The mark of a good movie is when you watch it several times. Just like a good song. This is one of my favorite movies. Jim is looking forward to a great career !
Just watched this film. Absolute masterpiece. I hope Jim blows up and gets all the love and attention he deserves. Would love to see a new film he's made on the big screen!
One of my favorite "under the radar" movies in a long, long time. It is terrific.
He only needs one more film to complete his Cop Trilogy Cinematic Universe.
Everything in perfect balance
he's playing a cop in the new Halloween movie.... You didn't hear that from me...

What was his other one? And was it as good as this movie?
@@Neocolast Thunder Road. He wrote and directed it aswell and yes it is great as is he in it.
The rewatchability of this movie is at max level
Just rewatched it yesterday it’s too good. David Fincher meets Fargo
The reveal in the movie was too good Jim's performance sold it very well
Just got this on Amazon, ya'll BUY THIS MOVIE!
Just watched it. Absolutely brilliant film. Loved the writing, the pacing, the editing, the acting, the tone. 👍🏼👍🏼
"Laughter is the mind sneezing." is now my new favorite quote. I just found out about this movie, and I can't wait to see it. Jim Cummings completely won me over with Thunder Road. He's such a fantastic actor, writer, and director. I just bought The Wolf Of Snow Hollow on Amazon after having watched this video. So, thank you in advance. I would love to see you cover Banshee. It's a short-lived series that aired on Cinemax from 2013-2016 I've rarely heard anyone discuss it, let alone make a video covering it. It's such a great show with jaw-dropping action, suspense, and gore.
It gives you very likeable and fleshed out characters, then leaves you helpless as you watch a lot of them brutally die in front of you. Just thinking about Banshee is making me need to watch it again, and I've seen all 38 episodes at least three times each. I can't recommend this series enough.
This is the realest guy in the industry 🤷🏾♀️
Fascinating dissection of a scene.
Kudos, and thank you, to him, for giving the audience some credit for getting it without being beaten over the head.
i thought it was a comedy when I watched it, Jim was hilarious
It's definitely a dark comedy. But if you're familiar with people that are alcoholics and/or obsessed with trying to prove themselves, that's where the more tragic themes are.
@@28Pluto It was a tragic dark comedy
I would like a sequel or similar film in the same universe. Dope concept and it was good. Also funny
I want to see the director's cut of The Wolf Of Snow Hollow
I’m watching this for the 5th time! Keep ‘‘em coming!!!!❤️❤️❤️
I really appreciated this film. I saw some time ago, but I think about it often. It’s so dry and hilarious. Again, I just loved it
This movie was fantastic!!
Awesome! Loved The Wolf of Snow Hollow
Hidden gem of a movie. Loved it.
You’re a bad ass actor and writer my man
Aloha from Hawai'i. i just saw the movie and I was impressed: first rate acting, excellent script and dialogue, photography top notch. Mahalo and Mele Kalikimaka! A great movie to start my spooky-scary stories for Christmas...great work!!
loved it man! and loved you as well
I really enjoyed watching your film Jim Cummings and I look forward to watching more of your work 💖
I absolutely loved this film
love this so much
This is a great video, he really explains how they made a sad, upsetting scene more emotionally moving and better for a Fine Actress!!!
Really enjoyed this film.
Great movie. Really enjoyed it.
Great movie!
This movie was an unexpected surprise. It wasn't what I thought, which actually made it better. Watch it if you haven't already. Good movie all around. Don't go by the trailer either... it didn't do it any justice.
One of the big good surprises movie ever. Terrifying and funny
This movie was fantastic
Came to this movie for the late Robert Forester but stayed for Jim
Have not been so excited by a new screenwriter/director in quite awhile. Would give anything to be able to read the script for this movie (to get a better grasp on his screenwriting style and learn more about working on a script)
😂😂😂love this movie
Johns outbursts😂😂😂😂
Such a fun and funny movie
Coming in super late but I totally loved Jim's character all the way. The killings were so horrific in places, particularly the 3rd one for me (no spoilers), so having Jim's character almost sulking through all the funerals and taking each death as a sort of insult to his ability to stop the killer kinda pulled back the perspective for me and kept it from being too much.
i watched twice and it made me go watch thunder road
What did you think of Thunder Road?
Same here! He is just amazing
@@krollings Good short. Good movie.
His character reminded me of Casey Affleck on bath salts.
Okay, so who is amped to watch this now?
Yupppp
We watch movies to see stories of interesting people, especially in the horror genre, I mean no one "likes" Michael Myers. Loved this film, was perfect for Halloween, the acting, story, cinematography, soundtrack and climax are absolutely brilliant!
We also aren’t supposed to like Myers. He’s the main antagonist.
I,thought the acting in this film was very good. I was pleasantly surprised and have watched it several times

