I became an Age UK befriender in April. This video sums up what I have found so far. It is a valuable, rewarding experience for the older person and the volunteer, which we look forward to each week. The Volunteer Co-ordinator is fully supportive and a delight to work with. If you have the opportunity, I recommend becoming a befriender.
