So amazing so talented I get chills when here this song and all of his song there will never be a Nana Apamdu he was really a true king of music Rest well you will be miss dearly
Everybody enjoys & listen to music for many reasons. Some people listen to music for the purpose of dancing others listen to music for the enjoyment of the melody. Some listen to music for the sound of each of the instrument played in the song & most importantly the lyrics. As for me I listen to music for all the above mentioned few reasons why I enjoyed every music especially my homeland high life music. It`s important to listen to music to learn from the message it sends to people to compare to our everyday life. This is my reason why I enjoy most of Nana Kwame Ampadu & his African Brothers Int Band songs. I have been listening to Nana Kwame Ampadu him since I was 11 yrs old during the time when he goes the name PSK Ampadu in the 60`s. I always listen & learned from the lyrics from most of Nana`s songs. I have enjoyed African Brothers songs through my adult life & I have got a reason to write these few words about the Band. Things even got more interested when my brother Jacob Kwabina Osae ( Agya Osae) got the chance to joined the African Brothers Band in 1972 with the interest of playing traditional high life guitar which our father plays as we were growing up. We the society learns a lot from the message the musicians sends to the world so we should all RESPECT MUSICIANS
One of the tunes I loved best when African Brothers appeared to be "rejuvenated" when the band recorded the Obi Do Ba album with the Makossa Label, soon after the Getty album in 1984 with the same label...Pat Atomu on lead vocals, Agya Osae on lead guitar, Nana on rhythm guitar and solo works, Guy Opah stamping his authority on bass guitar, and Paa Akrashie on Trumpet.
Chief, I love your insight into these great tunes. If I had to pick a handful of Nana's songs as the greatest, this song will certainly be one of them. As a kid, I couldn't get over the fact that his voice sounded different than it did on other songs. And the message of course, is wonderful
Before this tune appeared on wax, I had heard Nana himself sing the tune at Royal Cinema Hall some time in 1986. Since I was familiar with most of the artistes' performances at Afribros concerts, it was easy to know who was doing what...I had by then keenly followed African Bros. for nearly 20 years...
Wow. That's sounds so amazing - must have been some wonderful experiences. Great anecdotes -much appreciated . I'd give a lot to have been at such shows in those days.
Those who really liked the music of African Brothers between 1970 and 1993 were fanatics...and I am not ashamed to be one of them. I would argue on end with Nana's critics to the point of falling out with them.
@@richteremmanuel3616 Hi, Nii, I did not know you monitor this space. I am a dyed in the wool fanatic of the African Brothers Band and this space is a comfortable home for me. So, do not mind if I make statements that some don't agree with. I am that I am.
