I came here for some ASMR and perhaps learn a little about math. But 5 hours and 40 minutes later, I now understand what the root cause of my alcoholism is and why my wife left me. I have begun seeing a therapist and have started wearing pants on a semi-regular basis again. This man, without a doubt, changed my life for the better.

my daughter got her PhD from MIT and I enjoyed visiting a few of her classes. I wanted to attend a few of her classes taught by someone that had won the Nobel Prize. I actually answered a QUESTION. Everyone else had understood almost everything, but I had only understood ONE THING, so when the answer was the only thing I understood, I beat everyone else to the answer! Fascinating. One student just knit during the entire class (a male) as he needed something to sort of focus part of his attention...so he could pay attention to the class.

Most, and when I say "most" I do not exaggerate, of the people in the course literally slept in their seats through the lectures. I forced myself to stay awake and take good notes. It was a painful effort, but I aced the course.

I remember when I was young, and had to go out to work as soon as I possibly could to look after my brother & my mother after my father died, working as what was known as a ‘painter & decorator ‘ in an apprenticeship. Feeding my hunger for reading in dribs & drabs at lunch breaks , or Saturday trips to the library. And feeling so overwhelmed , and delighted , to be able to ‘sneak’ in a listen to professors in amphitheatres whenever we had a contract to work in the university. The glares & sniggers of the students made me so ashamed & embarrassed, though, that I often had to make myself scarce as quickly as possible. And now I can finally have the opportunity to sit down and listen, I disturbed. Thank you, UA-cam.
