So, I'm not a reseller, but I've been trying to sell ~150 pieces from my own closet that have been taking up valuable space. I thought this whole steaming/ironing, doing minor repairs, photographing, listing thing was a walk in the park. Let me tell you, I am EXHAUSTED. It's so tedious. You make this look EASY, McKenzie!
I absolutely love your videos. You are a young woman that has kept me focus and on track with my resale business. I am retired and I’ve been resealing for 18 months and I have learned so much from you. I use to just sit and watch your videos but now I put them on while I’m listing. So while you’re talking I’m listing, so it’s kind of like on the job training 😊 thank you so very much for what you have done for me and my business. And I know that you have helped many others. My sales have increased and the posher VA that I use, because of you has really paid for itself. Keep up the good work. RM
Thank you for mentioning the importance of our job!! I put up a short video on the high prices at my regular goodwill store and people jumped on me saying that I am the one causing the problem and stealing from "poor" people 🤦♀️ I didn't know I was single handedly responsible for inflation 😂😂
People who complain are so ignorant. They really haven’t a clue. Let’s talk about the mileage, gas prices, our time, THEN steaming, taking pictures, researching and listing. It is a lot of work! Good thing I love thrifting!
I love how you use your imagination with the clothes, from your elaborate outing ideas to how the new and like-new pieces might have found their way to the bins. As I've mentioned before we have similar taste, so I have fun seeing your hauls and sales!
Chico's flies for me too! I would have NEVER guessed about Chico's and J. Jill but you gave me that tip. I knew Talbots was amazing but they are all in that same category. I would have thought J. Crew would be better but it truly is the mature pieces that move the best.
You are very lucky to have those Goodwill bins. I live in a suburb in NY and our Goodwill does not have that. Right now, shirts are $5.99, pants $7.99, etc. I'm glad that they aren't all different prices, but wish they were a little lower so I could make a bigger profit, although I'm grateful for what I can get!
I agree I am very grateful for the bins too as our regular goodwill prices items too high to make much profit. And really like how you mention all the qualities of the items you are selling and mentioning the keywords. Don’t worry about repeating them as it helps me remember the keywords so I will use them! Thanks 😊
I am so happy I found your videos! I'm looking into restarting reselling again. I work full-time and needing a part-time job. And this just makes sense. I've hired my two teens to help a bit if needed. So many different brands that I've possibly overlooked! So Thank you for all the information you provide!
So true about keeping things out of the landfill! It always helps me keep going to remember that and it makes me feel good to be keeping what I can from going to the landfill.
I watch your videos on when you thrift and when you ship. I enjoy seeing what you find because it could be something I am looking for. I watch your listings to see when it is listed. Resellers are awesome. It inspires me when I purge my wardrobe to list my items in case someone may want my things. ❤🥰
I always love watching your videos. ❤️ you are inspirational. I’m new about a year in and with 2 little kids but you remind me to put in the work and make t worth it
Same here mamas! Two kiddos that demand my attention during the day so photographing and listing at night is the name of the game lol. Good luck and keep up the hard work!
You’re the highlight of my week 😂…so cute ..such a good eye for the cutest sellable items..no Goodwill bins here in central Pa, but my Goodwill is huge and decent pricing and discount sales, so you can make money on bread and butter! Thank you for your inspiration ❤
Apparently there is a documentary out there where the clothes we send to other countries ends up in thrown in their waters whether it be ocean or rivers
OMG so funny, you and your coffee-fueld gabbyness. You're so great, it's fun to see more of your (coffee-fueled personality). I still need to know what your background/education was/is that gave you so MUCH fashion/fabric/construction/styling knowledge. 🤔 I am very old, and made many of my own clothes back in the 70s & 80s, so I learned about fabrics, cuts and terms that way... but what about you? Spill.
haha! I worked at Nordstrom for a while in college but I mostly learned what I know just from handling thousands and thousands of items over the years :) and I watch a lot of youtube videos/documentaries.
