Gotta love the old American made transformer TIGs. I bought a Syncrowave 250 in the fall. It was my first tig welder. I went with it because I don’t want to buy Chinese and I couldn’t afford a new US made TIG. I also like that the Syncrowave is tough and smooth.

The Everlast is the only Chinese machine I'd even consider, but the cost on those is way more than an old transformer machine. Your Syncrowave 250 is a great machine, and I really only upgraded from the Dialarc 250 because this machine had a liquid cooled torch and hand controls.

Dude good job. I got a lot of laughs. I’m a welder by trade. And your vid pretty much answered all my questions!!! I have a 93 250 syncrowave I bought new and a Miller Matic 251 about 20 yrs ago with the digital read out. Was wanting to downsize just to save space in my garage but I think I’m gonna suck it up and just stick with what I have. Have a great day!!

I've always had or worked with at a job ect Lincoln transformer tigs I personally started on a old square wave 175 pro then I moved up to a Lincoln precision 275 (about the best available at the time) well long story short got into doing a different type of work for almost 10 years
Well I decided to start welding again and I didnt have 6-10k to jump into a "pro level" red blue or yellow welder... so many weeks later I decided to buy the primeweld 225x tig.... I'm absolutely shocked how capable a machine it is!! It literally does everything (a little more actually) than my precision 275 that was almost 10k ..and the primeweld was under a 1000 bux to my door!! Name brand torch (ck17flex) good pedal heavy duty ground cable and clamp... I'm just shocked!!! I'm not trying to advertise for them or anything lol but I just cant get over it ... makes me want to look into a Lincoln aspect inverter tig now lol

I hear pretty good things about a lot of the cheaper welder brands, given that the new machines don't require a metric ton of copper to produce I would think that welders would become less expensive. I really like hearing about other people's experience with these machines so thank you for commenting and sharing. I would avoid harbor freight but that's because their "best" tig doesn't have high frequency start or ac(for 900 bucks) and because their cheapest mig is always hot and the trigger only turns the feed on and off(which bothers me a ton). What sort of projects do you typically use your machine for?

I like my Synchrowave 250 [1997] better than the Dynasty 200DX or 280DX, except when having to go on location to weld...

In your testing what you're doing how you said you like the 300 amp better the reason being is that the arc is much more stable in the 300 compared to the other ones. I find that between my primeweld tig225x and my cheap Chinese suseme mts 200 doing sanitary welding.

one thing I hate about all the inverters and Lincoln,Everlast and a few others are the fan running constantly or the majority of the time, the Synchrowave 250 and my Miller Econotig and Millermatic 250mp all have fan on demand.....nice and quiet....as a matter of fact, I welded with the Synchrowave for 2 months before the fan came on....scared me as I thought it was getting ready to blow.......as I had never heard it......

Both my big old millers are always on fans, fan on demand would be nice.

Loyalties aside, the primeweld and ahp machines are just as capable as anything else in the 200ish amp category, and for less than 1k, they're hard to look past. After a water cooler and ck20 torch you're into the rig less than 1500 bucks. Also, Everlast's advanced acdc-pulse is also worth the extra $$$.

That would a a very decent setup for a home shop and the welder you can actually afford and get welding with is always better than the welder you lust after but cant get. I may look like I'm on team blue with welders, but really I'm on team cheap as hell. Thanks for the comment!

Geez 800. I thought my dialarc hf 310 was heavy 😳

I pulled it off the trailer with the Gehl 4610 from the other videos with clamp on forks. I moved verrrrrry slowly as then ass end was definitely a little light. That said, it really welds like butter. Dialarc 310 is no lightweight either though.

@@wirestiresandfires214 they are pretty much the same welder. The newer logo and both can technically do 310amps.

The light inverter welders are the best at getting stolen. If someone can tote off my 350LX, I'm not going stop Paul Bunyan.
