Jerry being so committed to his therapy puppet despite everyone giving him shit for it is just a perfect example of how he's grown as a character. He knows that he's not a smart guy, he knows that hes not winning a battle of wits with anyone in his house, but he keeps plugging away at his dumb little ideas regardless of how people tear him down. My guy really found his bliss in the most backwards way imaginable.
It's nice to see summer being just as much of a creep as Morty

@The Destroyer BHB I don't think that's improvement. In the last episode of season 4, he passively mocked therapist, using his sock puppet. He does some fine job in some episode, but even incompetent person does some jobs sometimes. I feel Jerry didn't learn anything in season 4.

I just realized when summer was using the invisibility belt the grass from the yard wasn't invisible. But whenever Jerry was driving the trash truck, everything was invisible except him.
Jerry obviously had the belt on inside out. (And on the truck.)

Rick has a "family Therapy mode" because he hates going there and claims he doesn't respect it, but when clone beth assumes she had explosive device in her, Rick says "what I'm hearing is that you think it's a bomb"...

Who knows perhaps he actually tried therapy at one point in his life, and found that it was unable to give him the answers he was looking for, and ended up turning to the bottle. Especially since it is kind of hard to say "Beth, I only came back into your life because I was hoping the dirtbag that walked out on you, and killed my original beth, only reason Morty and I are here"
Rick is too smart for therapy to "help" him, and when he is called out by anyone it is a bruise to his ego, but he thinks his behavior is at least justifiable and nobody else is smart enough to fully tolerate him.
I have a feeling the twist will be that both Beth's are clones. The real Beth died a long time ago as a child.

What I like about this scene is that really shows us how Beth is so much like Rick. Neither of them were really trying yet they were matching each other.

I thought the whole Morty thing was reversed? I can't really see Rick repeatedly killing Morty as despite how he acts and what he says we've seen time and time again Rick loves Morty.

I still don’t understand why Beth was so angry she had a clone the whole episode
A couple of reasons. First, Beth asked Rick to choose whether or not to keep her in his life. From space Beth's perspective, Rick chose to get rid of her. Meanwhile, Earth Beth thinks Rick lied to her because she didn't know about space Beth.
Second, both Beth's think it's possible that they might be the clone and Rick specifically said he would kill the clone if they had no need for it, so the Beths were afraid Rick would kill them.
Third, each Beth represents what the other gave up. Space Beth is a reminder to Earth Beth that she isn't living up to her potential, while Earth Beth is a reminder to Space Beth that she abandoned responsibilities as a mother to go play superhero.
It's not until the end where the Beths work together that they decide to direct their anger issues towards Rick instead of themselves.

I honestly dont know why he would care about either Beth at all. He did just leave one back in a doomed reality. He has definitely left behind others before. He doesnt seperate clone beths from robo beths in the decoy war episode.
He probably developed feelings for Beth the longer he stays with her and the family. He was crappy in early seasons because he still "try" to blend among them since he had been traveling on space thinking on getting revenge on the Rick that killed his very own family.
He really start to consider them as family that truly matter to him.
Season 6 Rick even pulls out a weird card.
Instead of leaving with Morty to the next Dimension, they instead decide to go to another dimension with all of them.
In a world where they say Parmesan weird...
So yeah Rick has become more loving towards them(except Morty, cause Morty is Morty).

i'm seeing arguments about the how grass on summer should have been invisible, i think the belt only turns you and the users clothes invisible.
any other material is kind of rejected. this is proven with the lawn mower grass, and the fire extinguisher sprayed on morty.
it really shows how much Dr Wong got to Rick considering the lengths hes going to avoid therapy way beyond turning himself into a pickle

I think Beth is justified for sorta leaving her family for a while.
Her options for adventure and self growth was eliminated ever since she hooked up with Jerry, but now that the clone was there she was able to explore and do whatever she wants.
Everyone wants that freedom.
I just realised something- it's Beth's fault that nobody knows who the real Beth is- Rick just gave his daughter a chance to explore the universe and a life away from family...he had a fool proof plan to bring his daughter home whenever he wanted to...rick couldn't have told Beth about the device either because the clone would die when the device activated and Beth is really into not killing- case in point - how Beth forced rick to investigate the decoy families....the same logic applies in this scene...at first i was questioning why rick doesn't just shoot the clone Beth...but then I realised space Beth probably would not allow it...
In the scene he purposefully not look and mixed them, he left to chance to decide which would stay. I think he was trying to give both of his daughters an equal chance, he clearly cares about them, and i dont think he expected Space Beth to ever come back. And if she did the memories of the clone would go to the other essencialy merging them into one, he cares about them so he would not kill one.
Buuut space beth is surprised "clone beth" "retuned" and i dont know about that

Rick wasn’t even trying to hurt her or fight her because no matter if she isn’t his Beth he still cares for his daughter. He was on straight up defense. And why would she be so upset at him for doing what she wanted? All of a sudden she stops and they both panic thinking they’re a clone. Clones aren’t supposed to know if they are one.
I know I don’t get why both Beths were angry at Rick because it was Beth who asked to be cloned in the first place.
Because as the doc said, she thought he tried to kill her to stay with clone beth - y'know, one programmed by him - and if that's not hurtful and outrageous i dont know what it is.

One of the philosophical questions this show keeps coming to is the Ship of Theseus. The ship is displayed at a museum, the ship's parts degrade and crumble. Overtime, the parts that crumble and break are replaced by new parts, until all the ship's parts are replaced. Is it still the Ship of Theseus, or is it now a replica that took it's place, is it even the same ship anymore? If there was a 100% accurate replica of me that thinks and acts exactly like me in every possible way, is it still me? This question has been brought up multiple time within the show and I predict that one day, it will be answered, the answer may not be correct, but in questions like the Ship of Theseus, no answer is correct or incorrect, just what you think is correct.

In this show there is no such thing as an “original,” just the person and instance of them in their universe that we follow.
This makes alot of since from ricks perspective, remember original rick body died a while back and he transferred his consciousness to a bunch of other bodies, So to rick fusing the memories of the two Beth’s is the same as keeping both alive to him.
WHY SHE THOUGHT IT WAS A BOMB IS BEYOND ME. HOW SHE GOT IT OUT IS EVEN FARTHER BEYOND ME.

I suppose if Rick had the AI analyze the video between the two Beth's he could figure out which was which. I guess the AI could slow the video down or find something about Beth Original and Beth Clone that was slightly different at the start. But where's the fun in that. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.

I don't get why Beth gets angry at rick, she's just as irresponsible and lack the love for her family just like rick does. She abandoned everyone and yet she get angry because rick made it so their family life wouldn't be destroyed if she tried to come back, which she never even think about it until she saw the bomb
