Let's talk about why you don't have to niche down like you think you do. Niching is a complicated thing but it doesn't have to be.

I'm someone who has many interests too. What helped me was realizing that I don't have to monetize everything. Every hobby, passion, or idea doesn't have to be a side hustle or a business. I totally agree that when you niche too much, it can get repetitive. Getting clear on the who you want to serve was a really helpful tip. Thanks much 💕 "I'm so excited" 😉
Love how to simplified the idea of "niching down." I've been confused about this idea of niche for years, and tried to focus on teaching a certain skill because that's what I thought it is before. Now, I'm focused on the "who"
Yea my instagram followers started to unfollow me as soon as I start being my self and share a more creative style content. It’s so wild 😂
My biggest struggle right now is that I'm a digital artist/llustrator and I know that I'm good at it and that it's what I want to do for a living, but I don't know what "problem" that should solve, not to mention which people would be having that problem and what they would need from me. I feel so stupid when I watch videos like this, because this video is really great and informative but I'm on absolute-level-one-where-do-I-even-start mode as far as starting my own business and (eventually) having multiple streams of income. I feel like I should have already figured that part out but it just won't "click" for me.

Hey Jessica... thanks! I agree... there's a lot of criss crossing, and it makes perfect sense.
For some of us who share ALL of our skills, there can very well be solid skills and lesson videos that apply to more than one group, and fall into more than one content pillar.
Moreover, several content pillars might apply to one niche audience, and those same content pillars might also apply to other niche audiences, who share that topic.
... I think eventually I'll share all my experiences as free knowledge for everyone on my main channel (this channel), from the personal development and music industry and social media sides, and then if there are very specific instructional videos on a certain topic, then share those on other specific channels.

Finally! I AM so excited! I've found an explanation that makes sense to me! I've been struggling with this for years and it's really been holding me back. This is an incredible way to "work past" whatever blockage I've been feeling. I didn't know how to even "just start". I've been followiing you for a few years now and find you very entertaining while providing the information I've been looking for! And thank YOU for getting the niches pronunciation right! This isn't the first time I've heard the idea of niching to your ideal audience and not a topic. When I first heard this advice, it was a very freeing, Aha moment! Thank you for reiterating that! It has made content creation so much easier. Now if I can just find the extra two or three hours in my day to film and edit videos!

I needed this video so much! I have a pretty successful freelance writing business but I keep hearing NICHE DOWN.. and I’m afraid to miss out on jobs bc I boxed myself into one tiny niche. But your analogy of half dug holes makes so much sense! I guess it’s time I DIG IN and take a leap of faith. I want to double my monthly income and I know that means raising my rates with some of my older clients who helped me get where I am. So it scares the &?$&@ out of me!

Very helpful video! I used to have another channel where I niched down too much and I got bored with it and stopped making videos. So that didn't work. I'm all about total lifestyle, which gives me a lot of creative freedom for content, but I know who my "who" is and can target my wide range of content to that person. Also, I 100% support your way of saying niche, as I say it the same because it's totally the "right" way to say it. Right?! I am so excited! 😊 So, I'm wanting to reach homeschool parents (specifically the unschooling/deschooling type). My main focus has always been the importance of writing, including the need to incorporate organic, powerful writing opportunities into a homeschool family's existing curriculum and content. My pillars could be: harassing the power of writing/embedding into curriculum, parent/child enjoyment of homeschooling, organization/scheduling homeschool days, and behind the scenes. Is that focused enough on the same audience (homeschool parents) with the same problem (lack of real opportunities to write and learn through writing and too much stress trying to do homeschooing "right")?

I’m not a pastor but since “others” is the focus of our spiritual development, if you simply add the word others after benefit, I think you’ve then got it. That’s all it took for it to resonate with me. I love what you’re doing. But listen to your own voice. This assignment was given to YOU! If that’s not what you’re after, and no response from others yet, stay with it til you get what you’re after. It’s work that is probably more important than everything else that we all think is so important. Lol. Excited for you!!
