Mario sunshine was a gamecube game just like Luigis mansion that just got remade for 3ds captain toad a Wii u game got ported to 3ds so did numerous others it could run just fine on the new 3ds. But that being said Nintendo won't port this to 3ds I'm sure because the controls would probably be to hard to translate to 3ds since it doesn't have pressure sensitive triggers. I can see then one day maybe bringing it to the switch with a new control lay out though.

However, it does have the extra ghosts from the PAL version. (Other versions just increase the damage you take from hits). So yeah, it has extra ghosts. (Which sucks they should've flipped the mansion too).
Even if i played the GC Original, I WANT to see this Game in 3D like the second one on 3DS Most ppl ignore the 3D Option, but i love to see the "deeper perspective" in Games like this one.

@LuigiDude Well, considering the Switch is a handheld hybrid, there will probably be mission based format. It's the same reason why Super Mario Odyssey has moons littered everywhere.

Handheld users tend to play in many short bursts of time, so to make the game not feel like it's dragging on and on, the mission format is designed for at least one or two levels to be completed in a sitting. Again, it's the same reason why Odyssey has moons everywhere; it's so that, no matter how little time you have, you still feel like you accomplished something in your time, rather than just moving a little bit closer to the only thing there is to do. TL;DR: Missions make it easier for handheld users to play at their pace.
Luigi's mansion 3 will indeed release to the nintendo switch in 2019 where you will play as your favorite plumbers little brother Luigi once again. So much i can confirm without spoiling the game

Actually I have this game The reason I buy these because I didn’t have a game cube or Luigis mansion discs so the only way I could do it was to get Luigis mansion 3DS port but I still love the game even with the minor changes one of the reasons is because of all five floors one roof and three floors and one basement I sometimes got stuck in the hidden mansion but it was OK I also bought Luigis mansion dark moon as well I always try to play online but I can’t because no one else is trying to go online but if there’s anyone who wants to join me and help me well go ahead!

I am so glad to see the strobulb as a feature in the original game. I'm also happy to see Nintendo paying homage to Dark Moon while also paying attention to detail by not forcing us to rework our muscle memory.
I got this back on the 3DS eshop in 2019 and played it really fast over maybe 3 days. However, I still have nostalgia over listening to the chuggaconroy gamecube let's play wayyyyyyyy before that (in like 2013) so this game will always be one of those special time capsule experiences to me. I am about to replay from scratch once more, on my (New)3DSXL. Wish me luck!!

I checked my 3ds yesterday and day before that because I couldn't wait till I can play it and really worth it. I never completed the 1st but feels like it's still same but with new things in the game.

Frogmin I don’t know if it’s reversed in this version. From what I’ve heard it’s more ghosts than usual that hit much harder.

I know that Luigi's Mansion 3 was eventually released for the Switch, BUT WHY RELEASE THIS FOR THE 3DS?!

I think you answered your own question. It would have been nice to see the original on Switch, although I'm not complaining.
Because originally this game was used to show off a 3d capable monitor on the GameCube. Makes sense that this is on 3ds to bring that back

Because the install base of the 3ds was much higher than the switch
