Great Build, your camera guy did a great job of following your build congrats to him ( or her, don't know). BTW after watching this I will never buy RAM without LEDs, looks awesome, Thank You
Just wanted to say thank you very much for this video. It helped me out so much! I am a first time builder and there was no videos really with this exact motherboard and the cooler Master installation. I went with the gtx 1070, evga 850bq, Intel i5 6600k, 16gb 3200 Ddr4 Ram, Western digital black 1tb, Samsung 850 evo 250gb ssd and a thermaltake v71 case. I am just finishing up the build thanks to you and will boot it up soon
Love the fact that you showed the detail. Building my first PC with my 10 yr old son over the holiday season. Waiting on BF for the good deals and assembling it over Christmas break with him. He wants to be a UA-camr. Which I always support entrepreneurs. I'm going 6600k/z170/GTX 1070 with a 1440p high refresh. Gotta admit, this guy will be gaming on this rig too! While teaching the little one content marketing and video production. One pointer, connect with your audience better by letting us know your name, not just Awe of Tech. Name the kitten Cheeto!
Techno Creeper a 1070 is $240 ish less. From researching benchmarks, it doesn't seem cost effective for the small boost in GPU performance you get going from a 1070 to a 1080. Do you have a particular reason you feel so strongly about your recommendation?
Awesome video. I am an old man building my first computer, a Z270 with I7-7700. I am a little slow with the wiring, but you have helped me so much. I thank you.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. My only observation is that you would do much better if the case was laid on its side to install stuff. Watching your video, folks will assume a vertical installation is easy.
some dude stole your video, which I really enjoyed this video, so I had find you and sub you man I enjoyed this! I'm using some of these components to build my first computer, I'm going water-cooled instead for fun :) once again thanks for the video!
Great video! I think some people missed the point that this is more of a "how to" instead of showing off a badass rig. I'm no expert in creating videos or anything but I think that the windows should be in front of you and behind the cameras to get the best possible lighting. Great video though. Very helpful!
I noticed at the end of the video you recommended plugging in the monitor to the mother board. I would recommend plugging in the monitor to the video card. Cable management helps air flow which will ultimately keep your computer cooler.
There is a opening on the the back of the case for the 8 pin power connector you just have to rout it up there before you install your motherboard, i built my brother's computer in that exact same case.
personally i'd have gone with an aio & def go with some nice red n black cable extensions, hate the ketchup n mustard & you need better cable management other than that it's a nice build john
Why not go with a liquid cooler, like an H-100i or H-60 due to space. That cpu cooler looks so bulky and looks like it would dump so much heat into case. How well did that cooler keep the cpu cool? did it limit your overclocking? And I take it that cooler you bought used? since I think I saw dust inside it?
just curious with this build why you didn't put the little axtra out and liquid cool it ? makes a big difference for cooling if your gaming and with that graphics card im gonna say there will be some gaming
I dunno I had air coolers and closed loop liquid coolers, and the temps ain't all that much difference. That cooler will do the job for gaming, and it's cheaper..It's a great cooler for gaming if you're on a budget.
that's true going on a budget it will get the job done. I had a Big heat sink and fan and my computer was running avaerage temp of about 50C now with my liquid cooler its running avarage temp while gaming of about 35 to 37C I saw a difference within my own setup but either way its a great budget build
Question, I'm going off your 1,500$ build with the GTX MSI 1080X, and I'm curious about the case the Noctis if it's compatible with and optical drive? Thanks!
Danny Daniel I'd rather get a "shit" motherboard. All they sacrifice is RAID, more than 2 case fans, overclocking ability, more than 4 sata ports, Crossfire/SLI and more than 16 GB ram. They sacrifice no quality/speed/longevity Do you need any of those things? if no get a cheap chipset and upgrade to the new socket in 3 years with a new motherboard. 1151 socket is relatively new but I highly doubt in 2-3 years you will want to keep using it Fancy mobo are almost always a huge waste of money unless you overclock or have some sort of RAID setup or multiple GPUs Bought an i3 for my sister and it's killing AAA games on high/ultra 60fps 1440(with 980) a pentium might bottleneck a card faster than a radeon 380
Hey man great build I am thinking to do that build I just have a 3 questions 1) will a 650 watts Full modular psu be good enough for this build? 2) will this build be able to run games at 4K video quality? ( I will be using the Nvidia GeForce gtx 1070 Gpu) 3) won't the build need a hard drive with the ssd
yes 650 watt PSU is more than adequate, for 4k I'd recommend the 1080 or greater as the 1070 is not quite there yet, in my recent testings with my 1070 clocked at 1949Mhz, 4k ultra settings: I'm getting averages of 33 fps in rise of the tomb raider, 44 fps shadow of mordor, 31 fps the division, 33 fps witcher 3 (hairworks on), arkham knight 41 fps, and just under 50 fps in doom (vulkan). So for less demanding games 4k is definitely great, but demanding triple A titles not quite there IMO. For the storage capacity it just depends on how much you like store at once, 960gb is enough for around 20 games with a little left over. You could also add an additional drive whether it be a hard drive or ssd when you get close to filling up the first one.
