This leaves 99% of You Tube videos to shame. What incredible talent and ability. I am in awe.
indeed-
In my 65+ years of model making I have only scratch built a few small items, but I will also say there is a bit of special satisfaction to look at a small detail item that you made from scrap metal, wood, etc. This entire barn is a wonderful example of the skills and insight some people are gifted with, and so well express in dioramas like this beauty! Excellent work.
Thank you!
Thank you for reminding me of my childhood
@@ExcessivelySentimental thank you

Building models for 65 years is not a short period of time. I am similar. I started building models since 13 years old. Now, I am 82. I can imagine how much joy you have had, during the long years. Salute!
Please, my brother, continue on the march, you are a professional person in this art, you master your work, and leave no room for speech, continue publishing more
I can honestly say that with the 3,000 hours worth of videos I've watched, not once have I been moved to tears. Until now. I know few will understand, but this was just absolutely breathtaking. ❤️❤️❤️
Me too, I believe it was a combination of the music and my own imagination coming up with a whole back story LOL.
I agree 100%...this is amazing
I fully agree with you its been a long time since I was moved too its so reall
Watching that brought back so many memories of my late husband. He use to build these for model railway layouts. Thank you for the beautiful memories.
I normally watch the first 5 min of a video, scan through and stop to see interesting things, then watch the final 5 min.. But not this video, I couldn't stop watching it. The quality of work, attention to detail and obvious subject matter knowledge was so impressive. The vines going up the side of the barn was simply over the top.
same
👍👍👍
Me too, don't want to miss even the seconds, wonderful
You should be proud 😂🖕🏾
The music was so calming it was like going through a timeline. The first stage to end stage. It’s like life at it’s finest.
Ps I thought to myself I hope he don’t get cut from the rusty roof but then realize lol duh…
The amount of details and realism of this model is incredible. Hats off to you!
Sure 👏🏻👌🏻❤

OUTSTANDING, I'M 76 AND GOT BACK INTO MODELING AFTER 45 YEARS IN 2019.
I'LL LIKELY NEVER GET TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS, BUT INSPIRED I AM.
THANKS SO MUCH.
Thanks you 💓
Nothing short of incredible & absolute sentimental value! The clear step by step guide in the description section is truly an appreciated bonus for those who wants to learn. Fabulous work & artistry!
brought a tear to my eye.. love the old fields and barns and sheds.. lived around them when my kids were little.. sunshine and shadow of a cat.. can almost hear the meadow lark and red winged black birds.. thank you :D
This is absolutely breath taking. I've always admired miniature models and landscapes. My hands shake from medical issues, so I paint watercolor. This is amazing. Bravo.
knowing how to stay on scale, knowing how to stress, how to distress... and knowing when to start and stop is crucial to this art form.
watched every moment and relaxed!
Totally amazing to me. I come from rural Kentucky with sentimental old barns everywhere. An old age has died. Inside I found old horse collars and tack and rusty cultivators and plows. Thanks for the memories.
Absolutely fabulous!!!
Looks sooo real!! I have a fascination with barns!!! So unique & can stand the test of time!!! I used to wood-burn barns!! I still have them 30yrs & several moves later!!
I’ve been watching scratch build videos for about a year now trying to learn and get ideas of what I want to make. Of all the videos I’ve watched, this is by far the best one yet!
Absolutely astonishing. The eye for detail. The absolute patients. True artwork in the making.
I've had the pleasure of meeting this artist IRL and ISTG they are so sweet and humble and passionate about their art, it fills me with joy to know that such people exist
Wow!!! The level of detail and the creativity involved in creating this masterpiece is amazing. And the fact that you were able make a video of it as well is incredible. I sat spellbound through this entire video. Thank you!
I could shut my eyes and imagine walking in through the barn door. It definitely touched on a good memory from long ago. Thanks for that. And thank you for sharing your incredible skills. Not just the building to scale skills, but the one that lets you touch a spot in our heart that we may have been losing over the years. That one is just as important. 🤟🏼🤍
Well done! You've obviously been around and studied old barns and aged wood. I love your ingenuity in creating the hay bales out of twine, and all the other details, like the wooden boxes, troughs and old gate. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! I'm glad it created that feeling for you.
👍🤝🍻
Wow. This is an absolute masterpiece. Just the fact that you designed and built it from scratch totally floors me. But the thing that blew me away was the brilliance and attention to detail in making the grass and weeds. Just phenomenal.
Just amazing. your attention to detail and the way you made it so realistic has me at a loss for appreciation.
This is nothing short of painstakingly remarkable. You create museum quality art. Thank you so much for this video, inspires me as a woodworker to expand my skills.
I was mesmerized as I was trying to do some of my own Mini Diorama for the first time, but I have been learning just how important the detailing is in everything we do to these Dioramas. You have truly INSPIRED me. Thank you, I am at a loss for words, but my face said it all as I watched your Videos.
Truly... Thank you

