I was there that day on family day. That was one awesome day to experience. I remember hearing on the radio i was in the taxi getting out that he has been ejected from the game that sucked hearing that. My father had Connections with his first cousin. They new each other very well. I got to play on the field throw the ball with the players eat in the dugout Outback Steak house I remember it was. I got to go back in the clubhouse talk with Carl Everett family we just relaxed in the club house sat on the couches watch tv. It was one awesome day and i seats right behind home plate.
Was Everett out of line? No question even though Ron Kulpa is one of the worst and most ego driven umpires I've ever watched. This is the same guy Ortiz went mental on in 2016 in the Bronx.
And Ortiz had a case, Everett didn't. The bases were loaded ,Ortiz was ahead in the count 3-1 and the strike 2 pitch did clip the corner but the catcher fell down catching it so it looked like a ball. Because Ortiz put up a stink, the next pitch was at his ankles and Kulpa ran him up anyway for showing him up.
Everett the former Met. A hothead with an attitude problem. Speaking of hotheads, I want to see the Milton Bradley - Mike winters confrontation again one day. Hopefully some one has it
The simple truth was that Carl Everett frequently stood outside of the batter's Box...too close to the plate. He finally got called on it and had a childish temper tantrum. (And I'm a Sox fan!)
Carl Everett had issues. Very annoying player. I saw this game. Derrick Bell of the Mets came out of the dugout to talk to Everett, too. You can't make up your own batter's box rules. The Carl Everett rule. Wow!!
@@ReflectionOfPerfection Yeah the perfect game part you mentioned sounds about right, cause I can’t imagine any Red Sox fan being upset about not getting Perfect gamed on your home field against the Yankees of all teams to do it to you.
This was likely the first ejection I ever saw on TV; I will never forget that helmet bounce
I've been waiting for someone to have footage of this one.
As an old soul person for 2000, this ejection is wild and hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That was such a soccer reaction to the"headbutt"
I'm surprised they kept him for the 2000 season. He was a maniac in 1999.
he was on the Astros in 1999🤨

This whole series for a interleague series was intense.
Back when ESPN was good and actually reported on SPORTS!!
Jimy Williams skipping back in the dugout is classic.
Carl said “ I don’t see the line so it doesn’t exist”
Ah the Tom Emansky joke from Kenny Mayne. Always classic.
I was sitting behind home plate when this happened! 🤦♂️
Ron Kulpa was a piece of work even in 2000.
Young Ron Kulpa I don't know why Ron Kulpa cracks me up for ejections 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
21 Years Ago
I was 10, at the game, will never forget it.

Broke his wrist when he punched the Gatorade cooler 😂.. actually
22 years later and this guy was loose cannon after this

Carl Everett could hit. I loved him as a Met. That whole mid 90's Mets team could hit. Brogna, Gilkey, Hundley, Kent, etc
And his relatives, Parker Brothers and Hasbro.
"Did not want to have his bodily fluids replenished with liquid" as he punches the container 🤣
One of the few games I didn’t watch love that season. I was so mad.
It's ok. Carl Everett needed Dr Phil.
Yeah, i was watching that on tv.
And i got reminded of it after the recent Tim Anderson foolishness
he is a PERSONAL HERO OF MINE!
Everett, Kulpa, or Williams.

Yup and sometimes the umpires ARE correct.
Ron Kulpa: Mark it zero, Dude.
This guy can give Joaquin Andujar a run for his money.

I’m sure he was suspended and fined. Does anyone know by any chance how many games he was suspended for and what his fine was?
He was suspended for 10 games and fined $5,000 for his outburst.
The 10 game didn’t even matter because he hurt himself punching the Gatorade cooler 😂. Carl was a beast.
I thought it was 30 games, but i might have it confused with something else.
Kenny Mayne is a legend
Welcome to Fenway
Umpire flopped
Gotta love Kulpa's reaction to the headbutt - overdramatic like Lebron. And then he checked his forehead for blood. gtfoh lol.
Everett puts Joaquin Andujar to shame.
Fuera del cajón de bateo
Ron Kulpa was correct though.
Umps floppin like a soccer player
Is anyone really surprised?
Boston fans pretty much turned on the guy after this. We weren't even happy when he broke up Mike Mussina's perfect game the next year.
I was. I've always been a Carl Everett guy. I cheered when he broke up the perfecto

Yup.
Evvvvs
What if a white player did this?
Shut up
They do?
Babe ruth punched an umpire
No they dont
Roid rage
That is some funny commentary....
