In reality, football used to be much more racist before. I don't know when you fell in love with the sport, but the 80's, 90's they were terrible times, even in Europe which is now posing as the superior moral standard. Argentina is lagging behind in many ways, stuck where Europe was back then. But you don't see that in society, which is friendly and inclusive. Football there is just the outlet for people, they show their worst side there and football is what the world knows about Argentina more than anything else.

For those who STILL don't know why they added 15+ mins in Argentina v Morocco match, it was because fans kept invading the field (mostly Morocco fans) and that's why it was needed to add those minutes. No one talks nor want to talk about why such amount of time was added, it would rather be to only spread missinformation or people that didn't even saw that match and thought that it was only to benefit Argentina. It was really a shame the way it ended and the organization didn't even acted on to cancel the match, and it was obvious they did not conceed the last Argentine goal because the French hates us, but anyway... they lost the most important match and the Olympics doesn't affect us at all. For those who STILL don't know why they added 15+ mins in Argentina v Morocco match, it was because fans kept invading the field (mostly Morocco fans) and that's why it was needed to add those minutes.
No one talks nor want to talk about why such amount of time was added, it would rather be to only spread missinformation or people that didn't even saw that match and thought that it was only to benefit Argentina. It was really a shame the way it ended and the organization didn't even acted on to cancel the match, and it was obvious they did not conceed the last Argentine goal because the French hates us, but anyway... they lost the most important match and the Olympics doesn't affect us at all. So, while these football players with foreign parents that were born in France ARE french citizens... Most children born in France of foreign parents are not french citizens, and are actually treated like scum by the government (look up what they did prior to the Olympics, as an example).
The song can be interpreted in a racist way, and for that it shouldn't be sung, and it's completely wrong that it was. But the real meaning of the song is more about denouncing France's abuse of their African colonies, and that without the resources taken from there they'd be nothing.
