I like the lid drop test. My regular wood humidor has a very good seal. The air pressure from the lid closing slows down the lid dropping a lot. And it’s was pretty cheap also. Was like $90 for a 120 capacity. I forget the brand. I’ve had it for like 15 years. I’ve been in a lot of cigar shops and have checked out lots of humidors. I’ve seen some very expensive ones that have such a crappy seal. I highly recommend buying a wooden humidor in person and not online so you can test the seal. If you do choose to order online make sure they have a very good return policy.
You can use a sealant to do that but you must keep the humidor lid open & in a well ventilated area until the sealant dries thoroughly. I’m personally not a big fan of that process but if you need to salvage the humidor then go for it.
I tested this when my humidor was new. My bill pulled the humidor. A couple of months later, i did the same test. Now the bill doesnt move the humidor and slides right out...
Not sure I'd stick a filthy piece of paper money in or on my humidor, but good tips!! I use pyrex with a Spanish cedar Boveda pack caddy, at least for now. I want to save up, and eventually take a page out of Winston Churchill's book, building my own humidor. His was said to hold 2,000 sticks 😂 What a legend!!
Can't get my eyes off that humidification system in action on the background, Beautiful.
Same thing I said man beautiful makes me think those cigars are extra flavorful
Legend. That's a beautiful humidor
Only sounds nicer than a humidor thud is the ping of an S.T. Dupont lighter 🥰
Awesome tips! I’m off to test mine now…

Great tip, especially the dollar bill trick.
Thank you! Good to know.
Anthony what do you think about caulking around the glass seams of a glasstop humidor?

Brilliant
So what do you do if the dollar bill just comes out? Like how do you fix that?
Reseasoning your humidor should do the trick 👍
@@holtscigars it's an old Fairfax brand humidor.

Sounds like your humidor could use a re-season
The old timer probably used a hundo 😂
Okay so how you fix that ?
Seasoning your humidor will help in most cases

Dollars are so dirty... please don't put them in your humidor.
I got a humidifier and a dehumidifier for my birthday. I put them both in my room and let them fight it out.
My seal is not great.. Now what?
Season your humidor