I like the gabbing lol. The fur collar cape reminds me of a 1970s Vegas mob bosses wife love it and the mens blazer screams New Orleans lawyer lol Love your pieces ❤️ they all make me think of who's wearing it 😊
Re the Brooks bros linen jacket...sad...but have you considered marketing to women's closet as well? I'm doing it with a Calvin Klein cotton silk blend jacket and put a turtleneck under and cinched with a wide belt since big jackets are still on trend.
I sold Erika at a department store in the mid 90s. We used to get TONS of those and sold them for around 20-25$. Lol it’s so weird to see them selling again.
I would LOVE to know the source and description of your packing paper. I’ve seen newsprint on Amazon, but your paper looks a lot more sturdy and large. Thank you!
My sales on Poshmark are slooooooow….😢 Trying to sell my Mom’s good costume jewelry. I don’t think I’ve sold anything on Poshmark in the last year. What is your secret? 😂
hope this comment gets to you. it appears to me you are spending way too much on shipping using priority so much. idk if that is a requirement via posh/mercar etc but if you check what items are under the 1lb mark, they can go first class "ground advantage now" and the box priority stuff can go out via cubic rate using sites like pirateship (requires box-in-a-bag/polyvinyl bags). you can look it up yourself and find plenty of reputable resellers making videos recommending this and i've done it hundreds of times and they support usps and ups. glad for your success and wish someone like you lived near me so i could try to consign a lot of stuff i come across but let go due to not having a posh/mercar etc account built up. started but not done much with. keep up the good work! - btw, if what i've said doesn't save you at least hundreds of dollars over the course of the next year after i make this post, i'll probably keel over dead!
Poshmark has a flat rate for all packages under 5 lbs. they have an agreement with USPS and Poshmark sellers can choose to give a shipping discount or not. They cannot ship with any other service.
Yes poshmark has a pre-negotiated rate with USPS so everything ships on their platform for a flat price if it's under 5 lbs. & if you want to consign the clothing you find, I recommend looking into Flyp! You can take quick photos of lots of clothing you want to sell and then a reseller can sell it all for you and you get a percentage of the profits. Or the reseller can buy the lot outright.
sounds good. i know your system works but never a bad idea to price/cost check things from time-to-time and THANKS for the rec for flyp. :)@@Mcthriftzie
I've had chicos items listed for forever it seems and they don't move for me. I don't get it. NWT Large Cardigan and a pair of capris and neither have gained any interest.
I don't have an outlet where I live, only a regular Goodwill that is pricing a lot of their items at 6.99. I'm pretty new to this but I wonder if driving the 170 miles to my closest outlet like once a month would be worth it. It gets discouraging thinking I won't be able to be successful since I don't have an outlet ☹
My closest bins are about that far away. I just make a day of it. Pack a lunch, dig for the morning. Lunch break and then back to it for the afternoon. I break up the drive home and stop to treat myself to dinner. I have 2 littles so the drive and time alone is like a treat + cheap inventory + writing off mileage. I definitely think it is worth it!
Yes I would say it's worth it and would help you bring down the average cost of your inventory, BUT it is also doable to shop at regular goodwills alone. They made up a large part of my sourcing before we got outlets in Houston. You just have to be very strategic and keep up to date with what is selling best
The only thing at my bins are garbage. Literally. I can not beleive the clothes you get there... Where do these come from? All these Anthro clothes, I cant even find them even at the regular goodwill! I live in a very expensive area too. I dont understand? Anyone have any ideas? again, my bins is like the stuff you would see in a garbage pile on the side of the road. I tried, a few times. Its def not clothes like this! not even one piece. anyone???
Haha if you’ve only been a few times then that’s prob why. I shop pretty much every night for 2-3 hours at a time sifting through thousands of items. 98% of it is garbage - you have to invest a lot of time and energy to find the gems!
You do an awesome job saving these beautiful clothes for others and giving them a second chance at looking great!!! Luv watching your videos…find it very relaxing plus learn about the different brands and what they’re worth!!!😊🤍🖤🤍🫶🏽🫶🏽
Gab away. We love you just the way you are and every video you put out is another gift.