I was a model builder for most of my life and Ian Roberts is among the best whose efforts I have been. I am awed, humbled, and quite inspired to go back from two dimensional art to three dimensional art. He is truly one of the great ones!
Superb modelling and superb editting! Each individual step is clearly demonstrated in a way that makes them look easy (I suspect it only looks easy because it's so skillfully done) and yet the overall effect is far more than the sum of the parts. I applaud your expertise!!!
I think I just breathed in your soul! This is the most magical diorama video I have had the honor to see resurrected! Your heart bled through this one. Wow! I am in love!
There is a thin and blurry line between passion and madness. You took it to the edge. Perfection!
Compelling, transfixing, beautiful to watch - a balsa and foam sculpture. Well done.
WOW! when it comes to creativity you are a natural! I too love making dioramas but I have always enclosed them in something to prevent anything getting on them. Beautiful work, amazing talent!
The biggest mystery in all this is how those fingers stay so clean.
But dang. The steady hands and the level of detail. Impressed!
This video really "hit home"
I've wanted to live in a barn loft, ever since first seeing Dalton in his loft from the movie Roadhouse, so much peace and tranquility just sitting in the the hay door watching the sun set.
I do the same. Mostly a look just at the beginning.
You can see that usually it is just kitschy However, this one is good. Really 'sentimental'.
No words my friend. I have watched hundreds of model videos and this is a cut above the rest. I also love how there is no commentary. Commentary is very helpful to those who might want to try it. But for someone who just wants to appreciate the art form, this video was so relaxing. Amazing job!!
From the hinges, to the vines and axe I'm at a loss of words. Well done!
The skill and detail that went into this model is astounding. Fantastic job!!
Incredible work! Even more impressive is how the whole process was videoed and edited. The close-ups of your hands working is masterful and must have taken many times longer to produce than the actual barn. I certainly enjoyed watching the whole scene come together.
Truly a masterpiece. It is so gratifying to watch you build that old barn. Thank you.
My favorite part is "Adding longer grass to some tufts". This guy's static grass game is better than anyone else I've seen on UA-cam!
An absolutely wonderful study of an enchanting scene with such tremendous attention to detail. I am so captivated by this work.
Exquisite! Inspiring! Your painting is incredible! Loved the detail - including the background music. Thank you!
I used your parchment paper overlayed over the drawing technique and it's allowed me to make mindboggingly precise structures. Thank you for that.
Wow! Fascinating! Wonderful to watch! I had to watch it in 2 parts so I wouldn’t miss anything. Wonderful to see every step and the awesome music just flowed right along with the build. Thank you, so much, for sharing this. It does my heart good, I’m sure for many others as well, to see such beauty take shape right before our eyes!💎
Absolutely fascinating and so incredibly creative and artistic. And technically a beautifully and thoughtfully produced video. Thankyou so much. I loved this experience.
This is incredible. Some of the best detailing and level of detail I have seen. Thank you for sharing!
I've don't know anything about models beyond painting the occasional plane and car as a kid. It's nice to know that in our perhaps over technologized and mechanized world, this level human craftsmanship still exists. I sketch and have painted with acrylics in the past, now I'm moving into watercolor, so while looking for information about brushes this video popped up in my feed. This is mesmerizing, it has nothing to do with what I was searching for but...😍😍😍
I thought "he's got to be finished" about 5 times and more detail kept getting added. amazing work!! Keep it up!
Absolutely AMAZING attention to detail. Every item meticulously crafted by hand. I'm extremely impressed! 👍
That's a level of artistry I cannot describe. I will always remember the day I saw this video. Hands down the most incredible model from scratch I've ever seen.
ua-cam.com/video/FnDuPQ3-CJ8/v-deo.html
Oh my word, how wonderful that barn is, down to the hay bales and chopped wood, even the rust on the roof. Well done and thanks for showing how you made it.
I have been trying to come up with a hobby since I am fully retired. I've watched quite a few of them on UA-cam, but this left quite an impression on me. Thank you for posting this. When I do mine, I will add rusted nails on mine.
And fitted post and beam framing fastened by teeny tiny wooden pegs?
Awww yes another relaxing video
Having a smoke , drinking a rolling rock while watching these videos are gentle on my soul
Remarkably spot on. Looks exactly like any number of old barns you can see driving the back roads across this country. From New York all the way thru the south on to
California.
Utterly amazing, a masterpiece in miniature! Worth watching, took me to a different world for a moment. Congratulations for your talent, patience, editing, music...quite a huge effort! Hats off! Love from Romania! 🇷🇴
I just scratch built a play barn for my daughter, and your channel was very very inspiring for the project! Love seeing what you do, and your ability to age the structure and capture all the details of time is so impressive!
This really leaves me speechless. And the music is so well chosen ... I was born on a farm and we left for the city when I was 5 years old. The house and barn were "removed" years ago hence they don't exist anymore, except in my memory. Thank you for this good moment; excessively sentimental and emotional.
me too! I didn't want to bore the comments readers with all the details. you though, got it just right.
Exquisite detail and very realistic weathering and landscaping.
Absolutely amazing. Such care and patience and an eye for detail. Fantastic job 👍
this is just too fascinating not to watch all the way through. What an amazing precicion and ageing skills!
So well done. It's a pleasure to see such a diorama with a good scale 👏🏻
Brilliantly done....the coloring.... The size ...the designed.... And the detailed.... Amazing.
The most amazing construction that I ever seen. Left me without words.
Incredible.
Such exquisite attention to detail. And no talking! Just incredible.
Every detail was so perfect that it made me want to cry. It brought so many memories back to me. Amazing. I can't believe the piece of tin roof and the old wooden gate leaned up against the barn. And naturally, the wood planks. My dad always had two by fours, broken, whole, rotting, and what not, leaned up against the barn, along with tin from the roof and occasional rotting wooden gate or fencing now and again. The attention to all the detail was spectacular. Yep. That's it. I'm gonna cry now.
Lol....I'm actually in tears! Glad I'm not the only one. 😁
The music alone put me in a particularly reflective and happy mood. I craft, but not at this level, this is truly art.
I'm very fond of detail, but *this* perfectionism really surpasses *everything...*
What a wonderful job down to the tiniest detail - just *f a n t a s t i c !*
I bow in awe of such perfect skill.
This is the first of your videos that I have seen and I have to say I literally sat and watched in open mouthed awe at your skills ad attention to detail. Incredible!!!!! You are insanely talented!
Wow! The longer I watch this video the longer I witness your reality come to life from how your inner thought processes the tiniest detail and how far your passion will make it a reality! You feel your piece behind anything. 😭
Fantastic work; the level of detail and the realism of the finished diorama are amazing.
Fantastic, extraordinary ability, makes us realize that life is meant to be lived simply, makes us understand better how we also age. Beautiful work of art... Surely you live in harmony with yourself and with nature.
Outstanding work on the barn...and on the vegetation, well done!
Dude. This is pure art and such an inspirational video. I'm humbled I could watch something like that on YT. I don't really do models and I found your video cause I was looking for ideas for a friend who's into it. I watched the entire clip, in one go. Unbelievable.
I grew up with old, collapsing barns like this all over my Three Brooks, Pictou County childhood. Apart from being tempted to try to put faded labels or company names on a few of those delivery boxes, or putting shelves with rusty old farm equipment inside the barn, this is superb work.
When I 1st saw this building I thought it was real, absolutely amazing To watch, with beautiful music included, instant subscriber
One of the best videos I've ever seen in my life. I could watch this for hours. Everything about this is just fantastic. Thank you for sharing
Such mind-blowing detail to emulate realism. I picked up quite a few hints and hacks, thanks. Mesmerising to watch.
I am blown away by your video. The attention to every tiny detail and seeing it all come together is magnificent. Thank you for sharing your talents with us!Truly inspiring!
This piece is beautifully done a work of art!
Absolutely stunning!! So precise, and the detail is mind-blowing!! These Dioramas' must give you so much joy my friend!! I love to draw these old rustic buildings!! Love it, had to ring the bell!!🔔
I am delighted with so many details! Congratulations on such a whim! I loved that barn environment❤! An excellent job!
Spectacular piece. I play with all kinds of art and crafts but every time I see someone doing a piece like that it inspires me. I loved creating miniatures as a teenager. Working on a stained glass mosaic now and I have two paintings after that but I think I'll be pulling some of that balsa wood and polymer clay out of my closet in the near future. No matter how crazy the world gets, seeing a project like this makes all the bad stuff go away. Amazing work and a joy to watch. Thank You.
This was an absolute joy to watch. A masterclass in model making. Liked and subscribed :-)

