The key is NEVER engage with a stranger online. NEVER answer unsolicited messages.
I love *VortexTrace* literally a breath of fresh air we need more of him..
The most common one I get is a random text from someone about an appointment or flight details.
I once responded back they had the wrong number... then they started in with the “ your so nice”, thank you for telling me, etc. Next thing I know they were sending me sunrise photos, then a photo of some random person saying. It was them.
Off to being Blocked they went. Clearly it was the start of scam.

It's very simple. If a stranger text you, 99% chance it's a scammer. If the stranger then asks you to move to another chat platform (e.g. whatsapp, line, wechat, etc), then 99.9% chance it's a scammer. If he then asks for money or shows you how to invest, then 100% scam.
My mom was scammed. She sent $50000 cash. Fortunately she called you right after dropping the package off at UPS and you was able to retrieve it after it left the bill. These people are the lowest of the low, what you and your team is doing is a real blessing. THANK YOU *GRIND TECHIEI* ! P.S. my mom's had several scam calls since, but now she enjoys playing with them.... hoping she'll get more calls. Maybe she'll join you someday in the People's Center’

Great content Azul, had a friend and a brother that got took by these scams. Tried to warn them but the scammers are so good, that we couldn't convince them.

My wife and I compare the frequent Facebook friend requests we get. She gets the dudes that are pilots or doctors. Usually pictured with a dog. I get the women that often have Slavic sounding names and feature chesty photos. We get a good laugh out of them.
thanks for keeping people up to date in case they are not in the know. More importantly it highlights a societal problem with disconnection with people. Connect up with people you know in person. The unfortunate part is that it was not intended to be sarcasm. We are really missing to eye to eye connection even with family friends and neighbors.
Quite honestly I get theses texts every few days. My default is just to mark as spam and block the number. I used to have some fun sending outrageous answers to their questions, never revealing any personal information. Now that I understand that a lot of these perpetrators are doing this against their will, I just report the spam and block it. Nowadays the algorithms on our phones are so good that if I get a text message in a format that the phone app can recognize, it automatically gets sent to spam.
Not gonna lie, it really feels like we get far fewer scam from scammers nowadays, I can only assume it's cus of the awesome work of people like you stopping them. *GrindTechiei* thank you for that, please keep going. Hopefully governments can get behind what you do and help make it an even bigger thing to stop scams for good..

After a friend's wife passed on, he got into one of these online dating scams. He was lonely, the scammer played on this. She started by asking for a little bit of money. Once he sent that money, she knew she had a new "pig" to lead to slaughter. It's also called the "foot in the door" strategy. Once someone does a small favor, they will do it again, and again. Eventually, the scammer asked for a large sum of money. The friend didn't have much, but he sent her more and more money. Everyone he knew warned him it was a scam, but his heart was in it, and he wouldn't listen to reason. He lost almost everything and had to move in with his sister and he husband, until he passed. He just wouldn't listen.

The romance scammer thing is sad. Some people get so lonely and crave a connection to someone that cares about them. Makes them more vulnerable to make bad decisions. Loneliness is a b*&ch.
I also have heard that they play to our desire to help and would ask for our assistance.
My mother in law is busy being scammed post divorce. We have told her all the evidence but she refuses to listen she says "he is a good man" and "he is offended that you call him a scammer".
"He" is a model and an engineer and has promised to visit at Christmas and New Years but couldnt make it due to "contracts" that got extended in Dubai of all places.
She send him $350 per month and have paid for other items for his "daughter" whom she is emailing on a regular basis.
When asking him what does the daughter look like? He says he is private and can't show her 😂
It feels like we live in a movie. She has already isolated some of her friends that don't support her scam of a boyfriend and her telegram was hacked. Exactly what the scammer wants...

This stuff is scary and is only going to get worse as AI gets better. People will be able to take digital calls with fake digital avatars to make it seem more legit. The chat bots will get better. It will be scary going forward.

I've been scammed twice. Thank goodness it never had any huge financial consequences ($100 both times). My funding/credit sources were able to nullify and reverse both instances. I still feel like an idiot for falling for the scams and I sympathize with anyone who's been duped. I've takin to the habit of checking ALL of my vulnerable accounts (bank/credit) on a daily basis for suspicious activity.
Just the once for me for $300 and I felt such an idiot.
I consider myself a thorough researcher yet I never even bothered to simply google the company.
As soon as I did after I’d sent the money my heart dropped as there were hoards of Reddit comments calling them SCAMMERS.
I lost the money but some poor people had sent them tens of thousands of dollars.
Lesson learned.

As long as you dont want anything, they cant do anything. People lose because of greed, i used to play this game with a few scammers on Facebook, i just waste their time since the beginning and watch their reactions. They are so dumb in my perspective. Same tactic like you said. They will disappear once they give up, its good to play the game with them to waste their time.
Yep get one a month. I immediately send them a text back asking for money and they don’t text back.
I receive these random texts frequently. Not hard to recognize as a scam.

This exact thing just happened to a family member through Facebook. This can happen to any of us. These people find, target the heart strings of people, gain their trust... even love. This family member lost entire life savings. Just like Azul said got them to invest in crypto...they are sick and vile people.

Its a real shame but no, I haven't had one of these emails in quite a while. I used to love getting these and playing with rhe scammers. I guess they dont want to play anymore.

I love this GrindTechiei and, you are a freaking legend dude! I love the recovery's ,videos and the angry scammers and the hacking of their wallet but I absolutely love these videos where you help the victims in real time. I don't have much confidence in this scammer "coming to the good side" so to speak but I hope you come out with more ideas like this, stopping the scams with the victims involved!!

I recieved a WhatsApp message that turned out to be a scam, it was so obvious. I lead them along for a couple of days for the entertainment value😂

I’ve been approached about crypto currency in a message. We talked a while but i didn’t put any effort to do it. It was a very attractive woman who had a good living according to the pictures. Did not spend any money. But I see if you are looking to make social connections where you can be scammed.
