    Lovely video as ever, and quite a comprehensive overview of Tono & Lims! I'm really enjoying your new multi-ink review format :)
    It's a bit hidden in plain sight, but the Tono & Lims Crossover Line inks have a QR code inside the box that let you listen to the classic music each one represents. Just an interesting little easter egg with those inks.
    Also, I can't wait to read your future collaborative blog post on ink wetness. It's a topic that fascinates me, but I haven't found a lot of data on it.

    P.S. Thank you for the callout to our shop!

      Thank you. I was wondering what that QR code was for! Hahaha! At least I got the classical music part right.
      The three of us are still trying to come up with a common definition of "wetness" and "dryness"--it's that complicated.

I will have to get some of their shimmer inks an d definitely Hematite. 😍 BTW, Tono & Lims is a Japanese brand made in collaboration with a South Korea ink company (Lim's lab). As someone mentioned below, Lim is a Korean last name. Hope this helps. 😄

    Inky, many thanks again for this really informative video. Never heard of this ink collab before, and I just love the variety of lines/themes for their inks. In particular I am ready dip pen in hand (as soon as/ if they reach the UK) to try the waterproof ink line. I also just love the frivolity and feyness (magical) of the ink properties they are offering. It's making me think outside the box as to how to use them eg. Doodles/ drawings half in one visible ink, the other half in fluorescent or ink only visible with black light!, That could be one way to reveal a picture slowly by changing the light source. What fun. Thank you again.

    • @InkyRocks
      @InkyRocks  4 роки тому

      I'm so glad you like it. I really like mixing inks in separate bottles to try different combinations so that if it doesn't work out, I haven't wasted the whole bottle. I think some of their fluorescent inks might be fun to try that. Their waterproof inks are actually pretty fountain pen friendly, it is just that one had glitter in it too, but it's been in my Preppy for two weeks and is still working fine! Your ideas sound cool. Thank you so much for your supportive comment!

    Very pretty video! Tono & Lims inks are all over Japanese social media so I've been interested in a lot of them, but they're kind of expensive for the amount of ink you get so I've only bought a few. I really like the shimmer inks.
    They also always have so many event-only inks and store collaborations that make me envious since I can't go to them. Every time I see their event announcements there are so many limited inks, so I wonder how many inks they've made in total. The Towazakura and Sakuya-hime inks you showed are really lovely.

    Well, it's been 17 minutes in, and I still don't fully grasp why these inks exist. They clearly aren't for writing, and from what I've seen, they're noticeably above the market price-wise? Especially for a fidgeting toy niche they fit in so nicely.

    • @InkyRocks
      @InkyRocks  4 роки тому +3

      They exist because people like them. I explain "ink numa" or the "ink swamp" here in Japan in my last video. You have to wait in line for some of these inks, and with supply and demand, the price has found it's level. Most of their inks are quite suited for fountain pen writing--I just do extreme tests on them. I use all of them in my fountain pens except for the two glass pen ones, and I use them in my Pilot Parallels.
