Joey Skar Ermac is the best! He can expand combos and you can do a combo very well if you do his overhead chop crushing blow,amplified force lift,right + o/B and then Reptile’s slide (amplified or not)
The damage on that Ermac krushing blow is laughable. Not only is the requirement absurd, but you aren't even rewarded for it. I think this variation needed more time in the oven

Why would they do that. I mean games logic makes alot of sense. Geras can't get a easy krushing blow for 30%+ with little effort. And shang gets 15% with highly unlikely possibilities. Seems balanced to me.
I like how Shang Tsung is a “ZoNEr “ yet when I play online I get kept out and outzoned by liu kang’s and Cassie and alot of characters smh. They could’ve at least kept body drop
NRS straight up sucks at making characters. They'll give mixup monsters 80% combo potential and the best projectiles in the game, then call Noob a zoner because he has more than one projectile.
Aaron Johnson the variations are really bad they should have just gave every character more moves in one standard variation characters feel incomplete.
The only things are emacs lift is one of the best anti airs in the game and the super kick is really hard to punish and can be cancelled for really good pressure. Also the slide gives him a 50/50 that gives him a KB if they guess wrong.

Dear Shang mains, The last hit of the F2,4,2 string is flawless blockable as you may or may not know. This usually only works against someone who knows that. If you do F2,4 and cancel into the ermac lift and they are trying to flawless block the last hit, you will get the KB because they blocked late. Still not a good KB requirement but 🤷♂️ . The pro player Raptor has a guide on this variation thats where I learned that.
The last time I played mortal kombat was when I installed an emulator on my phone to play mortal kombat 3. I would consider myself pretty bad at the game and I have no idea how the newer versions of MK play. I'm way too out of the loop. But I have to say, this guy's content is on point. I don't even play MK11 but I know great content when I see it.
Amplified super kick sets up for a 4 into reptile slide krushing blow. You have to hit early as they fall from the other side, but it’s fairly consistent 398 damage per game.
I've exclusively been playing this variation since it's release in KL and it's been working well, I think this variation has to potential which is yet to be shown. It turns shang tsung from a zoner into a pressure/punish flighter (which is how I play). I think this variation is highly underrated at the minute.
I really hope the 2nd variation gets buffed in some way. It's very interesting, it just doesn't really have anything that justifies it's existence. Also, I don't know if you noticed but shake also has a pretty decent KB.
I've been taking Shang tsung into a lot of online games. Before Terminator. Also with shake. Is super fun. Counter projectile from long screen play, and instantly read the wake up and Bam crushing blow punish. Plus there's no avoiding the shake attack. Once it gets hit. It's a free 11%. I also used jump 2, 4, super kick (amp), 4, ermac force lift (amp), and dash forward, with I think 2,1, reptile slide. Which is like 37%. Isn't spectacular damage compared to some. Especially putting in so much effort..but it looks beautiful once hit into a combo 😂😂👌
This is my favorite variation of Shang for three reasons. 1: It’s not the first variation, which is good because I HATE fireball spam. 2: It’s not the second variation, so it doesn’t suck. 3: It’s the MK ninjas, how cool is that?
No they did not buff spellmaster it's the same. My best advice is to set up the soul well/cash out on it whenever you get a knockdown. Whenever your opponent starts zoning at you use the screaming soul EX, it's basically cetrions hellfire without being in the air. Shang low profiles so he can avoid most projectiles and get a nice chunk of damage. It's 12% which is nice. It's also a great anti air. You can also cancel the screaming soul. An example is F2,4 into screaming soul then cancel it and continue your pressure or go for a throw. A perfect scenario is have soul well set up. Then when you get a counter hit/punish or your opponent wasn't blocking at the right time, F2,4 into crashing flames EX. you get a knockdown and then you can cash out on the soul well and get some health back. Be warned the Soul well will disappear from KBs and FBs. Haven't figured out how to use the move that replaced corpse drop.
i main Shang with this variation, and personally its his best. His move-set itself is extremely good and is practically a 50/50 everytime. Sure his combos might only reach around 340-370, but still with his mixups, and his fatal blow combo of around 480, arguably he is an S tier character.
“When blocked late” krushing blows are for baiting flawless blocks. Shang Tsungs forward 2 4 2 and 1 1 2 strings are plus but have a gap in the last hit of both of them. Throw in force lift when you think your opponent is going to flawless block the last hit in the string and they will “block late” giving you the kb.
I've grown to love the Ninja variation, the shake move has become a very regular move for me to keep in my mind. Shake is so useful against projectiles!
Please inform yourself before doing a half-researched video of a new variation. Reptile's slide gives him 50/50s, smoke has a krushing blow (bugged but....c'mon) the "worst Krushing blow requierement" is meant for punishing trying to flawless block his strings, the superkick cancels are an actual treath, you can combo into Reptile's krushing blow for great damage, and the superkick Is very hard to punish.
Het underdawg, you actually can get a Reptile KB as a combo ender, all you have to do is do a Rain' superkick, amplify, then stand 4 and slide amplify. Just make sure you hit enemy with 4 when they are as high in the air as possible
This is gonna be my favorite variation! I was pretty made at NRS when his two variations didn’t have a single ninja, but now that they have all of the ninjas, I don’t have to do casual matches anymore! I love the ninjas, I use Rain, Reptile, and Ermac because they are very good kombo extenders/enders. Ima be a beast in KL now.
The best combo ender is actually D2. So right after Force Lift just D2. Also, there are many combos that combo into Reptile KB. Basically, if you can connect the Rain kick, 4 into Reptile is a KB in every single combo. Off of D2KB you get 50% for example. 44% if you punish something really unsafe with 4, Rain, 4, Reptile KB. And timing 4 after the Rain kick is not even hard. You have to do it before they appear on your screen again. Rain KB is not as ridiculous as people think. If you condition your opponent with Rain cancels and throws right after, they'll start to duck the throw and that's when you catch them with KB. It's hard in a block string because they could just poke out but it works in the corner on knockdown or if they breakaway. Instead of a throw you can also do 114 since it's pretty good shimmy and hit confirm. So Rain cancel is actually a very good mix up, also because you can commit to the kick because it's only -9. Off of F24 it's actually completely safe because of the slight push back. No one can punish that.
Here’s my ideas for what the crushing blow requirement for every ninja move and damage should be. Force lift: Catch an opponent 3 times in the air KB Damage - from 142 to 225 Slide: Hit at max distance or end a combo with it 5 times KB Damage - from 265.50 to 280 Superkick - Amplify it 3 times KB Damage - from 120 to 200
Jump in 2, standing 4, enhanced rain kick, standing 4, enhanced ermac slam, dash up quickly, standing 4, regular ermac slam, comes to 377, or you can finish with a froward 2 into reptile slide for around 360. At the end you can also substitute a standing 4 for a standing 1 into fatal blow for over 500 damage. This variation is in my top 3 mains.