I thought this movie was great, I'm just a bit confused as to what role did the junkie play. Was he just a junkie with a wolf tattoo who killed some people, but not those murders that we saw on screen?
Exactly. Just a junkie.
Merely as a red-herring. Kind of a cheap move.
It was necessary to the tale because it made it seem like the mystery was resolved and that John had screwed the pooch in his investigation. Nothing that comes after that has any real purchase without the "false solution" to the murders that the "junkie" provides. I really liked it as a storytelling device.
It was pretty good. Could tell they had some trouble making it work in the edit room. Excellent werewolf effects, although the “it was really a serial killer” thing is super overdone & didn’t come as a surprise, merely a disappointment.
Worth the watch.
That lady needs to play Anya Taylor Joy's mom
Great movie. After watching it, I would have been good with not liking him in that scene because I also didn't like him throughout the movie, but I was still strapped into the mystery and story. And I would have preferred if the ending had just the female lead with all implications.
Reminds me of "dark was the night". A great character driven story, thats sadly almost ruined by being a cheap monster movie.
Dude gets so many points for his hair, which are negated by the whinehouse poster.
I love Jim, but I have to be honest - I don’t think this movie quite came together in the way he had hoped. Even in this video he seems almost frustrated with it slightly. It definitely felt like a movie that had a lot of meddling behind the scenes, and it’s no surprise to me there was a lot cut out.
Jim Cummings? The voice of Winnie the Pooh?
hahaha different Jim Cummings
Hes so right. Theres likeable bad ppl, like walter white, bateman in ozark, etc. Then theres those characters wives. The only truly unlikable character is an annoying one.
I watched this last night and I have to say that I absolutely HATED the John character. He was an unlikable asshole. When I realized that he was going to be the central character, it really lowered my expectations for the rest of the film and I found myself gritting my teeth any time he was on screen. I had no sympathy for what he was going through because he was just such a loud-mouthed douche. The idea that an emotional basketcase like him could hold a job as a cop, even with his father being the sheriff, really stretched believability.
Frankly, I would have enjoyed the movie more if deputy Julia had been the main character. Also, I didn't care for the way scenes occurring at two different times of day were cut together, I thought it was needlessly confusing. The guy in the trailer with the wolf tattoo also just lead to confusion as he wasn't fleshed out enough to really make him a plausible character. In fact, I didn't think the actual killer was fleshed out enough. His scenes were so short and forgettable that I didn't even connect them at the end.
Oh and maybe I didn't pay enough attention, but I didn't understand the scene where John attacked the guy after looking at his daughter's phone. I didn't recognize the guy or the woman and had no idea who they were or why he was there. And how did the killer survive being shot by Liz on the road? And how was he able to overpower the deputy and stuff him in a trash can? And what happened to Jenna's boyfriend?
I thought this movie was awful. It was marketed as a movie about a werewolf terrorizing a small town but instead we got a movie about an alcoholic cop with anger issues descending into madness (with some really bad attempts at comedy and over-the-top acting), and the werewolf had a total of about 30 seconds of screentime. And then it’s revealed it wasn’t really a werewolf…it was some dude dressed like a werewolf.
Also, what did John leave in his daughter’s drawer at the end that made her give a worried look? A gun?
Lol “likeable” doesn’t mean anything? I guess nobody would wanna root for you if you don’t mean “anything” to them then . . .
Empathy =/= likeable
@@albertoamoruso7711 There’s no empathy in being an asshole .
@@jaysony8587
I agree with you. I get what Jim’s going for but a LOT of the stuff his character does in the film honestly made me wish he died at the end. I get that he’s supposed to be an alcoholic driving himself crazy trying to find the killer, but we as the audience don’t care about his problems if he’s a dick for everyone around him including people who are just trying to help. In fact some would even WANT him to fail because he’s such an asshole. I think a way this could’ve been fixed is if they had flashbacks to his previous life before the alcoholism to show he was a good guy until he went off the deep end. That would make us care and see that he has the potential to be good once he kicked his habits. Instead we’re just left to assume he was always a unlikeable dick.

movie is terrible. What is it about? what is the message? it's a hodgepodge of ideas and no clear point to make.
Please tell jim this is the worst movie I've seen in a decade, the acting and dialog are truly awful, aside from one or two, I'm assuming, unintentional spots where it's ok for a moment.
What a horrible letdown.
Gurrl you doing too much .
This movie sucks... and I mean SUCKS sucks
So sorry you had to subject yourself to it! Many of us loved it, but thanks for your negativity here.
Spoiler alert. Dont read if you have not seen the movie yet. Below are my thoughts on this movie.
This was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I was highly disappointed with the ending. I did not like the protagonist. I thought he was just a dick throughout the entire movie and a bit of an over actor. I was expecting this to be a genuine werewolf movie and it was anything but. A real werewolf movie requires a real werewolf and not some wannabe in a costume. I wish someone could have warned me before I actually watched it so I wouldn't have wasted my time.
I give it 1 out of 5 stars and a solid thumbs down 👎
So it wasn't the movie you wanted them to make. Got it. LOL.
@@dashx1103 ... It was a bad movie that I did not want them to make. Be sure to word it correctly. All I'm asking for are good movies.
@@danielalvarez8729 To each his own. I thought it was good. And, just to be clear, part of your initial criticism was that you wanted a different movie - a “genuine werewolf movie.” So, you didn’t like the protagonist and you wish they’d made a different movie. Got it. Many of us liked the protagonist and appreciated the movie for what it was, not what we wished it had been instead.
i like him but he should not be an actor... yet
LOVE THIS MOVIE!! Lost count of how many times I’ve seen it.
