  • @PetroicaRodinogaster264

    The jacket seemed great but…can it make me a cup of coffee?
    Ziplock bags are incredible hard to get open if your hands are wet, cold or injured. The best first aid is never go out in the wilds alone.
    The tripwire…fun until the bears learn to step over them. Foxes and wolves just go under.
    The hammock tent hanging from the tree…finding two trees close enough that won’t fall over is the first obstacle.
    In a high wind the hammock turns into a fairground ride.

      In France we have a programme where people get innovative things like those and test them. They were testing that thing. Only obe couple out of 4 managed to put it up, one dude became so mad and frustrated he kicked the ramble snd cursed in french. That was funny but he was really angry. So when i saw that video i remembered him and i know that is very difficult to erect

    Well, I bought the Mogic tent for my car. Yes it costs too much. It also has some design flaws that I noted for them, mainly in the design of the window flaps…they should open from the bottom to allow you to use the flaps as awnings over the opening…as is usually done in tents. Also the rain fly…which they did not show…needs extra poles and ropes to function properly. But the size works well, easy to put up, access. All in all a good addition to my camping supplies

      The Mogic design looks great but there's some concern about its resistance to winds and rain. It looks like it could be blown away or deforms under bad weather.

    • @harrymills2770
      @harrymills2770 11 місяців тому +1

      @@satyaexploration2874 Maybe it's mostly for mosquitoes. If there's a fly and you need poles and line to put it up, it might be good in rain, and the poles and guy lines might make the whole thing much more wind-resistant. Maybe the Japanese are just smart enough to tear it down and move into the SUV before the weather gets out of hand!

    They need to stop making clothes out of plastic. It is not "high-tech", plastic clothes have been around for a long time and are part of the problem creating micro plastics.

    • @Ivehadenuff
      @Ivehadenuff Рік тому +4

      I hope scientists find a way to make plastics out of plants.

    • @TrishBenedict
      @TrishBenedict Рік тому +6

      Are fabrics made from micro plastics worse than having a bunch of 2 L bottles around? I'm not trying to be snarky. I'm just wondering if the process degrades the plastic. I always appreciate things that are made from recycled plastic bottles as at least a step in the right direction. But maybe I'm stepping off in the wrong direction. Sometimes recycling has unintended consequences. Just curious…

    • @remyllebeau77
      @remyllebeau77 Рік тому +2

      @@TrishBenedict Well for starters we don't tend to put 2L bottles through the washing machine every few weeks. And being processed into fibers for clothes takes it one step closer to being micro plastics.
      Only a handful of kinds of plastics are even capable of being recycled. And almost all of the recycling is not profitable.

    • @BillWalker3rd
      @BillWalker3rd Рік тому +2

      So I am curious not snarky too....Given reality that we have all these plastics we waste currently, Isn't reusing and repurposing that stuff the bestest way to go? I don't disagree that "plastic clothes" have never been comfortable nor all that durable in my experience (except nylon I suppose) and I would rather we didn't make so much disposable plastic products, it seems to me that using the stuff makes a bunch of sense - but that's just to my mind. What would you propose we do with our plastics that we waste?

    • @remyllebeau77
      @remyllebeau77 Рік тому +3

      @@BillWalker3rd It needs to be stopped at the source. So the public will have to demand that companies stop making so much single use plastic, and hopefully stop making clothes and blankets out of it eventually.
      As to what to do with the plastic that is already here, we should only reuse it if we are sure it isn't causing another problem or hazard like micro plastics, which is what recycling bottles into clothing does. Otherwise we will have to burn it for fuel, or find some way to break it down, which I believe they have made some progress towards.

    As the owner of a Pontiac Vibe, the section on the Mogics Carsule got me interested enough to look for more info. The ubiquitous online seller sells it so I clicked. The price was lower than I was expecting, but it gets hammered badly in the reviews and the company's own videos make this seem like a nightmare to deal with. Not surprised that this sunny little puff piece didn't show someone in the process of setting it up.

    • @harrymills2770
      @harrymills2770 11 місяців тому +1

      I owned a Vibe, briefly. There were 2 options, and I got the bigger motor. Boy that thing was a screamin' demon. I sold it because it was too flighty on the Interstate in high winds. Very light for that motor, though, so it was very peppy. I feel like the styling of those crossovers comes at the expense of 360-degree visibility. But they do look cool. I hated backing mine out of the parking spot at the grocery. Never was sure I was seeing everything. I loved the rear cargo area with the back seats folded down. You could make a nice bed in it.

    • @alm5693
      @alm5693 11 місяців тому

      @@harrymills2770 Mine was purchased used with the larger 2.2 engine but it is completely devoid of any convenience features like power windows or door locks. Friends laugh at me every time I have to lean over to roll down the passenger window. It has a manual transmission that I agree can make it a screamin' demon. Very point and shoot. It does get interesting in high winds, but Iike the lightness most of the time. Only big gripe with it is that you feel EVERY bump in the road. Pothole season (Spring) in MN is brutal. And I agree the blind spots are brutal the cargo volume is huge, and the lift-up grocery caddy in the back is genius.

    I like the Carsule idea, but it doesn't look very sturdy. I tow a small square drop behind a pickup, so I've got the extra space for something more substantial.
    According to the late Cosmo Weems, whose channel still lives, if you tell the Amish tent makers what you want, they'll tailor canvas or any material walls you want. Cosmo had them make a custom wall for his little clam shelter, and made a seal with the back of his Vistabule teardrop. Nice to have a screened-in porch attached to your micro-camper. With side walls and a stove jack, you can make the whole thing a hot tent. I think Cosmo use a Little Buddy or Mr. Buddy in his. He had a blast using it in the snow, although he had to punch the ceiling periodically, to knock off the accumulating snow. I serious weather, you really need those things staked out and make a center pole.
