I use organic tangerine peels and cut them into little cubes which I leave to dry on my radiator over night. When I make pancakes I always add a spoonful of these peels into the dough. The peels are not bitter at all but have a nice fruity flavour.
I think its better to wash the orange fruit well with salt and vinegar before peeling it and then wash and soak the peel after with salt, doing this limits the absorption of any pesticide left from the first wash.
What a fantastic idea! I love how you found a way to turn something we normally toss into something useful and comforting. The addition of ginger is brilliant for warmth, and I love how natural and simple it is. This is exactly the kind of recipe I’ll be using during winter, especially with the change in weather. It feels good to know that I’m creating something beneficial from something that would’ve otherwise been wasted. Thank you for sharing this wonderful tip! 😊
Very impressive. Thank you so much for sharing. I buy oranges every week but discard the peel. I also love ginger. I will definitely follow this recipe and add a teaspoon of honey when making the drink. Again, thank you so much.
You are very welcome. Thanks for your honest sharing. Honey is also good because of its natural sweet taste. I am glad it is useful to you. Where are you from? Happy Holidays!!!
As these citrus peels, especially the easy peelers with their deep orange colour , are supposed to be good antioxidants , your detailed recipe makes an excellent way of enjoying this benefit.❤ God Bless for sharing. Rosh M of South Africa
I use the orange peels to make my own cleaner. Fill a jar with orange peel and then top up with vinegar and leave for 6 weeks and you have a cleaner for every cleaning job in your home. This even cleans dirty ovens. I dry grapefruit, lemon, lime and orange peels, blitze them and drink daily in the winter ❤️
Thank you very much for your feedback. I will take it. This one, the farmers call it orange. Whether it is orange or tangerine, you can still use it to warm your body in winter. Happy holidays!!!
oranges are bigger and firmer tangerines and clementines are smaller darker and softer and easier to peel without a knife and taste sweeter rather than sharp citrous juice

I always thought we should remove the skin from the ginger before we prepare any recipe with ginger to consume. This applies to any tuber that grows under ground.

Drying the peels and ginger in sunlight. Does it serve the purpose?
Your question is great. You can absolutely dry orange peels and ginger. It works just as well as roasting them but it takes more days to make sure they are completely dry. Where are you from? Happy holidays!
Drying in sunlight makes all the flavor and smell to evaporate and make the peels like wood.
Let them air dry inside the house.
