It was my oldest brother, 11 years older than me, that introduced me to the Beatles, when I was 6 years old. He gave me a 45 with Revolution on one side, the only one I played, and Hey Jude on the flip side. Those who say the Beatles didn’t make a difference in people’s lives, much less popular culture, don’t know what they’re talking about. They made a difference in mine when I was 6 years old. When your mother is being abused, in whatever way and you couldn’t do anything to stop it, listening to Revolution over and over while jumping on the bed was all this six year old could do. It even included the screaming part for which I used for an altogether different purpose. I have six children and I said to them as children, now adults, listening to the Beatles will NEVER become irrelevant in music nor the memories of those who made it through hard times thanks to them. RIP John and George. Music is now a part a therapy but in 1969 I figured it out myself.

If there was ever a doubt; the time of John Lennon's artistic genius, "Imagine" forever sealed that doubt and time. What strikes me as ultimately uncanny were the other timely geniuses that surrounded him: McCartney, Starr, Harrison, Martin, Epstein, Sutcliffe and the list goes on. I lived during this time.
This is such a gorgeous, heartfelt song. I feel lucky that I got to see some of Johns original scribbled imagine lyrics on a hotel stationery in an exhibit several years back in NYC. I also signed a paper on gun control that was next to Johns stained glasses and bag of belongings given to Yoko in 1980. After all these decades, of course we all wish the world “can live as one.” Thank you John Lennon.

What strikes me as ultimately uncanny were the other timely geniuses that surrounded him: McCartney, Starr, Harrison, Martin, Epstein, Sutcliffe and the list goes on. I lived during this time.

This is such a gorgeous, heartfelt song. I feel lucky that I got to see some of Johns original scribbled imagine lyrics on a hotel stationery in an exhibit several years back in NYC. I also signed a paper on gun control that was next to Johns stained glasses and bag of belongings given to Yoko in 1980. After all these decades, of course we all wish the world “can live as one.” Thank you John Lennon.
