This change should have been made last week. It is unrealistic to believe Orji's first start will end with a victory Saturday, going to kill whatever confidence he has. Total desperation move by coach. Good luck, because your going to need it.
I hope you are wrong but I think you are right.
I believe Michigan offense will be very one dimensional and USC will capitalize off that.
As a HUGE USC fan, this game makes me nervous, even though USCs defense is improved, I personally do not think they will be able to hold a mobile QB like Texas did.
We should let Alex prove he can throw the ball down the field and make at least 15-20 yard passes. If he cannot bring out Jayden Davis and let him take over. The young man can zing it down the field and has a quick read/release. We need to start developing the QB of the future. If we cannot pass the ball I am afraid this season is a lost cause with 17 players leaving, the HC leaving and an all new staff and OL. I'll be at the game on Saturday and support all of the players and coaching staff 100%. Go Blue!

I am still conservatively optimistic about USC despite there is a drastic improvement in defense from that of last year. If USC’s defense is on this ascending trajectory as it has displayed in the first two games, then the offense should be able to out slug Michigan’s offense by at least 1 touchdown.

Pretty obvious that the Michigan coaching staff went into this season believing Tuttle would fill the space between JJ and Jadyn Davis.
When that didn’t happen because Tuttle was injured, the choices were limited.
Warren seemed to provide an aerial threat in practice but it failed to transfer to the field.
So that leaves Orji. And that makes the Michigan offense a one dimensional running attack.
I doubt that's gonna work unless Orji can make opposing defenses respect his arm.
I have to believe that if Orji could pass, he would have been QB1 to begin the season.
This is an experiment we'll all get to watch. This team needs to rally around Alex for any chance of a win Saturday against USC.

Michigan needs a new identify. This year is the year to search for it
Michigan has been mediocre once Carr left and stayed that way for the next 13 years. The past three years are an exception to the previous 13. This year the O line is all new, with Orji, there is no threat to pass and the offense is way too predictable. A good defense is going load up the line of scrimmage and dare Orji to pass. Be realistic and understand this is a 7-5 mediocre team. Michigan is not beating a majority of teams on its schedule and definitely not USC. If USC gets up early, it could get ugly by the fourth quarter.
