The birkin has a distasteful flap design..and it obstructs the entrance of the bag. I do like the garden party...practical and useful even though the snap closure is nasty.
Have to say I agree, that's why everyone wears their Birkins with the flap open so you can't see it 😂
How did you get your Birkin?
I was offered at the store in Feb 2021. Put in the "wish" in Aug 2020. Purchased a few scarves, Garden Party, Oasis sandals, mini Evelyne & tie while waiting.

if you had the choice of only a Garden Party or a Picotin which would you prefer please?
Depends on your lifestyle but I would say Picotin. It's so cute and fun to take out. It's also really popular right now. The Garden party is more classic and sophisticated but not as chic. The Picotin is the top 5 requested bags at Hermes right now (Birkin, Kelly, Constance, Evelyne and Picotin are the top 5 according to my SA).