Nice clear and concise build. You said "Plug your monitor in the back of the Motherboard to install windows 10"..is there any reason why you shouldn't plug it into your GPU?
great video should help me with my first build a lot! coincidentally i bought most of the same parts with the exception of the 6700k i got 6600k. can u do a part 2 on overclocking?
Here's a link for the cooler by itself amzn.to/2cBTPxr weird that the bundle isn't available right now, the total price should come out to around the same though
what if i have a 3.5 hv output? i believe your install forgot the power switch and reset switch overlap through the v wiring system. After dealing with computers for 23 years I find it necessary to overlap them both otherwise you're talking major bucks later on during repairs. Also I noticed that you did not install the C system wiring along with the TDoc drive. I have so many questions and feel like you could have covered so much more. Don't forget that the Watt levels put out are very deceptive, next time be sure to conduct a 3p crv test in order to determine fluctuation channels.
Hey, I'm going with the 700 dollar build you recommended in your other video. I've never built a pc before or even researched how until now, but seems easy enough. I just wanted to ask if putting together the $700 build with gtx 1060 is similar to the way you put the build together in this video? I just want a good reference point to help me build it so i dont mess it up. Btw i cant address how thankful i am for your videos. If i didnt come across your video i would of ended up purchasing a $1500 laptop instead with slightly lower specs. Now I was able to buy a great 27inch monitor, keyboard, mouse, gaming headset and game chair along with the $700 build today and only hit $1240 with the gtx 1060 6gb version. You saved me a crazy amount of money, man!
Bofahad x The D92 is so fat Cryorig is a good brand but seems more premium price (expensive) He already had the hyper212 which is one of the best if not the best cooler for the price
I am building my first PC, so go easy on me. Are all of the cases pretty much similar to each other in the sense that I could get a different kind than the one showed in your video? I know you need to consider size of course.
Could explain a bit more which cable of the PSU to connect where (some are for SATA, other for PCIE). ^^ And warning people to be careful (even more) with the CPU and the back plate of the case, to not get injured when setting it coz it's sometimes sharp. Good video still. :)
PLEASE HELP ASAP!!! ok so im doing everything step by strp byt for some readon my leds and my 3 fans inside the case arent working. it manages to turn on and run and everything just those things dont turn on. i did put everything correctly into the JFP1 section.
What should I do about the 8 pin connector into my motherboard, it's a gigabyte micro atx motherboard and where the 8 pin SHOULD is there is a 4 pin. Please I need help
I have the same motherboard and just finished building my pc but my issue is that I don't get any display image on my monitor from HDMI. I even removed my 1070 and plugged HDMI into motherboard but still not working.
How long would you say that build took you to build?cause I’m new to pc building and was wondering how long this would take me to build based on the time it took you to build.
Yo bro could you help me? If yes that will be awesome! So my problem is kinda weird cuz my pc is turning on then it turns off but this keeps happening like it turns on then off then on then off. So does someone have any idea on how to fix this?
question:what is best budget 1080 graphic card for the setup, and I want to put 160gb ssd for setup then I want to add 2 tb hard disk ,,,is it possible
this mobo is compatible with kaby lake processor? or better to buy a skylake without problems? is good a i3 skylake? other thing; a single stick of ram of gb like a corsair vengeance LPX 8 GB DDR4 2400 MHZ CL16 It is enough to powering of the mobo?
Questions.. what mhz has the ram? and if is more than 2133 how u install it? dont get what oc means? u just put it to the motherboard and averything is fine?
yo im building with a i5 6400k and a msi 1060 6b, what average fps would i get, and is a 144hz monitor really needed? im mostly gonna play csgo, ovewatch, bf1 and cod. and im sticking with the stock cooler, i wont oc so should i get a stronger cooler
Shrimp Sandwich The difference is in the speed it processes information. But that also depends on the motherboard and processor. If you have ddr4 3200 but the MoBo only supports ddr4 2400 it will run at 2400. Then again, it is worth buying a higher frequency ddr4 if you can overclock the MoBo to accept it. Hope this helps.
