I hope you enjoyed this husk grinding adventure! Make sure to watch until the end to see an up close macro look at this beautiful agate! If you want more husk grinding action, check out this video where we do the same to 6 other agates: ua-cam.com/video/THI0I5aWYMM/v-deo.html
I’ve shown pretty close to no artistic abilities, until working rocks through my tumbler. Natural creations hidden by time and minerals come out like your fantastic little nodule. Your craft on that wheel is impressive, tumbling that little joy might have obliterated much of that detail. Fantastic!
‘I dropped it like it’s hot’ -teehee! Love to have humor mixed in a video. Some people are so dry! That’s not to say their videos aren’t good, it’s just that I DEPEND on humor to get me through my days. So to have beauty and laughter combined? Excellent! This was a beautiful stone! Mother Superior never fails to amaze, no matter what she produces. You are definitely one of my favorite video producers! It’s been really fun to see you take up this ‘hobby’, and all the growth you’ve achieved.☺️ Thanks for sharing!🙋🏻♀️☀️🌈🌊
I admire your ability to restrain from grinding off more of the husk on your recent agate polishing videos. If I had those tools I would probably turn my agate collection into a quartz ball collection. 😁
That is gorgeous! I love that is has water line, fortification banding, a tube/eye and that beautiful 😍 quartz center. The quartz has rainbow colors in it, wow! You did an amazing job polishing it and I love that you left some of the husk on it. It has Everything! Thank you for sharing this Tyler!✌🤠
You did a lovely job on that nodule & really brought out all its details.....you have developed a fine, light touch so as to not take off too much surface. The colors are fantastic, and it is a fine specimen. You have every reason to be proud of the work you have done. Keep up the good work & thanks for sharing your talent & passion.
I love what I call peeling an agate. It's been years since I have done this. I enjoyed watching you do just this. The agate turned out really nice. Keep at it & one day you will have what you imagined it would be. That's the illusive agate for you. I love watching your show & watching you grow. Thank you.
@@AgateDad My marco lense only fits on my zoom lense so that means I have to standing about 5 to 10 ft away for it to work😅 cheaper isn't always better if you don't know much about hardware. Learned the hard way like most of my life lessons🤣 Nah give yourself a pat on the back. Loads of ppl don't get the focus & brightness right for their macro shots. The composition is always spot on too!
Whoop there it is. I know people have this constant conflict between unfinished rocks and altering them. I like both worlds if you never polish them you can't see the real beauty hidden inside. Quartz is what I find most commonly when I cut my agates from my area. Good vid AD.
So beautiful, really enjoying your videos. Keep practicing, those flat spots will eventually disappear with practice. Just keep moving the stone, no stopping. Just some friendly advice.✌&❤
Agate Dad, good morning! I thought your camera work on this video was exceptional and that you did a great job of illustrating your start-to-finish project on this particular specimen. I enjoyed this video with my morning cup of Joe and admire the spirit of adventure and exploration that you promote through your curiosity.
Hi Taylor, that was really interesting, loved the idea of grinding away the husk to see what lay underneath. Couldn’t really see som3 o& those details until right near the end and they are awesome. I can’t help but think what was under the other side. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin
Cool video. I find lots of flint, chert, quartz, Roxbury puddingstone, epidote, unakite and more here in Massachusetts..not sure about agate but I buy a lot of them😉.have fun
That was a great video, but now do we cut or do we grind the husk off. Especially when you get those results. Maybe with bigger rocks a bit of both. Thx for the video enjoyed as always and stay safe and rock ✌👍🇦🇺
Hey Agate Dad, I’ve been a fan of your channel for awhile and enjoy learning about rock hounding and cutting/polishing rocks. Where did you get the poster of the rocks (behind you in the video)? And do you have a good resource that you use to learn of places to rock hound and whether they’re public or private land?
@@AgateDad here in Truth or Consequences New Mexico there is chert and agate everywhere! 15 lb chunks too . lots of arrowheads as well.. The agate is spectacular lots of smokey colors and fiery colors.. I cant wait to get a grinding wheel thing to really enjoy the abundance of agates . Anyways thanks for your content. A road trip is a callin you
I liked that agate. It was a little disappointing because of all that quartz, but an overall success. Keep cutting the true gems are waiting for your attention.😎
I made an agate slice necklace with seed beads and carnelian polished beads. The natural rust color in the agate matched the carnelian beads. I wondered if carnelian was naturally in your agate and others.

Another great video. The nodule turned out really well. Knowing when to stop is an under rated skill.
I agree! We’ve been lucky!

