    Credit to Wilbur and Orville or did all this come later? I think their wings were just straight slabs, albeit with the correct profile but no movable edges?

    Nice visual of the slat delaying stall by increasing upwash and lift. The cause of the upwash is due to the slat's stagnation pressure forcing air to change direction and flow through the slot as it extends.

      @jacksonsingleton As the slat extends, watch the somke lines transition from a downward path to an upward one.