Awesome, TOTALLY AWESOME!!
Such skills. EVERYTHING just comes together sooooo nicely. Details in the craftsmanship.
The colors, the blends EVERYTHING 👍🏾👍🏾.
BEAUTIFUL piece❤️❤️❤️❤️

Beautiful object! Would be an asset to any home’s decor! Fascinating process!
Stunning result: what a craftsmanship!
Words fail to describe the admiration I feel for the artist as well as their craft. An absolute masterpiece!
Totally awesome! I could not get enough of this! Thanks SO MUCH for sharing your talent, much appreciated!
This was absolutely breathtaking! The level of detail is perfection! With every paint stroke, every cut you brought this gorgeous piece to life! MAGNIFICENT job! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work!💥❤💫
This kind of videos deserve views and likes, not 90% of nowadays crap on UA-cam!
Well done and fantastic work
👏👏👏👏👏
I was scrolling by, almost missing this video. I am in awe of how amazing this is. You have one helluva talent.....great work buddy. Glad I stumbled upon this gem...
Beautiful! 🤩 Incredible hobby! Congrats!
Outstanding. Bravo to you. So many helpful hacks demonstrated to make landscape items with things on hand. I love it when I can make something and not buy every single detail to create. Thanks much for sharing.
You are on a whole different level in this type of build. So detailed loved the video well done
Thank you, thank you!

Found another one......... Actually i am always in hunt of artists and oftentimes they are underrated and it breaks my heart that people are no more interested the arts that are pure as souls, but in crap instead and now i found another underrated mind-blowing artist.
Mesmerising. Totally in awe of your talent!!
Fantastic! Thanks for showing!
