  • Hey guys. The birds are finally able to come out after non stop heavy rain for the past few days. It was too heavy of a rain to just leave the birds out, so kept them inside. Hopefully the weather pattern starts to change to sunny warm days.

Glad to hear that Cherry is doing better. The grass looks beautiful indeed. But that much rain gets annoying, right? I joined the No-mow-May initiative from gardeners all over the world to help the insects. I do no longer mow a part of the lawn from early spring to the end of summer, and I have sown some wild flower seeds in the grass, although I am not sure if it is going to germinate. But there is no valid reason why the lawn should be all grass.
I just watched a video from farmers in the UK, and the main subject was the rain, the cold weather, and that barely anything wants to grow. And if something does grow it can barely stay upright and it gets damaged by snails. And it is the same story all over Europe. They said the same thing as what I was noticing. If it is warmer it gets abnormal warm, and if it is cold and wet it gets abnormal cold and wet, and there is no normal average weather pattern in between. It only has these abnormal warm and cold and wet spikes.
Anyway, yesterday I bought a bunch of new pots and planters and today I have sown them all with new flower seeds, I keep trying because the forecast says that the temperatures are going up, and for next week the forecast shows dry weather with a lot of sun. And I had pretty good success with germinating flower seeds in my tray and balcony planter as long as the pots and planters stand at the most sunny spot in my garden. So I hope to be able to repeat that and to benefit from the warmer temperatures with my flower seeds. I just pretend as if spring has just started.
Sadly enough the windows weather app is hopelessly unreliable. Last week the forecast for today was full sun and 27C, but instead it rained the largest part of the day and we didn't even get close to 27C. So we will see what is going to happen. At least I am prepared with my flower seeds just in case if it does get warmer and dry. As always a huge 👍

I’m glad to hear that Cherry is doing better. Peach sounds great! And Pie is such a beautiful bird. I’m glad your rain has stopped - can you send it down to me (we’re having a drought)? The birds seem so happy to be outside in the sun, in their beautiful aviary. Thanks for posting this video!

Hi Kullike and Dennis. Yez we're also experiencing a lot of rain. We had thunderstorms with heavy rain for past 2 days. Gonna rain again this afternoon. The birds are really enjoying the outing. Maple is surely a water bird. Good to see Cherry coming along. So nice and green there. With a lot of rain the grass grows faster and needs more mowing. You have a lot of property to mow Dennis, are you using hand mower or drive a mower or both? First day of Summer. Hope we get a nice summer like last year. So extreme this year so far. Lots of rain and boiling temperatures. Hope Kullike's garden is coming along nicely

We use the riding lawn mower, push mower and then the weed trimmer.
