But Ghost of Tsushima was always built as a console-first product with its proprietary game engine and related tools, so how has the transition to a foreign platform been for the developer? How does it perform on our test hardware and how consistent does the performance remain across different test conditions? The fact that everybody is going crazy about finally receiving a decent PC port for 60$ says a lot about today's gaming scene... They gave us a 4 year old game that includes all the DLCs and bonuses so far, and they made sure that it works properly. Shouldn't that be THE LEAST you can give someone for that money? Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that someone finally did it right. But this should be a normal thing, not mind-blowing rare occurrence...

I’d argue it’s more of a Sony issue then an industry wide issue. The vast majority of pc ports come out working just fine and we never hear a thing about them. Almost all the major complaints about bad ports in the past few years have been almost exclusively Sony games.
@@nandoman4769 Haha I just installed Granblue Fantasy Relink the other day (which is also a PS port if I'm not wrong) and my GPU is heating up twice as much as when I'm playing ANY OTHER GAME. And this game has anime graphics, so it shouldn't be demanding at all. So yeah, looks like you're right. :D

I just bought my first gaming pc. RTX 3080 and a Ryzen 5 with 32gb of RAM. If I already have the directors cut on PS5, should I buy it again? Is it worth it? Plan on upgrading the CPU by the end of the year. Any help is appreciated, I’m new to PC gaming.

Runs smooth on a 4070 Super. Maxed out its maintaining 130 fps at 1440p without a single stutter.
Have the same card. Runs extremely well indeed.
On a 3060 Ti maintaining 90ish fps with most settings on high at 1440P (with DLSS of course)
Don't lie, that's not with all settings maxed out with dlaa, no dlss, and no frame generation, I get 130fps 1440p on 4090 gpu at 98-100% allways

You really don't, superb visuals and audio aside it's a very average game with frustrating combat and a by the numbers story, also infected with Sweet Baby Inc woke politics. Kratos himself is a pitiful shadow of his former self. The original GoW games were much better.

@@applecorpso why not play the old games? I think the new game style is just as good. Kratos staying angry in every single game wouldn't make sense and would get boring. The combat is great, especially in the boss fights.
I don't get why og GoW fans can't grasp the concept of Kratos getting a story arc.
Also at 3:48 PC version does not have sparks or they are barely in the background lol
Finished this 2 times now on PC. New game plus is just fun. Waiting on GOW 2 and spiderman 2, though there was a leaked unfinished port of spiderman 2 on pc 😅
4070,1440p,Very High, locked at 144fps, it stays there 99% of the time with the worse dip at 138fps !!! But the best thing is..... NO STTUTERING !!!!! HALLELUJAH !!!

@@zeitgeistx5239 You must have not touched this game, I bought this and pre ordered this game day one the game looked stunning as heck on PS4 Pro, then once it was on PS5 the buttery smooth 60fps changed the way you look and play the game completely. The fact you're telling this guy that his standards are low is pretty low of you. The game was stunning back then and if he is happy about this game then what is your problem exactly, must you disrespect people because they are happy? or are you one of those Sony PlayStation players that dislikes PC fans getting our games? shaking my head at you right now.

Does anyone else have an issue after using some features in the UI or changing graphics settings, the fps drops significantly until you restart the game?
Yes, there are some setting you can change that break the config and only restarting can fix it. Usually anything related to AA or DLAA will reliably break it.
I keep wondering if this would run on my potato AMD unified graphics 5500U laptop?
Just buy the game, play it under 2hrs, then refund if it cant.

