I have always been short but know I am average height for going to freshman, hopefully they will still let me play the positions if I am a bit slower cuz of my height, I dont think I am but lol
I just like to say to Midfielers: Please switch the ball and play through your wingers. Always playing through your striker kills the momentum especially for a striker who is not creative and not good at passing. Switching through wingers do really give more options as a midfielder and allows you to move up the pitch because they can use their pace to go forward.
When I play with my friends I play very good and im confident but when I play in actual games or trials I pass the ball quickly and never try to take anyone on. I lose the ball quick and my decision making is slow. I take too long. I think I just need more game experience as I lack this… I’m very good technically and fit but lack the game experience

A problem for me is always getting the ball from the d and moving the ball to the offense. Sometimes I pay to much attention to the ball and not looking forward and then I lose the ball. This video is definitely helping!
There is something no one mentions when u look over your shoulder and you know what u want to do and receive the ball but then u realize your original idea isn't going to be feasible, dont you have to rethink it quickly, sometimes u can get closed down by opposition like this and disposed
You definitely killed it Jolter and Unisport team. Had I been given this information early on, my game would’ve improved dramatically when in my younger years of 10-12. I had to get older and study the game more to finally get this playing style down pat and til this day there are always things I can improve on. Without a doubt these are key components of playing that vital role in the game. Not to mention the Barcelona examples helped a whole lot in getting a visual for the youngsters. Notice how they use Frenkie as an example often and they show him in bad and good examples. This also shows that even the best players in the world still make mistakes, even ones as simple as the ones mentioned in this video. You WILL make mistakes so DO NOT be afraid to make them. That's how you learn and progress, and if your not making mistakes, it doesn't mean your better than everyone else, it means your stagnant and not progressing or learning. Remember that, it's a tough one to accept but mistakes are progress, so don't be afraid to progress.
I have not played in many years and now i'm going back to football at 31 years of age. this informative and invaluable knowledge, I'll employee some of this advice today. thankyou
As someone who has played unstructured football since a young age, primarily for enjoyment, I still find myself making these kinds of mistakes. My coaches express frustration when old habits kick in, and I forget to look over my shoulder. It's amusing to see how accurate your analysis is.
Great clearly explained points - especially for youth players - currently working w/ my 9 year old on these points - going to show him this b/c sometimes it needs to be heard from someone else than "Dad" even if I have top coaching licenses. ugh! . Coaching for 15+ yrs, these 3 points are a repeating teaching points/mantra - CMFare challenged to play the full MF role - as the games get faster/more complex these key foundational points are necessary to be a successful midfield player & are ever present from youth to professional. The pros did them expertly, of course.. As a side note, strong MF teams win championships. Eg - Barca w/ Xavi/Iniesta/Busquet; Real Madrid w/ Modrich/Casamero/Kroos etc, etc. They all (as a group) do these 3 things very very well. Yes, you need goal scorers, defenders, etc... but w/out a strong MF you are lost. Great video.
Funny the midfielders of the team i cheer to makes the first two mentioned mistakes too often. The result is that the entire team becomes easy prey to anyone else: easy to recover ball, easy to defend. And those midfielders are professionals. Those hints are golden.

I'm to slow in the midfielder, I'm thinking of dropping to a Cdm role but I am very good and picking out key passes and coach puts me at CAM because of my long ball ability
Do not drop to CDM if you have no speed, as a CDM you will need to cover way way more space. See how you feel as a central defender and you can come out playing with a controlled ball. Depending on your team plan.
Stay in CAM, I'm very very slow but I have great ball control. All you need to learn is to move in "V" that way you are always available. You need to think fast and if you sit on the ball is all good if your skill can get you out. Just remember V and one touch passing.
Attack the line always in practice, it'll come naturally, hard for right full back, stretch the field and attack the line, left footed players cab break any line.