Wait till early next year for AMD zen than build a budget micro atx build with a zen cpu and budget gpu for 1080p like the Gtx 1050ti, that'd be under 1k usd with an Os from Microsoft
Great Build, your camera guy did a great job of following your build congrats to him ( or her, don't know). BTW after watching this I will never buy RAM without LEDs, looks awesome, Thank You

1070 wtf get a EVGA FTW gtx 1080 costs 679.99 USD and makes life easier
Techno Creeper a 1070 is $240 ish less. From researching benchmarks, it doesn't seem cost effective for the small boost in GPU performance you get going from a 1070 to a 1080. Do you have a particular reason you feel so strongly about your recommendation?
If you're gonna get a 1080 its way more expensive If you have the money I would wait for the 1080ti over the 1080
30:20 :)
woaaa what is this timing!? i was just about to build my first gaming pc and was wondering how to do it. Good stuff man keep it up!
THANK YOU Brotherman! You rock man.... I looked for hours trying to find the simple tutorial.
I'm building a pc very similarly to this soon so this video will come in handy, great video bro keep it up
Just finished my pc build and it works THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
Awesome video. I am an old man building my first computer, a Z270 with I7-7700. I am a little slow with the wiring, but you have helped me so much. I thank you.
This was so helpful, just bought mine and hit a wall. Thanks for the help, great video!
Name the Kitten "Gamer!"
Also thanks for the detailed step by step institutions Should help me when I build my rig next year.
+Hudson Ball glad I could help :)
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
My only observation is that you would do much better if the case was laid on its side to install stuff. Watching your video, folks will assume a vertical installation is easy.
+TokenAsianGuy good point, I should mention that next time, glad you liked the vid :)
This is how all comments should be, constructive criticism and feedback, good job 😁
Subscribed, imma build my first gaming pc next year (3months to go!) and this would help me so much by then.
+Apis Yusof thanks for subbing :) glad I could help :) enjoy your new PC
very "GOOD" tutorial. that is one hell of a mess for the cables. very WELL DONE.
that was at least 3 times the needed amount of thermal paste
yep xD
Not 3 times the amount, maybe a little bit over...It will be fine it won't overheat!
It's a myth. Amount of thermal paste doesn't matter unless you use too little.
MMMHOTCHEEZE spoken like a true gentleman
MMMHOTCHEEZE in that case I'm using the whole thing my cpu will be -99999999 degrees
That's the sweetest kitty ever!
some dude stole your video, which I really enjoyed this video, so I had find you and sub you man I enjoyed this! I'm using some of these components to build my first computer, I'm going water-cooled instead for fun :) once again thanks for the video!

Really nice build/video, dude!
Hi, am very amazed with the level of skill in this video, would like to find out if you build one for me when am ready?
I noticed at the end of the video you recommended plugging in the monitor to the mother board. I would recommend plugging in the monitor to the video card. Cable management helps air flow which will ultimately keep your computer cooler.

Great video. Just one thing: The light should be in front of you, but not behind you (the light that comes through the window).
Thank you.
Great instructional video and thank you for providing the price list as well. :)
+Jenn MArie you'r welcome, thank you for watching :-)
I have the corsair spec 03 :D Should of got the 03 instead of the 02.
Not sure if the 212 even would fit in the 02
just finished building my pc thanks man this video helped out sosososo much
YESSSSS IVE BEEENN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO THANK YOU!!!!
What 's the lowest price graphic card that you can recommend for this MOBO
very good tutorial! incredibly thorough.
+roaringleo57 thnx so much:)
hey cool vid; why i7 instead if i5 6600k and why so much ssd istead of 256G ssd en 1or 2 tera for less money? thanks
I'm using the i7 for video editing too, for just gaming the i5 would have made more sense $-to-performance.
personally i'd have gone with an aio & def go with some nice red n black cable extensions, hate the ketchup n mustard & you need better cable management other than that it's a nice build john
19:43 Do you plug the same cords to a HDD or does this only apply for an SSD?
Why not go with a liquid cooler, like an H-100i or H-60 due to space. That cpu cooler looks so bulky and looks like it would dump so much heat into case. LegendaryGameChannel What cooler you got?
I believe its the corsair h100i liquid cooler
LegendaryGameChannel Good Temps I have the Corsair H80I GT..Under Load I get 45c
Question, I'm going off your 1,500$ build with the GTX MSI 1080X, and I'm curious about the case the Noctis if it's compatible with and optical drive? Thanks!
unfortunately there's no 5.25" drive bay on the Noctis, I think they didn't want to take away from the aesthetics
+Awe of Tech damn thanks anyways, I'm building my new pc off of those specs and the usb Windows 10 is pretty expensive
Don't worry you can just get a cheap CD driver off Amazon or even craigslist and get the Disc. Plus you can use it later on for CD installations.
