    I am a writer living in Korea. This song is guided by introducing Annabel lee on our website. It's a sad and beautiful song. I finished a novel after listening to your songs. It's a story of a man who misses his dead wife and is conflicted between new love and revenge. Thanks to the song, I was able to complete the novel. Thank you. You are my muse

    As a foreigner, never knew why this poem is so famous in English literature, but now I can see its value in this beautiful song well-tuned to the poem of the Great Man. The composer of this song is a great talent of an artist, and I wish the seed grows to a big tree. So beautiful so great, so wonderful a song it is.
    Edgar would have been greatly pleased to hear his words meet heavenly sound of music.

    I stumbled upon this while working on my Literary Critique Essay on the poem. It's one of my favorite poems, not just by Poe, but favorites period. This song is absolutely gorgeous and emphasizes a point I was making on the musical quality of the poem. Your voice is absolutely ethereal and exquisite work with the violin,piano, and guitar. Big applause for you and your sister. Hope she got an A.

    I could never express my admiration for your work!
    Not only is your voice softly sweepig me off my feet, placing me on the whitest of all clouds, but it furthermore manages to grasp the meaning of one of my favourite poems in a way I could have never imagined. As soon as I have finished studying my pupil will hear this and they will once more understand that poetry is beautiful, filled with emotions and not 'boring'.
    This is the most amazing musical version of a poem I have ever had the pleasure of listening to.
    You are amazing! It is a privilege listening to this song.

      gils102 Dear gils102, there is no need to thank me at all. You have done something incredible and deserve to get credit to get credit and recognition for doing so! I might not be old, wise or know much about music, but I do know something about the wonders of poetry and its effects. If someone manages to grasp that beauty and inspire people by doing so... I am the one without words.

    From the first time I encountered this poem, when I reread it in the years since then, I imagined it set to a similar melody sung by a men’s choir in a style more like a sea chanty sung by sailors, (with not so many sweet high notes). This was a pleasantly eerie experience to hear it realized (with some sweet high notes). Well done!

    • @gils102
      @gils102  5 років тому

      Alfred Smith thank you! That would be a cool take on the poem too - it would definitely make for a haunting sea chanty

    your voice is so fitting for this song oh my gosh. my friend at school recommended i look this up because i wanted a dark classical love song to audition for regional choir with, but i need to provide sheet music to the judges and pianist, so sadly i'll have to find another piece. nonetheless, this was beautiful and dark and i loved every bit of it.

    Very good. This is more like how Poe should sound in music-form. Melancholy and romantic. It's better to use a minor-key to get that feeling. Some versions are in major, which to me just sounds wrong.

    This is hauntingly beautiful...that's the only way I can put this. I've been listening to this (between your channel and your sister's to try and split the views between you two) nonstop for weeks. It definitely helps me in the process of memorizing Poe's works. Do you two have any intentions of creating musical renditions of more of his work?

      +PKIllusion1 wow, thank you so much! I find it easier to memorize words put to music too. We do not have any immediate plans to make more musical versions of his work, and we have other irons in the fire right now, but it has crossed our minds... so maybe later on we'll think about it more seriously!

    I have to ask. after the 1000 time I hear this song, and siriously this is an amazing song. what is your name? how old are you ? it may sound a little disterving but it kind of wierd to me the fact that I know nothing about the singer who sing the song that I probably heard the most times in the pass two month.
