Sir, I am currently going to take admission in btech, with my jee rank i can either get mid/lower nit(with a branch i dont want to study) or cse at almost all tier 2 private colleges in my state, I am leaning towards the 2nd option, ***MY MAIN QUERY IS***: whether i can prepare for gate from the start of my btech years, and whether it is possible or not to handle both btech studies and gate preparation at the same time.*** thank you for reading this.
Good to know, you realized the importance of Gate and higher study. Yes you can prepare for Gate from the early days of your BTech and will definitely succeed if you can prepare well. My problem starts when I was able to crack 2 companies of 10+ lpa within a duration of 6 months during my campus placements. But one after another both of them got revoked and as a last resort I had to choose a service based company with 5.5 lpa. For the first 2 company I was able to prepare for them within 3 months. But then I left practice and now I am back to 0. Since then I have tried many Off campus opportunities but my resume doesn't get shortlisted for any PBCs. Should I prepare for GATE or start Practicing DSA and Development from scratch again and keep applying for Jobs.

It depends on your interest. Doing Mtech doesn't only guarantee you a better or a similar package (what u r getting now), but it is also a value addition in ur life. Spending two years in any top IITs and IISC helps you to be a better skilled person and teach you how to deal with technical problems within strict deadline. Also being an IITan or IIScan is a lifetime gain for sure. Also I blv quality of work u will get after Mtech will be better compared to now. I suggest you can prepare for a year with your job and see where you are standing. If you are able to crack the exam, then I recommend to go for Mtech. Regarding MBA, if your interested lies in management work, then you should focus on MBA only. Then Mtech is of no use for you.
Nope it won't help, because the work you will be doing after your mtech will be something specialized to some domain. Like if you get a datascience profile, you will be doing stuff related to AI/ML. So you IT skills are no longer needed.

I suggest take the job and prepare once more to get into good IITs. As you are final year now, you can do job for couple of years and join mtech after that.

Please do quit placement now. Take a job from on campus placement and then keep preparing for gate. If you crack gate this year join iit. Or else join the job and keep doing it untill you crack gate. Gate is a uncertain exam, hence I never recommend anyone to don't have any backup in hand. Hence you should take a job from your MCA college

I have not seen any such cases to be honest. Noone generally does so. But I can say in iisc or IITs there is no year gap criteria as such imposed by companies. So there should not be any problem.

I just want to say ki calculative risk lo because 3 hours ka exam hai .. anything can happens.. toh if you have a backup score card then that always helps and you might be able to take a drop safely that way.

Yes, Gate is not necessary for getting a job. If you want to learn more then go for Gate. If you just want a job then even if prepare for product-based companies, that works. Gate and Mtech is not only for the job. You learn a lot of things. And also being an IITan and IIScan is an achievement.
Motivation for Gate is not only getting higher package job, rather to learn from those great institute. If you want to pursue higher study to learn and develop new skill set then definitely I would suggest you to appear for Gate. Else, you continue your job, after few years you will earn a lot.

Don't leave the job. Do prepare for gate with job. Gate is uncertain, so u should have a backup

Yes, I suggest you can join till 30-31, no issue. One of my friends started preparing for Gate at the age of 30, and he cracked in 31. So no issue
