    Comparing 660 to 480 I was expecting more focus on the differences going from 480 LEDs to 660 leds provides. This video spends too much time on irrelevant to the title stuff ( version of the back, soft boxes , etc. ) - save that for a specific product review. The title is misleading as a result.

  • @KurtPapke
    @KurtPapke 4 роки тому +10

    It was hard to compare the light quality of the LED's with your softboxes because the white balance wasn't adjusted to get the same color calibration between the two. If you look at the color of your background it is radically different with the LED's vs the softbox.

    Would the NEEWER 1200 be a better choice since there is twice as many lights as the 660? Especially for an actual shoot rather than strictly for filming myself

    The 480 has the same output as the 660. The 660 should be softer since the LEDs are not as harsh and the light itself is bigger. I picked up the 480s for the portability and price. Thanks for the vid

      neewers website says the 480 outs a max of like 3600 lumens but the 660 says it has a max output of like 19k lumens so im not sure they have the same output i would also think the 480 would be softer since its less lumnes

    • @JamesDBuzzard
      @JamesDBuzzard 3 роки тому +2

      @@postghost6536 I have both lights. 660 is softer due to a bigger source. Both have same output. You won't really notice a difference with either light to be honest. Also idk where neewer gets their specs lol. Find a few video reviews with people with light meters and they will confirm my statements.

    • @JamesDBuzzard
      @JamesDBuzzard 3 роки тому

      @@postghost6536 no you will definitely be good these are not that bright of lights especially when you put a softbox infront of them. I use them in my little UA-cam office setup if you want to see an example of them being used. I use the 660 for my key and the 480 for a kicker/ hair light. Definitely not my favorite lights but they get the job done. The biggest thing that sucks about them is the color accuracy which you can kind of see in my videos

      @Backstageincome  3 роки тому

      Yes actually recently I did pick up some and I do think it does help but as far as the space versus the result I think it's a minimal benefit. If you have the extra space it does help but in general actually I find it's not as necessary

    Always use a set of three lights, key and fills. maybe script it rather than make it up. Leds are way to close, blowing out the hightlights. And the watts thing learn more obout output equivalents, when comparing tubs and leds.

    • @Backstageincome
      @Backstageincome  5 років тому

      You'll need two 660s or bigger to fill a big space without getting the ISO too high. So if you do two zones, you would put 2 on each end and get 4 lights. I wouldn't say they are mega strong for like a church or anything but enough in a big dinning room or living room. If you go bigger then of course you need more light so having two in each spot can help that.

      @@Backstageincome Thanks for the advice, I'm really thinking on get a 3pack of 660s my principal objetive at the moment is to fill a medium stage (20x20 or 30x30 mts). any recomendation on that?

    • @Backstageincome
      @Backstageincome  5 років тому

      Depends how many zones you need to light. If you just need two zones then you may want to get some of the 960 LED (I believe it's the 960) but I like the flexibility of the 660s since you can add two side by side or even three. Or the great news is if one fries or dies sometime in the future we still have the others that work just fine. Maybe you little more flexibility... Personally I have about four 660s and 3 480s and mixing match periodically depending on the setup. Of course I could have went bigger but I'd rather have lights and different zones or multiple zones rather than one or two big ones in one or two areas

      They don’t have daylight only I just looked. These are about 1/10th of the price as the higher end ones that do daylight only.
      I just purchased an extra panel to mount higher and it’s perfect for my UA-cam videos. I have 3 total set all the way up both colors and it’s about 4000k so I have my camera set to match.

    think these are strong enough to light a reception at a wedding?

    • @Backstageincome
      @Backstageincome  4 роки тому

      Depends on the size of the room. And how strong of a light you want in the reception. If you just want subtle dim lighting, Maybe with 8 of them you should be okay because you'll just need to dim them down if you don't want such strong lighting but you'll need them in multiple spots so that's why you might need more lights rather than stronger lights