I ran max settings without DLSS on 4080, I7 13700k was getting a consistent 110 on a 34inc ultra wide OLED monitor without any problem. My main problem was that I have a Xbox elite controller not ps5, so I had some limitations on gameplay.
They really should add control changes to fix that lol

The game, as the other PSN games, are greatly ported. Runs smooth and looks beautiful, all settings at the highest at 1440p here, with +200 fps at all times. Only bug I've had is in standoffs, where a few times it wouldn't react to the hold, other than that it runs perfectly.
Great games like this, reminds me what I love about gaming. (though, I do wish I could skip cutscenes).
If you want to skip cutscenes you can try new game plus save file available on nexus mods

My 5800x3d/3080TI/5440x1440 does a good job. FSR gets me to my desired framerate of 120hz but it has huge dips down to 3fps and locks the game up. Playing with it off at very high with some ultra and targeting 90ish frames with DSR set to 120.

Idk how it is for everyone but I simply rode my horse at the beginning of act II and stumbled upon a peasant who told me about a village where people were going crazy, went there, killed some Mongols and it unlocked Iki island
iki is for after the game is finished fool
There's a village in act 2 with a singing shaman along the cost on the left side of the island, you'll be locked into iki island tho until you finish a certain quest.
Found it. Thanks. While clearing a village near akitmatsu some villager gave me a quest and now I can see it on the map
Been enjoying this game thoroughly since its release, I played it on the PS5 and it looked amazing and remember thinking “I can only imagine what the pc versions going to look like” playing with a 4080super with 5800x3d is way overkill, get solid frame times 120 fps 4k max settings and while screen capping
RTX 2060 running at 125-130 fps on Very High 1080p Settings with DLSS Quality + FSR Frame Generation. The only place I noticed that drops very low to 60-70 fps is the hot spring area. DLSS Quality without FSR Frame Generation in the hot spring area is 35-40 fps, that place I don't want to go back again. LOL It traumatized my RTX 2060, I always avoid games and places that hurts my GPU.

Yeah this is a known issue in recent ports, there's another game from Sony exclusive Horizon Forbidden west wherein, textures are somehow better in PS5 but might have changed by now.
They will probably resolve this issue in this game.
It's always like that, I'm not sure why. YT compression? I'm currently playing it on a 4090 after playing it on a PS5. Unfortunately as it goes with a lot of comparisons, you would have to see it with your own eyes or no one is really going to show you. Whether that's intentional or not, I have no idea. Many use pretty heavy upscaling on PC when doing comparisons to PS5 as well. I also noticed the brightness looked pretty high on the PC version (HDR settings not right?) in the beginning scene that I didn't see like that at all when I started playing. So everyone simply has and uses different settings and configs on PC which may not represent a real comparison and leaves PC usually looking watered down.

@@cameronjones4331expect generated frames and pixels will never be the real thing. You’re getting input lag and the FPS will never be truly fixed. You’re also playing a ps4 game in 2024. So be quiet
@@raf686from what I’ve seen you can get more fps at a lower resolution or you can go to a higher resolution at a lower fps. But you can’t emulate the ps5 pseudo 4K locked 60 exactly
The PS5 has a 6800xt if you want to compare.
Anyone has RTX4070 laptop? mine running at 60-80FPS on the highest available settings. Not sure if my card is underperforming.

@travisleonhart3371 How can I check how much my GPU usage is while im gaming? When I alt+tab to open task manager, the GPU process drops (I think cause the game is minimized), so I cant get an accurate reading.

@@Daniel-ld3hm Alt + R does it for me on my Nvidia card. May have to use Alt + X (I think it is) to bring up the in game Nvidia menu and configure your Alt + R but it should pop up anyways and give you fps plus GPU usage.

Looks good on the 4090. Getting about 112-120fps on native 4k DLAA w/ FG with all the settings maxed out to ultra. Eventually I'm going to load it back up on my PS5 as I usually do to see the differences that somehow YT videos never seem to accurately do.
So I guess the game looks the same on pc on current hardware as it does on the ps5 running on near 4 year old hardware. Cool.

This has to be the most beautiful and responsive port I have ever played.
Controls are spot on,even when using KB/M.
The visuals are absolutely amazing.....Im running this baby in 4k,high settings,and Im completely in awe at the beauty.

