Woodturning - A TURQUOISE and Wood Cup

Here’s my one-of-a-kind turquoise inset cup. I had a difficult time leveling the superglue/turquoise mosaic with the oak given how hard the stone is and how soft the wood is in comparison. Traditional lathing techniques like metal blades, sandpaper and even a diamond sanding block would not do the job so I had to come up with a new method- one that you will likely see in my future work.

Great cup Preston, I thought it was Milliput for sure (from the thumbnail) but you went a different route. The turquoise colour is amazing with that wood contrast.

Amazing job. My only concern is when you apply the finish with a cloth. I'm no "safety police" but that's a bad idea. Better to use some blue shop towels instead. That way instead of a rag getting snagged and pulling your hand into danger, if just tears instead. Not knocking your work, just concerned for your fingers.

@@PrestonsProjects I used to get them at HomeDepot in a 6pack fairly cheap. BUT, if you have a Sam's or Costco nearby, they also come in 12 packs and come out cheaper than 2 6packs.
