You’ll never feel mentally fully ready to move out, it will be scary and stressful but once you settle in it is the best thing mentally to have a space to be alone/ have whoever you want over without bothering other people in the house! It also does help you grow tremendously as a person! 💗

Strongly disagree! Moving out was the best decision of my life. My Mom is the worse person to live with & so it was amazing to be apart from her every day & our relationship is better because of it.

As someone who moved out at 20 & got married at 21, you can do it! You really start living when you have to sit by yourself & be alone. Life is more than what society portrays. Best of luck!

Being in your 20's can be both very stressful and exciting! I think you're handling it very well by just taking it day by day. When the time is right, having your own space and making it your own will be the best leap into adulthood but it's understandable not wanting to make any big decisions right now with the way the economy is. You're still so young! Enjoy the process. You're doing great, girl. :)

honestly sometimes i don’t think you are really ever 100% ready for anything in life but you just gotta take the leap and do it! if you really wanna move out then do it! you never know what could happen in a year! yeah the prices could drop or they could double again and even if they do go down, you could end up not liking ur first apartment and want to find something new once ur lease is up! i moved out & got married at 18 before even graduating high school! it can be stressful but when i say it’s so worth it to live in ur own space i mean it!!

Moving is definitely a hard process. As someone who just moved down south a few months ago (not willingly) I definitely wasn’t ready to leave Long Island, and although I’m used to the area where I currently live….mentally I’m still in NY. It takes a while to truly accept a huge change like that. However, just take it slow, don’t rush yourself and I’m sure you’ll eventually find a place to calm home for yourself.

Wait and buy if it’s at all possible! Truly if you can get a fist time home owners loan you have benefits - and if the market tanks you can refinance. We bought a house we knew wasn’t our forever home - but having that stepping stone as opposed to renting made it easier to buy another house after.
I don’t know if you’re ever really “ready” to move out but if you are able to skip renting it’s really so much better. And then you can do anything you want to the home as far as decor and not need to worry about if it’s able to be undone.

I 100% feel the being confused in your 20s. I’m 24 and have a really bad chronic illness & need a major surgery in a month. I’m a senior in college and I’m also planning to move over 1,000 miles in about 6 months. everything is overwhelming and stressful!!! I feel like everyone at this age is overwhelmed and confused. also I love how you mentioned rent being so high- my fiancé and I have been looking at apartments to move to for years and the price tripled over time /: move whenever you feel ready❤ if you’re running out of room for your things, maybe you can look into a storage unit until you move? sending all my love sam💗

aw Sam, I love you. I had days when i’d cry thinking about moving out, it made me feel like my childhood was officially gone and I felt bad thinking about leaving my parents but I will say that my relationship with my family has been so much better since I moved out, I appreciate every second that I go over or that I hang out with my family even more now. i’ve grown and learned about myself so much since then as well, it’s natural to not feel ready, it’s a journey and not everything is going to be easy. xo

This is so relatable Sam! I’m 23 also! I just started my big girl job after graduating college & I also want to move out. I’ve also been excited to have my own space & finally create a life for myself, but I’m also scared that I might fail or something will happen & I won’t be able to handle “life”. I love my family, and I will miss them. I cook for my parents & I clean up the house for them, and in return I get to live here for free. This will be the last time I will live rent free & I also want to take advantage while I can. I also don’t want to stay too long & mooch off my parents because I need to grow up someday. There’s just so many feelings I’ve been going through also. Just know you’re not alone ❤& thanks for sharing because I also thought I was alone for a second!!

Hi Sam!! 💗 totally relate to what you’re going through, I’m 22 and have a long term boyfriend (7years) so I feel we’re in such a similar boat. I unfortunately had to move out at 18 because my mom moved away but if I can give you any advice, stay living with your parents as long as you can!! Obviously it would help you save so much money (I’m in ct so same crazy prices as ny) but also once you do, most likely you’ll never live with them again. That’s decades you’ll have to experience living on your own. I know how tempting it is so move into a cute little apartment and have all the extra space but as much as you’ll love and appreciate it for what it is, you’ll never get this time in your life again living with your parents and leaving your family home. I miss it all the time and wish I had more time!! Wait until a really good opportunity comes or until you feel a bit more ready, don’t feel pressured because of everyone around you doing it esp on social media💗 I’m so confused on my own life as well and so glad to hear you talking about it bc it’s the weirdest feeling… love your vids so much😊

your vlogs are literally the best ever! love them so much! and I feel the exact same way about moving out, I'm 19 and all of my friends have moved out and they say it's the best thing ever but I feel like I'm not ready to move out of my child home because I don't feel like this chapter is closed yet like you were saying, and I have a fear of moving to because I just got all of this stuff for my room now and what if it doesn't fit or I don't like it in my new room and I just have a fear of not liking where I'm at and i'm just safe in this chapter that I'm living in right now. anyways love watching your vlogs! they always make my day!!

