilities. Mr. Bloom, you're incredibile......
Beautiful - so nice to watch a film without over used gimbal and slider shots. This is how I want to shoot - bloody brilliant. Well done Phil 😎 🇬🇧 .. and no that's not a Brexit Union Jack, it's waving the flag for a very talented fellow countryman.

I have to admit. Great quality!

Utterly and completely inspirational
Bubble pop sound - best sound design in my life. Beautiful, realy! Good camera, and... ISO 2000 - very clean! Wow!
Very beautiful. And stunning quality!
Wow. Not sure what it is but there is something oddly satisfying about this video. Love the Color grading, the music is phenomenal for a second I thought it was sinner man but it's not.... Brilliant work and best of luck for your future endeavours
Even after one year this video is still great
excellent concept and use of a plot device - great compositions - and judicious use of a well timed " pop" foley.
Just Wonderful.
Great cinematic shots, love this camera
the best shot to me is the last one, the telescope with the two women. But in general i love the colors, they are very cinematic. Great job Phil.
Beautiful work Philip! Such a great marriage of cinema and music. Kudos.
How is your cinematography so freaking good!!!
Look at any of his UA-cam work or his courses on mzed.com and you'll learn how! :0)
I paid for that class and it wasn't explaining any of the camera settings at the camera settings chapter
Want to know the secret? I'll tell you. Film everything during the golden hour, and live in Europe where there's interesting people etc. to film. :)
Shoot a hell of a lot, be patient, lock the camera down. expose properly, get shit in focus, be patient.

Beautiful art Philip! I love your choice of music!
Wow beautiful and absolutely full of personality!
Amazing footage. The accompanying music tracks are a great match.
Fantastic imagery
Great work by a Great guy who lives in a Great City.
Ooooohhhh myyyyyyy gosshhhhhh. Can’t wait for the review. That 240fps is so nice!
You are aspiring filmmaker's favorite filmmaker.
Fantastic cinematography, well done.
Night time images are something else! Really good work!
Yet another stunning short film! Loved it!
Beautiful.
I really liked this video. It's given me more inspiration to get out there this weekend and make another video. Thank you!
25,600 iso?? Holy crap!!! What shot?? You couldn't tell at all.
Absolutely marvelous, thank you for sharing that with us, in this part of the world, I am from RECIFE in Brasil South America...
Awesome! love the use of ambient audio. Impressive. Heck of a camera at that price.
This is my favorite of your edits so far, and that is saying something. Truly magical!
Excellent cinematography
Philip this is absolutely stunning. Bravo!
Beautiful video Philip
Beautiful cinematography - christmas present
Spectacular. This is Philip just shitting something out in a day of shooting while testing a camera. He makes beautiful movies like it's a bodily function.
Wonderful shots, low light looks good!
Got high hopes for this camera. Glad to see a test in your hands! Looks excellent.
@ 2:11 The bubble pop slow mo was amazing!
Truly beautiful .. a treat
Wow. Beautiful visuals, but I love your masterful sound design even more. Love this edit to pieces
This camera has an amazing looking image. Great video also. Thanks for sharing Phillip
beautiful work Philip
Nicely done. Really nicely done. Sorry that it took us 10 months to get to it.. Timeless piece.
Excellent work again, Phillip. You had some great compositions. Love your art! 👍
Great storytelling!
Great work Philip like always, keep it up.

Lovely work, and lovely coordinating of image and music--may be the best work of yours I've see regarding that. Inspiring to the artistically inclined.
Nicely done again Mr. Bloom!

It's wild that as I'm heading into my 8th year in video(25 years as a Photographer), I'm picking one of these up used for 1800.
I like this video in general but especially how so often the shot changed on the downbeat of the music; very cool!

yo this is sick
Incredible!
Me: I think I'm getting pretty good.

Me: Everything I've ever done is shit.
Good and amazing
1:26 - The subtle introduction of slow motion and then 1:52 VariCammed.
2:30 - Neat was the hero here.
Excellent! Anyone else catch the hand being the wrong way for the second shot on the telescope?
As always an excellent display Phillip!
Cool video you are getting good at this nice B roll

Enjoyed it very much

This is the only camera I've seen rival arri footage in its color science and wide angles, super 35 sensor
The final shot was incredible. It was acting. Even if it was not.
Loved it!
