Beautiful performance! I was not familiar with this work, and am so happy to have finally made the time this morning to fully appreciate it. Thank you! The one performance that still makes me smile was when I was playing with a local community orchestra years ago, and I was asked to play the bassoon part with my alto flute on "Por Una Cabeza." It was a small orchestra, only about 25 players, and so we made do with the instruments we had. (These were such great and talented people, too, taking time from their busy lives to come out to practice - sometimes relearn! - and perform gratis for the sheer enjoyment of the music.) The alto came in quite handy for fills, but in the background. This one time was different, however. Not only do I love the piece, but it made me feel a bit special for a change, having that standout part (that altos rarely enjoy, particularly with violins, brass and first flutes around them). At the same time, I was a bit terrified to be in such a place. I was a regular liturgical flutist at the time, so performance was not the issue. But standing out in the orchestra and hoping to be heard *and* not twist the fingers up or have some other kerfuffle that would throw everyone else off was quite a different matter than just me and a delightfully adaptable accompanying pianist on Sunday morning! Thankfully, it turned out well on performance night. 😊 It was a great experience - and certainly made me braver thereafter!

I'm a professional Hard rock / metal bass guitar player, I'm not sure how your videos showed up on my UA-cam but I'm hooked, you are a wonderful musician. I think picking flute would of made my highschool musical experience better. Perhaps I will have time to learn the insturment in my life at some point

My dream would be to play in an orchestra for Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story Musical score. And I’d love Gustavo Dudamel to be the conductor. The music you played Amelie is not the type of music I would usually listen to but because it was you playing, I decided I’d listen through to the end and I must say I enjoyed it immensely. Thank you, I will be listening to more of this kind of music.