I gonna switch to Skylake soon. Getting a pentium g4400. Dual core but a bad ass one. Plus I get that good upgrade path
why not get the i3 and not have to upgrade for quite a while?
Because for me to get an i3. I'd have to get a shitty motherboard. I'd rather get a really nice motherboard and still a good cpu for now.
Danny Daniel I'd rather get a "shit" motherboard. All they sacrifice is RAID, more than 2 case fans, overclocking ability, more than 4 sata ports, Crossfire/SLI and more than 16 GB ram.

Fancy mobo are almost always a huge waste of money unless you overclock or have some sort of RAID setup or multiple GPUs
Bought an i3 for my sister and it's killing AAA games on high/ultra 60fps 1440(with 980) a pentium might bottleneck a card faster than a radeon 380
The G4400 performs equal to the i3 anyways no reason to spend an extra 50 when you can put htat into a Z170 SLI/XF RAID etc
at least his not that ass that buys an ASUS rampage motherboard with an I5
Hey man great build I am thinking to do that build I just have a 3 questions

where does the network adapter go on the motherboard if you have one?
if it's a PCI Express Network Adapter, then in one of the PCI slots below the graphics card
Nice clear and concise build. You said "Plug your monitor in the back of the Motherboard to install windows 10"..is there any reason why you shouldn't plug it into your GPU?
xboxgamer no
xboxgamer if you don't have an hdmi input on your mobo than connect it to your card
great video should help me with my first build a lot! coincidentally i bought most of the same parts with the exception of the 6700k i got 6600k. can u do a part 2 on overclocking?
You got a freesync monitor with a nvidia gpu? You should've went with the rx 480. I don't think you thought that through.
Thos guy might not explained as well but his footage is on top !!!
Are there any other sites selling the CPU, the fan is currently unavailable :(
Here's a link for the cooler by itself amzn.to/2cBTPxr weird that the bundle isn't available right now, the total price should come out to around the same though
Awe of Tech Great, Thanks!

im going to build my first pc. do u recommend i5 6500 or 6600k
depends on what youre doing... i have a 6500 and its a beast
+Luca W gtx 1060
ok thx:)
if you want to OC then 6600k but if not then the 6500, 6500 is more price per performance
Can we put the ram sticks the other way around showing the vengence logo?
Also why is the fan not facing the case fan?
man this cooler is a monster
Hey, I'm going with the 700 dollar build you recommended in your other video. I've never built a pc before or even researched how until now, but seems easy enough. I just wanted to ask if putting together the $700 build with gtx 1060 is similar to the way you put the build together in this video? I just want a good reference point to help me build it so i dont mess it up. Btw i cant address how thankful i am for your videos. +Zack "TriippyHD" yes it is extremely similar, this guide should be close enough for you to do the entire assembly from it
Didn't you check your lighting before you started recording? It's quite harsh.
Will this case fit a 120mm fan on the bottom, along with the psu?
The cooler has dust already in it xD
U had this cooler a long time ago?
haha yes from the previous build forgot to remove all that dust before recording :-/
Very hard to do even with compressed air
+Awe of Tech Cooling a 300$ CPU with a Evo 212
Bofahad x The D92 is so fat
Cryorig is a good brand but seems more premium price (expensive)
He already had the hyper212 which is one of the best if not the best cooler for the price
Psu mounted the wrong side :)
Having the fan down there is no place to take air from so the correct side is facing up.
How do you get all the cable managment do all the things brings all the cables?
did you have to buy any additional cables?
Does your front panel audio work? I plugged mine to the exact same place, doesn't work.
Hello.Do you hear any kind of sound from mobo when you turn pc on?
Hey man! What happened with your old parts??
Have you sold them already?
I have de 250 bucks that you want!
hey sorry man someone came and picked them up the other day :(
:/ ok thanks
Hey Awe, Can you review those Vengeance LED please? I am Wondering if I should get Trident Z or Those ram sticks...
I am building my first PC, so go easy on me. Are all of the cases pretty much similar to each other in the sense that I could get a different kind than the one showed in your video? I know you need to consider size of course.
Also I didn't hear you mention GTX 1080, but I assume you can use one as well?
Could explain a bit more which cable of the PSU to connect where (some are for SATA, other for PCIE). ^^ And warning people to be careful (even more) with the CPU and the back plate of the case, to not get injured when setting it coz it's sometimes sharp.
