I enjoyed this segment. You all should do a this or that segment: oven or microwave, soda or lemonade, coffee or juice, suit or sweat suit, cardio or weights, movie theater or home theater, beach or site seeing, pepsi or coke, moms home cooking smell or fresh laundry smell. Also superlatives segment: funniest teammate, best driver, worst driver, messiest locker, cleanist locker, which teammate is the most honest, quiet, talkative, has everyone back, thoughtful, serious, easy going. Which teammate could you go on a 36 hour road trip with?
But when you think about it, he's a pro athlete, one of the biggest names, I'm sure he doesn't get out much to actually see the culture. It's like Tom Brady, played in Foxboro, but lives in NYC. He's probably more familiar with NYC culture than he is with the greater Boston area.
How you not gonna have ice house? First day when I moved to LA for school I asked my roommate if he wanted to come with me to the ice house and grab a Coke or something and he got a puzzled look and didn't know what in the world I was talking about.
I’m 20 years old, and I’ve lived in Central Texas my whole life. I’ve never heard anyone in Austin, San Antonio, San Marcos, Corpus Christi, Laredo, or Dallas (I’ve been there, Corpus, and Laredo a combined ten times) say “over yonder” in my life. Really my only time crossing paths with “over yonder” is the Disney show Wander Over Yonder and I didn’t even watch it often.
CP3 is from North Carolina and played in New Orleans. Guarantee he's heard almost all of these.
New Orleans ain't Texas
@kdbghost23 Really?
Texas isn't the South either and yet, some things translate. 🤦🏻♂️
You forgot the most important. He already played in texas when he was on the rockets
Dog North Carolina and Texas? What????
He played for the Rockets 🚀 too
from french perspective, it's always nice to expand my compendium of expression for the time i'll go to SA for a Spurs game
Same! We should plan a day for a bunch of worldwide Spurs fans to come support
‘Fixin to’ is literally just finna in modern terms 😂
I've been saying finna all my life. I used to get in trouble for it at school lol
The last one is from the old days when they actually delivered ice for your "refrigerator", the ice box kept your food good.
Lived in SA my whole life never heard anyone say darn tootin except on TV.
Better be some Spanish in this
The fact he was jus saying he learned darn tootin but used it perfectly in that sentence is crazy lol
So crazy🤯🤯🤯
I need to see a part 2 of this and we can start with "Nombre shat up Go Spurs Go!"
Never heard "ice box", south Texas for 27 years
Cause its different in San Antonio I'm from San Antonio and used ice box I'm fixing to but normally is with blacks and whites so it's different
Same lmao
My missisippi grandma would say ice box 🤷🏻♂️
27 years in Texas and you never heard of Ice Box man you Tripping
@@newtontimclark6042 it might be lesser used southern slang ig
Some of these are just general southern slang lol. Where’s the SA specific stuff?
It says Texas slang not san antonio
Shoutout wooskie, good to see he's recovering and got his life together. Went from shooting guns to shooting hoops
This isn’t slang nobody’s walking around in 2024 saying darn tootin
not true
We gon start in 2025 tho
You’re darn tootin’
That’s what you think!
CP3 already lived in Houston when he played with the Rockets, and Harrison already lived in Dallas when he played for the Mavericks.
Yea this is rather dumb. Spurs media department obviously didn’t do their homework.
"Ice Box" is called that because you literally had to buy huge blocks of ice and put it in an insulated conatiner to keep your food fresh longer.
Y'all forgot "nomtonbot".
It means ... "Do you know what I am talking about".
:
I want to see same for Houston and Mavericks legends learning Texas slangs, that will be comedy!!
No one says ice box
Yes.
It’s a white folk word
@@Arekkusu420 no. I'm white.
@@craigjackson1969it is tho, I’ve heard some old ass white people say it

Been in texas from michigan and this shit is craxking me up🤣💀
When I saw “Texas slang” I didn’t imagine ANY of this, lmao
There are so many meanings to “Bless Your Heart” and I’m surprised “hose pipe” wasn’t included. I hope they do a part 2 😂
We need Wemby doing these accents!
Bro… cp3 played in Houston for years…
But when you think about it, he's a pro athlete, one of the biggest names, I'm sure he doesn't get out much to actually see the culture. It's like Tom Brady, played in Foxboro, but lives in NYC. He's probably more familiar with NYC culture than he is with the greater Boston area.
This is Texas slang? Or just old sayings?
shettup
“I reckon’
I thought everyone said ice box I never called it anything other than ice box 😂
Bless your heart sarcastically means, your slow, so bless your heart, because your head is slow
Saying San Antonio is Texas is like saying Fresno is California or Syracuse is New York.
It is and they are. Wtf kind of weird ass comment is this
@@nomaderic😂
You forgot "Mighty Christian of ya."
Meaning GFY.
I’m from California, I only knew Bless your heart 😂

HOUSTON TEXAS BABY 🤘
Cp and wenby are the skinniest people in SA Charles Barkley
I’m calling cap on anybody saying icebox anymore😅
Barnes better not get traded.
Or CP3. Those two vets are making this team a play-in...maybe a 6th seed. But I want 2 lottery picks in 2025.
Ice box is from the 60-70's era when they literally put an ice block in it to keep the food cold
How you not gonna have ice house? First day when I moved to LA for school I asked my roommate if he wanted to come with me to the ice house and grab a Coke or something and he got a puzzled look and didn't know what in the world I was talking about.
