Awesome video! You just saved me a few bucks! Can’t wait to begin making them. But for clarification: 1. What would the average distance between loops for an adult QH, and a yearling? 2. Do you have a preference of straight or cross tie hobbles. (Left leg to left or front left to rear right?
I personally never use opposite legs because the loose hind could easily step over the line and the pastern then gets hooked up on the sideline and hence a wreck and a rope burned pastern once you untangle the downed horse.
@@wild_mustangs_and_parrots they end up doing that no matter what and they dont go down they just do a three legged fart dance and learn to pay better attention, its really not to big of a deal.
Thanks, as simple is always better but got to have the tape. Only takes one that should have had it but is hot and now ruined. Cuffs on safer all around!
I found your channel 3 days ago and now I’m hooked! I’ve already learned a few things that will surely improve my horses’ livelihoods. Thank you!!
awesome, welcome aboard !
Could you please do a video making the style of hobble you twist and it had a chain link to lock.
sure, that's an easy one
Keep it coming, learning some great stuff. Just finished your book, it was really enjoyable, great for anyone who wants to be a better horseman.
Thank you
Yes book if fantastic read!
Very much appreciate what you've sharing. Excellent book.
thank you
That was cool, never heard of side lines or how they would work on a horse. Cool, sure would help them to know where their feet are
I use them a lot. They do work good
Oh I wish I could get a couple of cans of Copenhagen here in Australia!!!

Great video, Thanks for sharing.

What's the advantage of these over hobbles? Really enjoying your channel, just found it a couple weeks ago and watch a few most nights.

I dont know all the measurements off the top of my head, I just eyeball things. I just go left to left or right to right but either way works.

Hey Bro, now show them in Use!
should have done that yesterday, had about 5 horses cruising around on grass
I'm Tom James out of New Deal TX, a little hiccup of a west Texas town where the wind only blows 364 days a year.
Really enjoy your videos, thanks.
I've driven through New Deal, the wind is always blowing 😂 thank you

I like my cuffs but its good too know how to get by when you're broke or live far from town
Esposas! Run boys or ya'll be hobbled for sure.
Is it a crown knot?
If you want to call it that you are welcome lol. I don't know the name of knots I just know how to tie a few
@@HorsemanshipAsAnArt probably better that way. I can hardy tie my boots 😂
That is a Turks head a least what I was taught
Its a turks head if you finish it by pulling the ends under the knot
