For upper sideband set the BFO to a hair past minus one. The crystal and phasing are used together, leave off except to null out a squeal or to peak a CW signal. Af gain max, adjust volume with RF gain. K4OF.
Ive got the same receiver, Serial number 637. Most of the lamps are working, I've replaced all the tubes but when I hook up my antenna(a simple copper wire stretched out my window and out to a tree in the backyard, I get nothing.) The manual says I can use an unbalanced antenna hooked up to terminal 2 with 1 jumpered to G. The SO 238 is shot so my G5RV wont help me either.
