I hate that they put something in the way when you put the oil back in! I know that you can buy a special funnel that fits exactly for vw and Audi but it’s like 30$. I’m trying to lower not raise my costs haha nice work my friend!
All ways use Liquid Moly 6200 0W20 for VW engines per Your Owner Manual. Buy it from FCP Europe in a kit . After You buy 2 kits , You can return the first Filter, Canister O ring and Drain Plug with the plug O ring for a refund . Just pay the return postage . Read FCP’s Return Policy first . Good Luck!!!
Tiguan R Line 2021. I have to add at least 1 quart of oil about every 7k miles before the next oil change every 10k miles. Dealership says it’s okay to do this. Is this normal on this vehicle? Only has 30k miles. I been doing this since I bought it brand new.
All Turbo Engines Burn Oil . Always Just Change the Oil ,Filter,Canister O ring and Drain Plug every 5000 Miles . Never go over 5000 miles or You will regret it later on if You keep the same car .
@@nfr59tn.8that’s completely untrue. VW just built these like shit and refuse to take responsibility for these awful engines. These cars will have a short shelf life
Volkswagen claims that this is normal but you will find very few modern (turbo or non turbo engines) that burn oil. 10k mile oil changes is more of a testament to the composition of modern synthetic oils used in cars today. They do not degrade as fast due to formula changes and advances in oil technology. Many mechanics are still weary of this and would recommend earlier oil changes but it’s not entirely necessary. Make sure you keep an eye on oil levels. My wife has a Tiguan and has the same oil burning issues you do.
@velez0529ify trade it in and get a Acura RDX they have thr best turbo engine. Hondas 2.0T IA simple and don't burn any oil. Thata what I'm buying. My sister has the Honda accord 2.0T and it's awesome 👌.
@@RBTheMechanic what do you consider a lot of maintenance? It calls for oil changes every 10K miles, air filter at 60k, spark plugs at like 80K, transmission fluid at 80K. Not much more than that.
You should replace that drain plug every time. They are cheap. Its has an o-ring just like the filter housing does that you should also change every time.
@@RBTheMechanic quick question how much would it cost to replace that connector wire to the oil level sensor something chewed mine up and can I do it myself
This video gives me the confidence to change my own oil. Thank you!
You can do it!
Great video, thank you! Greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽.

Did you use VW 508 spec oil?
What ever customer got or requested
There's only a hand full of brands that make this oil. Mobil 1 ESP x2 has the 508 spec for VW.