Rain use to have mind games with his Super kick cancels and I think that's what they tried to replicate for his KB requirement. Though it should be active with normal cancels too to make it more like his old playstyle
This build can be really good but only if the player knows how to properly pressure and react. Its more of a anti zoning rather than zoning. The suprt kick will be the main offense when used correctly.
This variation is amazing it get rid of those spamming jade and kitana mains so now they actually need skills so I'm happy with this variation it can counter zoners which was be problem with kombat league to me kombat league is a joke when it comes to skills and ranking
I play soul eater and I usually can get the crushing blow for ermacs force lift if I low poke witha down 4 or down 1 and then immediately into force lift which usually gets them but yeah high level players wont fall for it unless I condition them by not doing anything after I poke, I usually just poke once and block so they in turn attack back and then il catch them later on in the match works like 70% of the time
I only choose this variation when someone zones just BC smoke is in it. Another is if I feel like doing some cool brutalities. I usually pick warlock. Shang tsung is my main and has been since he first released...so I'm disappointed in his crazy damage Nerf but I didn't drop him but I'm picking up my old main before shang tsung released, just BC barakas third variation is sick at least IMO. Marauder is still better though.

i think ninjas' krushing blow are fair enough, otherwise shang tsung would be broken. And yeah, this variation change the style of shang tsung' gameplay. Pre-patch, it was zoning, now shang tsung has a pressure game and really like that.

He loses soul steal, corpse drop and the ground fire balls, three far superior moves.
The frame rate for reptile should buffed to almost the likes of subzero

Shake also has a Krushing Blow, if you parry with it twice in a row successfully you get a pretty high damage Krushing Blow

You forgot that shake has a krushing blow wich leads into a lot of damage
The Smoke shake has a krushing blow as well. I just don’t know why it tells you how to land it in the menu.

You can get the slide krushing blow from a jumping kick

Rain use to have mind games with his Super kick cancels and I think that's what they tried to replicate for his KB requirement. Though it should be active with normal cancels too to make it more like his old playstyle

If you use an uppercut after the force lift in the superkick combo, you get 38%. Is a gimmicky variation but fun non less.
This build can be really good but only if the player knows how to properly pressure and react. Its more of a anti zoning rather than zoning. The suprt kick will be the main offense when used correctly.

This variation is amazing it get rid of those spamming jade and kitana mains so now they actually need skills so I'm happy with this variation it can counter zoners which was be problem with kombat league to me kombat league is a joke when it comes to skills and ranking
one of the reqs for crushing blow should be using 3 of the ninja forms in a single combo.
Underdawg it's now possible to do the block late crushing blow cause they change how the flawless blocks works
You can amplify the force lift again after the krushing blow. Still not incredibly useful though.

I play soul eater and I usually can get the crushing blow for ermacs force lift if I low poke witha down 4 or down 1 and then immediately into force lift which usually gets them but yeah high level players wont fall for it unless I condition them by not doing anything after I poke, I usually just poke once and block so they in turn attack back and then il catch them later on in the match works like 70% of the time

Thinking that the logic behind the ermac crushing blow is to catch people trying to flawless block your f242.
I only choose this variation when someone zones just BC smoke is in it. Another is if I feel like doing some cool brutalities. I usually pick warlock. Shang tsung is my main and has been since he first released...so I'm disappointed in his crazy damage Nerf but I didn't drop him but I'm picking up my old main before shang tsung released, just BC barakas third variation is sick at least IMO. Marauder is still better though.

Amp rain kick into stand 4 slide will KB every time if you time it right.

He also forgot to mention the Shake Krushing Blow and the fact that you can combo after the meterless Superkick Krushing Blow. Don't know how he overlooked those two things that are exclusive to this variation.

I feel like this variation of Shang Tsing would b the best for beginners or safe players, those who aren’t very rushdown.

i think ninjas' krushing blow are fair enough, otherwise shang tsung would be broken. And yeah, this variation change the style of shang tsung' gameplay. Pre-patch, it was zoning, now shang tsung has a pressure game and really like that.
