I love visiting Van Winden's with you!!! Their staff are so knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks, Janey, Aileen, and Van Winden's for allowing us to tag along, you always bring so much information on great topics.
I love these tours and knowledge at the nurseries! I don’t live in California but I love learning about Trees, plants, etc. Thank you!
I’m 72, live in a condo now, and only garden in containers. I’ve never had an orchard or fruit trees. However, Aileen makes me want to have an orchard. This was a wonderful and educational video! Thank you so much to Janey, Aileen, and Van Winden’s!
Thanks for the feedback! And it you're interested in growing a peach/ nectarine, or berry in a container we are happy to help you. :)
This was so fun to watch. I live in Napa and van Windens is where I buy all my plants.
Aileen is truly a blessing to the garden community! I wish we had her in our town! 👍🏻💕🦋🌻🌼
Don’t you just want to take Aileen home with you! Always so fun and interesting.
Nothing like a virtual trip to wine country on a January morning 🤩
I’m just putting in fruit tree guilds ❤
Aileen and Janey, thank you. Always the best teaching. I learn what I didn't even know I needed to know. Blessings on your day.
Yes, Aileen is so easy to understand! Very common sense gardening knowledge.
Aileen is always so informative and fun to be with.

Thank you Eileen.. so much great information..and a smile. Thank you Janey❤🌷❤
Thank you Janey for info❤please do not buy fruit trees from online, I got scam twice, I paid $$$.❤ Always go to garden center to check the fruit trees❤
It's rare to have a great informed employee at a nursery, never been to a nursery where staff was that helpful, she is the best, was I lived closer.
Good morning my friend Janey 🌺. Wonderfu Eileen .This beautiful peach tree it will be amazing in your garden and its frowers are charming also Janey plant Quince tree or shrub from it and enjoy seeing its unique flowers , and also making delicious jam from its fruits . Have agreat day . 🌻🌺🌻
So, what did you get? Aileen is so knowledgeable and adds comments from personal experience. Great interview/tutorial.
I wish I had a place like Van Winden's even an hr from me. I'd love to see Aileen's garden, berries and potatoes oh my, must be a dream.
Oh my goodness , Aileen is so amazing she knows everything and she talks with normal words so you can understand what's going on. I did not know this about bare root fruit trees and berries. I have thrones blackberries planted along a six foot cow panel that my uncle grew in coffee cans. They just are so sour, but so easy to manage. Also he started peach tree's in plastic coffee can that he gave me. I have had them planted for 4 years and they are so pitiful and they had 2 blooms on one of the 5 trees I have planted last spring. It came a very late hard frost and froze them. They had to leaf back out. And then the baby deers ate all the leafs off as far up as they could. They are some sad looking trees😅.The dee and their babies ate quite a bit of my flowers last year. They are so hunger. Them old wild hogs are thick where I live in northeast Oklahoma, they are staving the whitetail to death. I need help.😅😅😅lol. Thank you so much Janie for all the hard work you do to help all of us.❤
Aileen is such a wealth of information! She always shares her knowledge in such an engaging, fun and easy to understand way. I wish I lived near Van Winden's. This video was so informative, I learned a lot. Now I feel a little less intimated to plant a fruit tree. Maybe this is the year!
Make it happen! :)
Love her. She is so informative. Thank you for sharing. ❤
So much good information. Thanks
Thank You Aileen 💕
Waiting to see what you bought! Roses too. So informative.

This was such a wonderful video so informative. During my spring break week I'm going to definitely head out to Napa to visit this wonderful nursery! I live less than an hour away
See you soon! Spring is just around the corner!
This was lovely!
Love this! Can Aileen put the February 4th class on line so we can sign up watch?
Field trip to Eilens home garden
Thank you again Aileen! So much great information! What did you get Janey??
Growing potatoes is SO easy. Do it in pots and when you harvest it’s like a treasure hunt. 😂
TRUTH! :D
Morning
Donut peach is the best
You should try growing potatoes. It’s easy and fun to harvest.
Great information! Very helpful…thanks. 🌳M
Good morning. So much interesting information!
This was super helpful, thank you! 🙏🏾
I NEED a Saturn peach tree. They are so yummy!!!
YES they're absolutely amazing!
@@vanwindensgardencenter The question is....can we fit one in our carry on to fly home? We are coming to visit you in March when we visit Janey!
Thanks for this video it was very informative..
Dang, so I have 2 buy 2 more blueberry bush trees. I brought 1 last year and it's in a pot ,but im planning to plant it in my yard.
I also have a few orange trees ,and 1 fig tree.
We have a few wild blackberry vines on our fence, but I wanna get a thron less one too.
We have 1 grape vine ,I wanna get another grape vine .
I also wanna get a raspberry vine or 2 as well.
I love fruit smoothies and my goal is to have my yard provide fruit and im working on doing veggie gardens as well as my flower beds..
That's a great goal to have!
❤❤❤
It's amazing how many fruit trees you can grow in your Zone 9b we are Zone 9b bordering 10a in SWFL and do not have any where near as much chill hours as you all do. My son really wants an apple tree but we just don't get the chill hours needed.
Perhaps an 'Anna' apple?
@@vanwindensgardencenter thank you so much. I will look into the Anna Apple
A great informative video, Aileen is very knowledgeable. Hope you were able to purchase some new future yummy fruit😊
Gmorning Janey, does peachtree grows in extra warm climate? Like Suriname, South America?
Janey, given how shallow the bare root fruit trees are planted, is staking something that needs to be done? If yes whats the proper way to do it?
If you are worried about the tree tipping over due to the wind then a loose stake would be helpful, yes!
Hire her to come prune! One evening! 😊😊😊😊
What is the type of pruning called where you chop the peach tree down so low? I would like to do some research on that amazing idea!
Knee high pruning
I wonder if they offer lifetime warranty on their trees like Armstrong’s nursery in California…after you pay for shipping and handling to van winden for a bare root tree you probably get the same tree from Armstrong with a lifetime warranty….the difference is that Armstrong does not sell bare root trees they plant the tree in containers and when you buy them they are already established….cal poly university both in southern and Northern California sell the same trees in containers…Lowe’s is another source for bare root trees ….all of this leads me to believe that some giant nursery is developing the bare root fruit trees somewhere in USA and it is not Monrovia nurseries….and by the way anything you attach the word “Napa” to costs more money…
How can I email Aileen?
I purchased a Peach tree last year and put it in a 20 inch pot. The tree is about 4 to 5 feet high. #1 should I prune it now. #2 is it ok to stay in the pot. Thanks
Send us pictures and we are happy to give you tips!