Generally depends on your monitor. Something you'd have to experiment with.
Subjectively, I find it troubling you are using dynamic resolution scaling in a graphics comparison, but it's your video. I've also had weird artifacts with XeGTAO so I use SSAO Quality or HBAO+, it looks better overall.
That being said my 5800X3D + RX6800 is getting entering high refresh rate territory at 1440p Native. And with FS3 Quality at 4K, it looks really great, over 60fps all settings cranked Except very high shadows instead of ultra. Ultra shadows on this game are very demanding and very high looks super crisp anyways.
-ALSO, Native FSR Anti-Aliasing is really crisp and WAY better than TAA in this game.-
Great port. Lot's of options giving current/future hardware room to stretch its legs a bit, and overall it's a great game with an amazing story. The styling is FU( |(ING GORGEOUS. Damn! This game proves you don't need ray tracing to achieve amazing lighting and shadows. Art styling is impeccable. Bought it day one, no regrets.

so some things to consider for people who can't tell the difference, youtube is compressed video, pc will most likely get a graphical patch, some things do look better like grass is clearly sharper, and keep in mind that while ps5 runs this at a (still respectable) 60fps, pc is pushing 100+. Both look great though, but there's just no point in trying to argue for the ps5 when pc objectively has far superior hardware.

I must say PS exclusives are optimized so well I never wait the years it takes for them to drop on pc lol. Pc gets to run everything else and PlayStation gets played for exclusives. I’ve found that’s my gaming sweet spot.

@AidenCaldwell I'm telling you it would be a big factor. You can see it's not as clear even on UA-cam. But when you can run this thing native it's gonna look different or if you run dlss.
The game on ps5 looks good and even if they did little changes to the graphics.Sony won't want the pc version to shine too much cus it will put the ps5 too shame with ray tracing etc. But having said that the resolution clarity is enough for it to be way better.

You can't ever tell on YT comparison videos. It depends on what settings they are using and their HDR configuration. It looked overly bright on the PC side in this vid than what I seen on PC. TV settings, or a different TV being used would be another consideration. Use of upscaling (upscaled 4k is considered native 4k to many today). I have played on both, PS5 where I finished the game, and now started playing on a 4090 at native 4k DLAA and its a stunning difference that I can't at all see in this video. The PC side of this video kind of looks like brightness is up to much or the HDR settings are wrong (its complicated on PC to dial your HDR down). UA-cam video compressions or is this intentional? idk. So easy to manipulate people with these vids though since most can't see for themselves.

The game literally runs locked 60 fps on ps5 at 2160p, it's been confirmed by the digital foundry guys and all the people who reviewed the ps5 upgrades either way.
The game is absolutely not worth the buy on pc in any way shape or form if you have the ps5 version already, there's literally no point of it, the only difference is slightly better ambient occlusion and character model poly count, but what the video doesn't even bother to mention is that one of them runs native 4k while the other needs frame gen and dlss to even run at 4k and over the 60 frame count.
And so some might come up with this argument "So what, it still looks better on pc" well, it really won't look "better" on pc as long as you have denozing problems from the shitty dlss implementation and not to mention that on a 5600x and a 3060 ti, this game can barely run 70 frames at max settings on 1440p with dlls on quality and amd implemented frame gen, there is literally no reason in this world to buy this crap on pc if you already have the ps5 version at all sadly.

Nobody bought a PC just to play this game or any other PlayStation game. They already have a PC. PS games coming to PC is just a convenience that PC gamers don’t mind waiting for. They simply have to buy the game and they save $500 by not buying a PS5.
And yes, it loads 1 whole second faster on PS5. What ever will we do without that one second? I don’t think we’ll live. Lastly, the PS5 is already outdated and new games only run at 30fps or at 960p-1080p if you want 60fps. You’re gonna have to spend another $500-$700 to buy a PS5 pro if you want to keep up. And in that case, PC gamers save $1,000-$1,200 every generation by not buying a console.
