Personally, I performed this with a 750 voice choir with mixed professionals and amateur singers, very good, talented people and these people did just as good a job. Plus, you don't know the breakdown of the choir. In addition my good man, it was directed by Mark A. Miller himself, a good friend of mine and the alto part is not weakish. P.S. The word is 'Their' not 'There', how can I trust you when you don't know the proper use of words and you weren't alive even in the 90's?
It has the melody of a heroic Hollywood film. Imagine the tune played by the string section of an orchestra. The repeated call "even when, even when" reminds me of "The Call of Magic" theme from the Elder Scrolls: Morrowind video game.

Ok I've looked everywhere and can't find any sheet music for the violin stuff. Can someone please tell me where to find it, as I am a amateur violinist myself and really want to learn this piece.
Actually, it follows the composer's tempo marking almost exactly. There's a version here on youtube that the composer conducted himself and the tempo is very close to his.
I can't hear the extra instruments. Admittedly I have lost some hearing. In this case it doesn't bother me; the idea seems like gilding the lily. I like hearing a full choir of mature voices. Gives it more emotional power than a small choir or children's choir can mange.

Alto presents just as many challenges as singing soprano does. The ability to sight read well really is a must. The octave itself has its own challenges because women's voices can be trained to go higher...but there is a limit on the lower octave. Each voice part is equally as challenging, there isn't one that's more difficult than the other, just as there isn't one single voice part more important than the other.
My choir sang that song once and the director told us that it was written on the wall of a concentration camp.... so beautiful!