@material_girl8394 Yeah, that irks me every time I see that commercial!! Such a joke. 🤪😂
haha yes it is a loooot of hard work and hours, but they say if you love what you do you'll never work a day in your life 😉
Hard to belive
Right now, you are the only UA-cam reseller that I watch for “Sold” video. Your video is so informative and worth watching.
Last time you replied to me that you looked COMP for the brand that you don't know at the bin. Do you also use Google Lens at the bin? TIA.

I feel you on this! If anything, people should direct their ire at the stores themselves. Looking at you, Goodwill, trying to get $7+ for tee shirts.
@@meganpetty223 exactly!!!

I had no idea i could watch youtube app on the tv. Kenzie is a tv star now.❤😊
Love the long videos ! It motivates me to list and I stay on the treadmill for an hour 😂😂😊 ~jc

Great sales and even better gabbing! Love that feeling when the coffee kicks in! Can't wait to see your next round of sales!
This was such an informative and fun video! Gabby McKenzie is super entertaining 🙂
So true about keeping things out of the landfill! It always helps me keep going to remember that and it makes me feel good to be keeping what I can from going to the landfill.
Those knee boots are beautiful especially for $18. Someone got a deal.
They sold for $29!

I love saving stuff from the landfill and giving it new life!!
Love your videos. My biggest gems are found in the older bins. Or when people dump clothes before heading to the cash register.
Yay! I bought the Uniqlo black sweater! It is a quality closet staple! Thank you McKenzie!
Thank you so much for shopping with me again :)

I just found a pair of jeans today, gonna see how well they do for me !

I literally just sold a Hot topic blouse like that with trumpet sleeves. It was floral print though cropped and it sold for $30 in a week
The fur cape is beautiful I bought that too!
I bought the mustard linen one too! It’s beautiful
Hi, love your shirt, I have the same one for sale in my closet 😊. Great video as always!
Received the beautiful Soft Surroundings Open Front Kimono today! I love it- thank you so much!❤❤
yay so glad you are loving it, thank you!!

Great video! Do you type all of those key words on the title or description? Also, is that a food scale that you use?
I add them to both a lot of the time! & the scale is linked in the description :)
I want to resell as well, but I am not too sure on something. Do you wash all the clothes you get at goodwill or thrift shops? Thanks!
everything is steamed! steaming kills germs and sanitizes
I missed that adorable horse cardigan for girls - was hoping to get as christmas present - next time I will not sleep on an item like that
I found a new tag j.crew shirt recently too and I was so thankful I knew it was a new tag from your education. Thank you!
Re the Brooks bros linen jacket...sad...but have you considered marketing to women's closet as well? I'm doing it with a Calvin Klein cotton silk blend jacket and put a turtleneck under and cinched with a wide belt since big jackets are still on trend.

Thank you for your videos I love watching and learning from them !!
You are so welcome!
I tried buying two of your amazing items but I was too late lol love your videos
I just love your channel!!!!
yay thank you!!
Saying that the men's linen jacket was a steal is an understatement.
I think it went to a viewer, since she has said several times $28 is her target price.
The buyer of that jacket could have flipped it themselves and still made a nice profit.
Love your videos, they are so helpful. Random question, do you know if plus size clothing sells well?
yes it does!
I would LOVE to know the source and description of your packing paper. I’ve seen newsprint on Amazon, but your paper looks a lot more sturdy and large. Thank you!
She has it linked in the video description 😊
mine is from UHAUL :)
15:20 You didn't say what the JJill sweater bundle sold for.
Where did you buy the t-shirt you are wearing?
at a local market in Houston but I think you could easily find one online!!
LOL retailers may have become stricter on return policies. especially expensive items are final sale.
My sales on Poshmark are slooooooow….😢 Trying to sell my Mom’s good costume jewelry. I don’t think I’ve sold anything on Poshmark in the last year. What is your secret? 😂
there might not be a huge market on poshmark for costume jewelry - I sell a ton of lululemon, anthro, free people, etc.
hope this comment gets to you. it appears to me you are spending way too much on shipping using priority so much. idk if that is a requirement via posh/mercar etc but if you check what items are under the 1lb mark, they can go first class "ground advantage now" and the box priority stuff can go out via cubic rate using sites like pirateship (requires box-in-a-bag/polyvinyl bags). you can look it up yourself and find plenty of reputable resellers making videos recommending this and i've done it hundreds of times and they support usps and ups. glad for your success and wish someone like you lived near me so i could try to consign a lot of stuff i come across but let go due to not having a posh/mercar etc account built up. started but not done much with. keep up the good work! - btw, if what i've said doesn't save you at least hundreds of dollars over the course of the next year after i make this post, i'll probably keel over dead!
I believe she is only selling on poshmark. Sellers don't pay for shipping on posh.
Poshmark has a flat rate for all packages under 5 lbs. they have an agreement with USPS and Poshmark sellers can choose to give a shipping discount or not. They cannot ship with any other service.

UA-camrs can sell brands more easily so you can’t compare it to you. It’ll take some time to sell since it’s a saturated brand.
Love the top!!
thank you!
I see sincerely Jules often at TJ Maxx still
Yay, Kenz!
Can someone explain keywords to me. Is it the same as tags? Do they go in the title? Help. Lol
they are like tags, yes. I put them everywhere!
I remember when I used to make this much
Love your video's! You're so inspiring! Also, keep " gabbing" love to hear details, ect! ❤
