- So I tried to add more of the Grizzco Weapons into Side order, and ended up corrupting my save data. Embark on a journey with me to try and clean up this mess as I die to fish and yap too much.

im so glad i graduated before the side order internet check bullshit happened. i had the longest bus ride in the world and side order kept me sane

Nintendo has successfully removed all players who play Splatoon because they enjoy story mode from the game. ya'll know the definition of insanity? the community seems to always have the same reaction
I don't think that's an actual requirement, my game is updated and I played Side Order during my weekend trip, and I never bothered to connect my Switch to any free wifi I had access to while on the train. I think whatever happened on video was the same thing as what happened to me when Side Order was initially released, the game for some reason not recognizing that you *have* the DLC purchased and downloaded. At least, judging by the text basically saying "you need to buy the DLC to access this go to the eShop to buy it". Unfortunately I forgot how I fixed it, but I did have to look it up so the answer should be somewhere online.
If all else fails, you might be able to fiddle with some numbers to give the base Order Roller the Groller's stats and then just use that as a bootleg. With that, I want to see what it looks like with max Moving Ink Speed, Rush Damage, Moving Special Charge (with Ultra Stamp for synergy) and just enough Moving Ink Refill so that you never run out of ink. The only downside is that we'd be deprived of the "VROOOOOOMVRMMVRMMVRMMVROOOOOM" that is integral to the G-Roller experience, but it's a price I'm willing to pay.

14:14 That is a brand I would love to see: someone who takes random silly and bad ideas amd makes them into actually enjoyable game mechanics.
For the weapons without a Grizzco variant (Order Shot, Brush, and Splatling) maybe you could try to use a different weapon for them.
I think it'd be funny if you got max range on the Jet Squelcher, and max damage on the Hydra. Maybe try to make the Painbrush work.

his save file was probably made incompatible from upgrading his game version i'd assume. in most games you can't take a save file made in a newer patch to an older one to prevent data corruption

That play style is basically just 95% of the game.
I'm noticing that through everything, even though the game's tick rate was dying, the framerate stayed a stable 60 FPS. I do wonder what was causing the tick rate to die though.

this is a possible fix for the grizzco roller
If you could possibly get the code of the grizzco roller from a newer person, and somehow import it (and possibly the model) to side order, or you could copy the code for the grizzco roller into a side order weapon, give it a model of a different one (possibly dynamo roller). But I have not modded my switch at all, and I know barely anything about modding, so this could be completely wrong. Also I think the entire reason nintendo added the internet thing to side order was because it's being modded, but side order got boring quicker than anyone predicted (especially since nintendo didn't expect people to beat it as fast as they did)

You probably just need to redump the dlc and update your keys for latest version, side order still works fine offline

You can leave the game on with side order opened when you have network connection and put it on sleep. Then it will work

The drive to my grandparents is about 4 hours including traffic and I can barely get data for hotspot (because they're in upper Michigan which is mostly woods) 😥
Also the reason they made it so wifi is needed is to probably make sure you actually bought it and didn't just hack it in

Technically speaking, it's currently playable on Northstar servers. I'm trying to make the mod playable without a client side install for convenience, although some things do bug out.
