I started fly fishing back in the early 1960's and always love to hear all the stories about our history. I had the pleasure of fishing with Bill Curtis before he passed. He did like "his" spot. Since Andy loves to hunt here's a phrase I coined years ago: "I hunt more than I fish, but I fish to hunt". Thank you for all the fantastic podcasts!

Grew up down there in the 60s and 70s . Andy's stories bring back some great memories. Great podcast

Great interview. I did exactly this 15:50 in the late 1990’s before Google Earth and before waterproof satellite maps.

Thanks to Andy I have an unhealthy bonefish addiction. When I was 10 in 1999 my grandfather took me on a charter and Andy was our guide out of ocean reef he had a 16 dolphin superskiff and I caught my first bonefish it was a 8lbs and I was hooked and after he even let me drive the boat back. Today I have a 16 dolphin backcountry and still chasing boners in biscayne bay. Thank you Andy for making an unforgettable experience that I still I will take to the grave with me. I still have pictures of that day

Something Andy said about changing environment, triggered a question...apparently, with the changes we're experiencing, sea levels are supposed to rise. In the past 50 years or so, have y'all seen anything like that? Are the keys losing land or going underwater? Is this really a thing?

@@jakefinn7905 They , NOAA I think, recently just figured out how to more accurately recalibrate, altitude and sea level. Almost all of the 14,000 foot peaks in Colorado are having their elevations changed. Also keep in mind that land masses rise , sink and move.

Next time you see Andy, ask him if he misses working at Turkey Point.

Scotty, the answer is no. I'd probably have more money in the bank had if I had stayed there! But I wouldn't trade it for all the great experiences and people I've met. Hope you're well buddy.

Around 51:00-52:00 is the biggest problem with fishing. Too many of us. All over the country. Even bigger picture is there are too many people on the planet.
