- La bataille d'Iéna s'est déroulée le 14 octobre 1806, à Iéna, (Allemagne, actuel land de Thuringe) parallèlement à la bataille d'Auerstaedt, et s'est terminée par une victoire totale des Français commandés par Napoléon contre les Prussiens commandés par le général de Hohenlohe, pendant la Campagne de Prusse et de Pologne.
Quelle admirable fessée ! On comprend la haine de Blücher. En 29 jours, " la première Armée d'Europe " ratatinée. Petit Chapeau, mon Empereur !

Parfois je pense au plus poissard de la Grande Armée. Vous savez : celui qui a parcouru 3000km à raison de 40km par jour , qui campe la veille de la bataille sous une tente trouée alors qu'il pleut des cordes, qui a perdu sa miche de pain de 250gr dans la boue et qui, le lendemain se retrouve le ventre vide avec 2h de sommeil max en première ligne, avance et se prend un pruneau dans le front après 10 mn d'engagement..
Vous avez déjà imaginé ce genre de scenario ? Il a bien dû dire " monde de merde ! " avant de mourir non ?

Depuis 2005, les lamentables gouvernements successifs français n'ont pas été foutus de fêter une seule bataille de Napoléon.
On préfère aller participer à l'anniversaire de Trafalgar.

Si l'Empereur aurait gagné a Waterloo il aurait eu a affronter les Autrichiens et les Russes dans d'autres batailles. La vérité c'est que en 1815 La France était fatigué des Batailles et coalitions a répétitions. La dernière victoire française de l'Empire est la Bataille de Rocquencourt mener par Davout et Exelmans le 1er juillet 1815 contre les Prussiens et elle c'est terminé par une victoire.
Non Waterloo n'aura pas changer grand chose je pense la situation interne de la France cumulé a une Europe totalement ligué contre notre Empereur les dés était pipé.
En revanche le vrai moment décisif c'est la campagne de Russie sans ce désastre nous aurions peu être encore Un Empereur en France

But in the film the flag of the Prussian looked like the flag of the Austrian ( the yellow flag with the black eagle instead of the the withe flag with the black eagle in the middle)

Well the Tricolor wasn't used yet and as far as I know the Prussians didn't have yellow flags with eagles on them, that would be the Austrians. The Prussians wore bicorne hats as well as the French.

Infantry would never charge in such a formation like the frensh in this video. One canonball would likely kill a hundret soldiers at once.
+Tobias Preuss Actually the French did do that. It was called the 'French Column'. It performed very well against less well trained armies as they would not be able to get more than a few volleys off before the French Column hit them in melee like a human battering ram. It was only when they encountered well-drilled armies like the British or Prussians that the French Column did not do as well.
+Thongger against the Prussians it worked for a long time. But english lines were adapted against that. French were lucky to have better cav to support them
Under battlefield conditions, it's something you can pull off. Remember, this is battle and the point of the uniforms is to help people see it each other because the main problem was that it's a SMOKEY BATTLEFIELD, hard to see. Lots of noise and confusion. Troops moving around in the distance and the weather(The Battle of Jena started with a heavy morning fog) and of course commanders who have to make orders to react to situations that take time. The Prussians shot their own cavalry in this battle by accident because of one of those uncertainties(fog of war). Don't forget, the column is the fastest way to move troops and the most decisive and sure commander would prefer to rapidly move troops to a point where they want them before the enemy could react.
The Prussians were the most well-trained army of that era. Even that year. The main problem was the structure which relied too heavily on officers on the upper echelons(who may or may not be competent). In fact, they were the ones who started the three rounds a minute rule standard and could actually pull that of even in thus year. They originally had a 6-8 rounds a minute rule, but then they realized soldiers tired way too much after like one go.
yea the only way to beat that is with overwhelming cannon fire.

Corrections: (1) These opponents of the French were Prussians. (2) The Austrians beat the French at Aspern-Essling in May of 1809 and in July, 1809, they held off 40,000 to 50,000 more French for Two days at Wagram before the French could turn the Austrian left and force their retreat. Casualties were about equal, but the Austrians captured 1 more flag and 1 or 2 more cannons than the French. After Wagram, Napoleon said tp people putting down Austrians: "Obviously, you were Not at Wagram!".

La période la plus terrible pour le peuple en 1815 il n'avait plus assez d'hommes pour former une armée qui mérite ce nom. Waterloo n'a été en aucun moment gagnable. Et les Français dans leurs arrogance applaudissent. Comme CAMEROUN une défaite de plus !! et ensuite ils déclarent la guerre à la Prusse et batch encore une tarte. Hormis à la pétanque ils gagnent rien.

Very unrealistic. Lots of marching and galloping about and not much else. The Austrians were pretty lousy shots, they fired 4 volleys and didn't hit a single Frenchman.

One of the minor flaws in that scene. The main flaw is that Jena obviously is somewhere in southern Spain.

That was hilarious the French were hit by a barrage of cannon and musket rounds and nobody was wounded never mind died. The army was obviously superhuman how the hell did they lose at Waterloo.