Good video still. :)
What would be a good gold certified power supply
Awe of Tech does the io shield come with the mother board?
do the led lights turn off when the computer is in sleep mode? b/c i don't want to have these lds lighting up my room when im sleeping
does this come with a CD drive? cause i have no idea what an optical drive does and im just wanting to know if I have to buy one
there are some graphics card called Ti like geforce gtx 750 Ti...but i dont know what is Ti..is it titanium?
PLEASE HELP ASAP!!! ok so im doing everything step by strp byt for some readon my leds and my 3 fans inside the case arent working. it manages to turn on and run and everything just those things dont turn on. i did put everything correctly into the JFP1 section.
What should I do about the 8 pin connector into my motherboard, it's a gigabyte micro atx motherboard and where the 8 pin SHOULD is there is a 4 pin. Please I need help
did u forget a mounting screw on the hyper evo?
I have the same motherboard and just finished building my pc but my issue is that I don't get any display image on my monitor from HDMI. I even removed my 1070 and plugged HDMI into motherboard but still not working.
great tutorial u are very clear and descriptive great job
+MrRyudragon thanks so much, sending a Hadoken your way, and lookout for my next build that I'm doing really soon :-)
FINNELY FOUND A GOOD TURTOURIAL
nice video.thank you. building my first pc next week. :)
Did you build this one?
How long would you say that build took you to build?cause I’m new to pc building and was wondering how long this would take me to build based on the time it took you to build.
is the step at 6:26 really important?
Yes. It gives a proper medium for heat to transfer from processor to heat sink.
WB IsMe thank you
The CPU would fry without it.
ASquidWithC4 Thanks for the help!
sorry im a noob when it coms to pc builds but what does he mean by "download all the necessary drives" and where can i find them?
Yo bro could you help me?
If yes that will be awesome!
So my problem is kinda weird cuz my pc is turning on then it turns off but this keeps happening like it turns on then off then on then off.
So does someone have any idea on how to fix this?
16 or 32gb usb drive for win10? the win10 installation media tool is less than 4gb....
I will build my first pc to this, thank you :)
question:what is best budget 1080 graphic card for the setup, and I want to put 160gb ssd for setup then I want to add 2 tb hard disk ,,,is it possible
I love this channel
+Awe Of Tech if i want 4 RAM do do i have to turn it to the other side
wait what about a Audio card? is that needed for this build?
i like how he starts out with cable mannagement and then totaly ignores it after doing 2 or 3 routings of cables
this mobo is compatible with kaby lake processor? or better to buy a skylake without problems? is good a i3 skylake? other thing; a single stick of ram of gb like a corsair vengeance LPX 8 GB DDR4 2400 MHZ CL16 It is enough to powering of the mobo?
Questions.. what mhz has the ram? and if is more than 2133 how u install it? dont get what oc means? u just put it to the motherboard and averything is fine?
yo im building with a i5 6400k and a msi 1060 6b, what average fps would i get, and is a 144hz monitor really needed? im mostly gonna play csgo, ovewatch, bf1 and cod. and im sticking with the stock cooler, i wont oc so should i get a stronger cooler
i keep seeing bad reviews for most new MSI boards are they any good ?
Ray Chand yes I have mine in a dule sli 1080s I use the M5
was it hard first time putting windows on and such ?
i think i might get the M7 but can only afford 1060 atm should i wait for 1080s, im just trying to playing overwatch
Ray Chand If you are just planning on playing games like overwatch, then a 1060 would be perfect you and you save up to $200-$300
Thank you my MAN !
Can this fit with the 210 source case?
Damn bro. You listed everything except the monitor. Which one is it?
very very informative, well done, thanks
so if i mount the mobo incorrectly, it will short my mobo? can you kind of explain it to me how to do it, i don't really get it from the video
Name of the song pls?
I think cable managmant should be good also....
CrazyKiWi Yea, he said somewhere around the end to use zipties
so the 3200mhz ram you have there works on the MSI m5?
Kyle Sorrell Will work on any z170 chipset motherboard
Is it ok to use a gtx 1050 2gb on msi Z170A M5?

Great Video :D
What do different memory types do? Like whats the diff between ddr4 3200 and ddr4 3000
Hope this helps.
by the time i get that much money this build would be outdated XD
Finally found a guy who's in same boat as mine :feelsbadman:
Wait till early next year for AMD zen than build a budget micro atx build with a zen cpu and budget gpu for 1080p like the Gtx 1050ti, that'd be under 1k usd with an Os from Microsoft

No it wouldn't unless you're a 5 year old kid.
