  • Silver Spike here with a video on crushing samples sent to me from an individual residing in the state of Kentucky. He sent me some ore to process to find out if any precious metals were locked inside. This was the first video where I tested my newly rebuilt ball mill. Now with a fully functional motor on a rebuilt frame. The motor came off an old electric craftsman snow blower, I had just completed the rebuild before receiving the samples. I processed eight pounds and crushed all of it. I followed up with a run through the sluice box to reduce the sample to the concentrates. I dried the concentrates and completed a smelt. The results were not ideal and a lot of work was put into this video only to yield no precious metals. Thank you for watching Silver Spike Prospecting, share your thoughts, give a thumbs up, subscribe for more and have an awesome day.

You got sent junk lol.🤣🤣 It looked liked stained concrete to me. No wonder why nothing came out after the smelt.

How long does it take to get it crushed down that fine?

We had those in the refinery. Lots of different ball sizes

I currently use two different sizes, 2 1/2 and 2 inch. I need to throw a few other sizes in there.

@@smokeyandspikeproductions those are solid. Maybe get the small ones for super fine results... but then again since you work outside you may have wind issues lol

@@aaronbaron3155 as long as I have access to 120 volt electricity, I can crush ore anywhere. Even with a generator right outside of the mine.

@@smokeyandspikeproductions that's pretty awesome. Also cool to see steps I never got to do in the refinery. I've burned, melted, dissolved, extracted, and blasted.. but I like what you're doing.