Pink nodule turned a beautiful orange crystal clear quartz beauty! Awesome Taylor. The cabbing machine is so cool. I hope some day to get one.
It’s so fun!
Wow! The stone is amazing!
Very beautiful video!! Thank you for sharing!!
Not what I expected, but very beautiful!
Gorgeous, it's like looking into the soul of the rock

That’s seriously so kind, thank you 🙏
Yep Ice!! I like it!! Definitely an eye.. Definitely worth the grind!!👍🤓
Absolutely!
I definitely think that’s an eye too. Many of the water level agates I’ve found also have eyes.
Wow, you did reveal the agatey goodness, making that agate become its best self. I love that final shot. 💕
I’m glad you did!
I am so glad the algo decided to pop this older video into my feed. Fantastic work!
That turned out great! Love the close up look shows so much.
I’m glad you did!

Wow that last picture shot didn't think I was a going to see some details that close. Awesome agate 👍
Love that you are trying new techniques to keep the original appearance, yet exposing so much of the beautiful details ❣️❣️❣️
Man I love your macro shots! It makes me want to work on my marco photography 👍
Thanks! It’s fun, what I do is pretty basic and simple, glad it’s enjoyable though!

Susan do you have any videos on lapidary work? I would love to know more about this. I didn't see any flat spots on his cab.
Impresionánte!,parecía una piedra normál, y és una joya.
Muy buenos consejos,gracias!
That macro lens is pretty cool. I might have to get one of those for my tumbled rocks.
That is a amazing peice.
I’m waiting on my rock cutter.
Thanks K
What a great piece, love how it finished up. Love the details that were revealed.
It really is, the up close shots really showed how fantastic it is!

It's really pretty. Nice job
Hey, where did you get those large scale agate posters in the background?
Reminds me of a little oyster shell. I keep expecting it to pop open and see a little pearl.
This is spectacular. Great job!
It came out great. The quartz looks like ice…very cool. Thanks.
It looks great, now dop the other side and find the rest of the banding. Great job! Be happy, safe and stay healthy 😷⚒

What fun! And what a lovely mystery it turned out to be. Looks like a perfect circle to me, but I'm not there. Good job!
Pretty stone. It looks like a cowrie shell.
Lovely. That would be a lovely pendant.
It's BEAUTIFUL!!!
Looks great 👍
It may be an eye, either way that is one beautiful nodule. Great job.

That’s beautiful.!! 👍👍
Love your videos! I wish we had Agates in eastern massachusetts! We don’t have many areas other than western ma for Rhodonite and Garnet.
Very pretty and yes, looks like ice. It kinda looks like an eye but I’m not an expert on eyes or tubes.
I love rock surprises!
Hey Tyler how are you today? Awesome video again as always! What is that Green stuff that you use again? Have a great day sir!
Hey! I’m good, it’s Taylor btw 😁 the green stuff is dopping wax 👍
Muy bonita la mezcla de cuarzo y ágata.
This is a nice machine
Quartz balls happen. Good thing quartz isn't that ugly.
You did a beautiful job, you should finish the other side and turn it into a pendant 👍💞💞💞
That sure looked like a clam shell fossil type of rock
It does!

Beautiful!
The “eye” actually seems like a “shock impact mark” from a ancient asteroid or volcano event.
Eye for sure
Oooooou I'm excited!!
I believe the correct phrase is "Dop it like its hot!" 😉
That is SUPER cool!
❤❤❤
So beautiful 😊💙
Wow that is so nice 👍🏻 x
Nice !
Kinda reminds me of a crab
I can see that!
💕
I liked that agate. It was a little disappointing because of all that quartz, but an overall success. Keep cutting the true gems are waiting for your attention.😎
I didn’t find it disappointing, just different than expected. The quartz was fun to look at though 🥰
Right around 7:40 there is a red ॐ under the eye.
If the clear part of the stone is quartz, what is the rust colored part called?
Agate, it’s orange so I’m assuming there’s a lot of iron rich silica in there.
I made an agate slice necklace with seed beads and carnelian polished beads. The natural rust color in the agate matched the carnelian beads. I wondered if carnelian was naturally in your agate and others.
I see the head of a koi fish set in silver!
Same!!
نوعان من الحجر في حجر واحد وهما حجر كوارتز وعقيق سليماني
more presentation of the final product would be interesting.
Risking sounding like a total noob...How do you know a rock such as this is an agate with no visible signs before starting to grind or cut?
