Too much spit , emotional outburst. This may not be the principal reason for returning. This only an excuse to prove the point. The country mentioned in here are failed states . This is the point conservatives make when they speak on dangers of immigration. There are some serious lapses in Trudeau."s policies which need to be given immediate attention. In my view India will going in the directions of depressed State - imploding population growth, huge unemployment, decreasing growth rate, decling rupees, decling export quality, social tensions, environmental stress and on the top of everything thing burgeoning debts and huge debt servicing ration. Canada is far better on these counts. So we need to be reasonable and realistic.

I went to TN, Canada in 2015 to pursue my post grads from a top university and learnt very quickly that getting a job in my field, while not impossible, would take a lot of time and money and still wasn't assured. Even my white local friends were themselves floundering in the markets for 5-8 years without a permanent position. Also, I worked at a few desi stores for the initial months and realised that it is Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi store/restaurant-owners that exploit desi kids THE MOST, they think Canada is like the country they left behind and they can carry out their feudal practices in Canada freely. Find a job at a white store like Loblaws or Metro and maybe do some constructions gigs on the side, STAY AWAY from desi stores. I left Canada and came back to India in 2018 and haven’t regretted the decision yet.

    My short story
    both IT background
Husband landed in Canada from his company - March 2023
    I landed in Canada - Sept 2023
(left good package job in India)
Started job hunt immediately after landing. Applied 600+ applications, gave only 3 interviews- all cleared first round, but filtered out in second round just because I don’t have Canada experience. Salary they offer is less for your experience, they say directly, you don’t have canada experience, so can’t give market salary.Even after telling that I’ve worked with Canadian and US clients from India. Still didn’t select- all 3 rejected.
Don’t move if you meet the below,
    1. >1lakh earning per month in India.
    2. If salary in canada is 5k $ per month for two people (without car). Even 6k is not sufficient.
    3. You are foodie. Nothing tastes like India even if you prepare.
    4. Family attachment
    5. Medical issues
    6. Maid ( you have to do everything here) (including furniture set up)
    7. Thinking of saving the money in Canada
    8. Car is necessary here and expensive
    9. Real living expenses is expensive.
Many more. And the list goes on.
Conclusion- going back to India in December 2023. I know I will get job if I wait here, still don’t want to live here. Just that before getting trapped here, moving back to India immediately.

I can totally relate to this man! Me and my toddler came to Canada in March 2023 to Calgary. My husband came last year on a work visa. I have come on an open work permit. I have 10 years of experience in Digital marketing back in India. It's been 8 months since I have not got a single job. I am still okay starting with an entry level job in my field which I am not getting and the survival job I get rejected because I am overqualified. Honestly if you are moving to a developed country for the betterment of life then you don't want to do a survival or labour job. Especially if you have that kind of experience. I feel if you are a couple and your household income per month is 2lac then don't move.

What is the benefit of coming to Canada now?
When Canada opened up in the seventies, there were many advantages to coming to Canada. Back then there was a lot of work in the lumber industry in western Canada and big factories in eastern Canada. In those days, if you were willing to do any work, you would get a job within 8-10 days.
    In 1990, a bachelor apartment went for $500 a month and a one-bedroom was $600 a month.
Almost all would get their 3-4 bedroom house within 10 years.
Groceries used to be so cheap that $200 a month could support the entire family. The telephone bill was $10 per month. A Vancouver-Toronto bus ticket was only $100.
School education was good, children had to give exams. It used to be very easy to see a doctor. Buses were less crowded.
Now the standard of education has gone down so much that children become like robots after finishing school. If you have to go to the hospital, you have to wait for 8-10 hours to see the doctor.
New immigrants find basements for shelter. Getting your own house has become a dream now. Those who have bought houses will have to pay the mortgage for a long time. Many homeowners are paying interest only, there is no reduction in the principal.
Bus service is so sparse that sometimes more than 100 passengers wait for a 38-seater bus.
International students are in a very bad situation. Spend 25-30 lakhs, live 4-5 together in basements and do hard labor jobs (warehousing, retail cashier, security). Even if they do 2 years diploma they do not get any good job, only minimum wage jobs.
Those with good jobs or jobs (income of eighty thousands or more) should come to Canada with a lot of thought, because when they come here, they are all considered workers and they have to find low-paying jobs and have to live in often in basements.
    Prof. Kuldip Pelia
    Surrey, Canada

Living good life is better than living a labour life with no good quality food to eat, eating same meal 3 times a day, depressed life where there is no one to ask about your mental being is the worst thing anyone can face and this is what canada is all about. Just to showoff that someone is living in CANADA is of no use when the other one in Chandigarh is living a luxurious life and you are doing shifts if you get a job by chance in Canada according to current scenario. So, Appreciate India

In addition to my earlier comment, I think it will be really helpful if this podcast interviews people who made it in Canada through their sheer hardwork and determination, who actually came out of their comfort zone, who improved their skills, who didn’t criticize the system much (i know everyone has some bad experiences), who took the challenge, who remained grounded, and had realistic expectations. I firmly believe that audiences of this channel will benefit enormously if they hear such encouraging real stories. Otherwise it much easier to criticize and talk about how wonderful the life was before coming to Canada. By the way Canada is just one country, the story will be same wherever you go outside your home country.

All the people here have gone through sheer hard work and determination and every single one of them came out of their comfort zone. Leaving your home country itself is leaving your comfort zone. Getting a full time job in Canada is sheer hard work. These people have already gone through that. But at the same time they are spitting facts. These are all facts which every single person in Canada goes through. It's not one person's experience. It is every single person's experience. Why should they not talk about it when it's true.

