Possibly the greatest album ever written! Severely underrated and underplayed...I was 13 when this came out...I'm 50 now and this album hits me just the same as it did then... brilliant and lyrically unsurpassed. Fish is the Shakespeare of Rock N Roll....🤘🐺🤘

I kept this album and group as one more hidden gem that my friends never knew about. I just assumed because Fish wasn’t skinny and pretty America never bothered to pursue this amazingly talented band. That and lacklustre promotion? Or not enough “Kayleigh” singles to give them more airplay on US radio and MTV? Who cares - 40 years on and they can still fill good sized venues with appreciative fans.

I have to lift my hat to the man that even after surgery that might could have cost him his voice or even more, he climbs to the stage once more. Yes, his voice is not what it was 30 years ago, but it's not even suppose to be the same - we all fade away gradually and that's Fish's right too. There's only one but: he's songs and poetry will live forever :)

Its just like being in love I was 15, you had mullet and a fish earing..it was total lust. It was the poetry that turned it to love, and as we both grew older, 'the song remains the same '. You know it's real love because it's still here decades later you still write love- songs for me. The music hasn't changed and you are allowed to grow and be wiser. A diary of my teenage years, maturity ♥ you move with me, stay with me, grow old with me. You are a viking child,

I doubt he'd ever come to America ( California [ San Francisco] ) to perform but I'd go see him if ever he did! He is unknown here. I have told several friends to check out Marillian. The ones who have listened were not disappointed! I'm a Rush fanatic and they have always been my favorite band, but I discovered just only a few years ago, Marillian and I was blown away... I think they are up there in the same league as Rush, Yes, Pink Floyd, and the rest of the great progressive rock bands of the same era! Fish was a major piece of that band. I like some of his solo stuff he's done since he left as well.

I listened misplaced probably 10 hundred times, which is the less needed to realy appreciate it.... thank you Marillion and mister Fish!

how freakin amazing is this. Lots of worries about Derek's voice online - nothing to worry about here!!!! such a shame Frank Usher has gone tho' - he's a fabulous guitarist.
I have followed Marillion since 'The Thieving Magpie' (my first album) and entirely love everything about them. Fish era (Script, Fugazi, B-Sides & Clutching) was ABSOLUTELY awesome, but then Steve H came along and made a great thing amazing. Seasons End is a classic!!! Love Fish, Love Marillion, Love Steve Rothery (he's me best guitarist so he is) and love Marillion again - This Strange Engine rocks my world xx

Soy un gran fan de fihs y lo tengo que decir perdió toda su hermosa voz se le nota el gran esfuerzo para interpretar hasta creo que es doloroso para el intentar cantar

saw this tour in 2005 in Crewe Cheshire and fish looked blown away at the volume the crowd sang back every single lyric to childhood section I think we actually drowned out the band at some points, what a buzz to be part of the crowd that night

Fantastic! I had the pleasure of meeting the great man after this set in Stourbridge, West Midlands about 11 years ago, got my MC sleeve signed by him and had a good chat. He told me off for calling him Deek LOL!