I’m in FL and the prices are crazy here too but buying would be better than renting. Most rents are a mortgage if not over these days so even if you bought a townhouse you could easily sell down the road or rent that out and have someone else pay the mortgage. Don’t let it stress you out Gods got it all planned out girly

Your feelings are natural Sam. Confidence in your decisions comes from a lifetime experience of making them and solving any problems along the way. IME your 20's is freedom but with daunting uncertainty at times and at other times perhaps recklessness, your 30's is gaining confidence and feeling more secure in who you are, your 40's is a deeper feeling of certainty with more confidence and although I'm not there yet I believe your 50's is the "putting your own needs first and not caring a damn about other's opinions on that" phase. In terms of moving out I believe a lot of conflict is caused by "too many adults in one house syndrome". If a person wants total freedom to live their own life and be taken seriously as a responsible adult, they must fly the nest and take full responsibility for themselves. Its part of growing up and exiting the parent/child dynamic. Even sharing with friends/strangers is more freeing, despite the need to still compromise, because the parent/child dynamic is not there. This is no slur on anybody's parents or on anyone who chooses to stay in the family home a little longer, its just something for all young people growing up to be aware of. Whatever decisions you make in your life Sam, they'll be well considered and hopefully successful. As someone who bought a house without even viewing it (work problems, she sent a friend to view) once told me - there are almost no mistakes which can't be turned around or put right somehow, so we shouldn't be afraid of making them ❤

So to this day I still find myself almost mourning that version of myself and looking back like wow that was me too, this is me now and I’ve grown so much but it’s still like interesting to process.

Don’t feel like you need to be in rush to move out. You seem pretty smart about everything and you’re completely right, the market right now is horrible and prices for things are so expensive. If you have a place to live for free, do what you’ve been doing and just keep saving up. That way, when you do move, you won’t be stressed about financials. Also, since your stressing about space, maybe you can get one of those indoor storage units. You won’t have to worry about too many bugs getting into everything and it won’t be that expensive a month for you to rent it out. I’m 27 and my husband and I are actually moving into his parents house for a year or two so that way we can save up money to get a house. With us dumping $1300 a month on a small apartment, at this rate we won’t be able to get a house and so we made the decision to move back to his parents for a little bit. Don’t feel down on yourself for not being where you want to be. We put a lot of pressure on ourselves to be at a specific stage in life because you hear other people being at that stage, and truth be told, most people are not where they actually want to be in life. If you’re happy, that is all that matters. There’s always temporary fixes to your problems until the day you decide you are ready. 😊

Moving is very stressful, you’re never going to be ready to move out. You kind of just have to just do it. The market in NYC is also extremely competitive. You’ll see an apartment you like one day and the next day it’s gone if you don’t jump on it right away. But once you move and establish yourself, it’ll feel so rewarding!

  • @normacojulun6822

My honest opinion about moving out. I would just try to stay at home as long as I can! So you can save money. I wish I would’ve waited longer to move out when I was in my 20’s! I didn’t move out until I got engaged and I think that was when I knew it was time to move out a but you’ll never mentally be ready! Just know when it’s time it’s time 💗💗

Unpopular opinion but as someone who’s been living on her own since 18, now being 30, I’d say stay home as long as you can. You waste so much money on rent and utilities that you end up working just to make it. Not even live fully. Even for those who make more $$$, if you can save, do that. Wait it out and if you can buy a house and actually have the money go towards something you own.. do that.

Well not completely, someone can struggle with hormonal acne but certain products could still make it worse. I struggle with hormonal acne as well, and for me personally there’s some skincare products that I had to stop using because when I did use them, my skin would breakout even more. Meanwhile I was eating healthy, working out, and doing all the right things.