Canadian govt is minting money by allowing too many immigrants to come in, Universities are also minting money by education but after all this due to their reservations even the most professional job seekers from outside get fewer opportunities. Super Rich becoming Middle class and Middle class becoming poorer. So sad. The worst part Indians exploiting Indians. God knows why they call Canada a developed country when they have horrible weather conditions, poor health care services and Cost of living exceptionally high. I have specialist doctors and see them regularly, but to see a gastroenterologist I'm waiting for 5 months. The doctor advised me twice and even went to emergency, they referred me, but not enough technicians to do to test using an endoscope to see my stomach. it is the fault of the system, hospital, and politicians. Most Canadian ministers are not highly or technically educated like PM Justin Trudeau - who worked as a school teacher and is a naive and stupa guy. you can't run a country smartly like Taiwan Singapore Finland, or Sweden. France has the best medical system.

Regarding exploitation, unfortunately this is common which is unfair. One more thing that I have heard is that someone worked for 2 months at a pizza store and he only got paid for 2 weeks. He asked for the remaining 6 weeks and he was told that it was the training and no one pays for it. Imagine he can write on his cv about the pizza store training. This was insane. 3.Those who are not orthodox and can mingle with every type of people of any caste creed religion.

@1.00.15 I respect the opinion of the guest about canada being underdeveloped compared to china. However I am of the opinion that we should have a broader view of what the parameters are for calling a nation developed vs under developed. Also the views about united states being a better place to make more money. I suggest a more holistic view about this. People age and people go through ups and downs during their life. We should not look to keep moving from one place to another depending on the stage of life we are in. Currently you are working age person so you could afford paying for private health care (as in India or United states) however at the same time there will be seniors in your society who will find it difficult to pay for those costs. In both these countries the healthcare provided by the government for people who cannot afford private insurance is in deplorable state. Take the instance of the cost of insulin or diabetes drugs or heart related ailments. I know many seniors in India who are on pensions (from esteemed government institutes) end up paying more than 65% of their pensions towards prescription medication. It is pretty much the same issue in United states.

I think most western countries are now far worse off than many developing countries. The entire proposition of west was Rich, Affluent and a great lifestyle -big house, cars, family, pets, clean environment etc. but this proposition holds true only if 2conditions are met-1. Economy grows at about 4to5% and small population where wealth distribution is not a challenge.
But, most western countries are seeing negative growth and migration to offset that. So it is a double jeopardy. Countries like Canada, Australia, NZ are finished. They don't have much future.

I am a new immigrant who came to Canada in oct 2023 from Dubai , in 2 months i am thinking why i came to Canada and why people in spite of all these information on youtube are coming to Canada , i think canada is a " OVERSOLD DREAM " especially by immigration consultancies who make huge profits , except the beauty of nature and fake " good morning how are you " I don't see anything excitement being in Canada after I physically arrived in Canada , i think canada is at least 20 years behind dubai or even India in some cases and why is Canada called a Developed country ?

Still better than living in India which has 1.4 billion people and everything is so competitive and complicated. Keep standing in queue for everything. So much pollution and corruption. Rich people buy laws and make laws to suck middle class. Thousands of applications just for the post of peon. Canada is far far better if you can get a good job and you are skilled. Atleast your children will live an amazing life in Canada.

Do you know that lakhs of students go to canada every year.
The competition is no different than India. The major difference is India still has jobs while in Canada most white collar job are almost impossible to get post COVID.

Worth coming to Canada, if you are ready to work hard and committed to be successful. Life is never an easy nowhere. Lot of patience and workculture is needed. I dont know why this girl did not use her mandarin because I know there are lot of opportunities for multilingual people. Manadrin is great asset in insurance and banking industry.

Mandarin for what? Most in demand and spoken language is French. There are enough chinese people already. 2nd thing the only people who talk positive about canada are the ones who come from very poor backgrounds back home and refugees..for them canada is wow paradise. Rest of people have seen better circumstances even in poor country like africa not just india

So much negativity in this video. I came to Canada 6 years ago. Almost getting into six figure income. Became a licensed professional again in Canada by clearing lot of challenge exams. People who don't want to work hard are the ones who are crying and telling others that Canada is bad.

You got in easily and settled before the competition was tough.
I guess so people live in denial. Just because they didn't have to slog, they think others slogging is a bad thing.
The high influx of students has made it only worse. The opportunity to the amount of people immigrating is way high. Some people don't want to admit it.
Immigration to US, Canada and Australia was very lucrative maybe 10 years back. My friends who went 5 to 6 years back are doing well. But the ones going to Canada specially post COVID are generally doing bad.
Canada is a dead economy with almost no growth. People should think 3 times before migrating there.

I came to USA in 2000, make couple of million dollars. Invested in good stocks, ETF & mutual funds. Getting decent returns. Now I am Planning to travel worldwide during my early retirement. Don’t go to Canada / Australia. If you are not able to immigrate to USA before you are 23 years old then you better stay put in India.

It was a great podcast. The guy is right regarding struggles that students face. But 2 years is too short period to conclude that there is no market in Canada for small businesses. He might be correct about his industry. I came to Canada 1 year back after completing CA from India. I can vouch for very hot accounting Industry in Canada which comes with the benefit of peace of mind which is less in India if you are a practising Chartered Accountant in India and serve Indian clients only.

I thoroughly enjoy watching your content and strongly believe that you should consider creating a podcast highlighting the positive aspects of Canada. While most of your podcasts feature individuals sharing their experiences and grousing on the negatives of Canada, I can confidently assert that this country has an abundance of positives and precisely those positives led you to choose Canada as your home.
